Maybe baldness represents a cleared mind. Elves of power just seem to like a clean shave. Though this assumption only reaches towards Keeper Zathrian and Shartan.

Sutherland recruits a bald Dalish Elf Mage too, can't remember his name...

I have been very pro-elf from DAO (I never even completed a game with a human or dwarf)  I just can't think of any reason why either origin would fall for Alistair,  the city elf in particular, Zev was an excellent option for them.

The way I roleplayed my Mahariel, she was always curious/fascinated with regards to the humans instead of being the "kill all shems" type of Dalish. That, and some Dalish NPCs mentioned how Mahariel's father always talked about trying to live in peace with the humans (or something like that) so I headcanon she probably took some of those aspects from her father. Plus, while I do like Zev, I've always been more attracted to Alistair as a love interest for my Mahariel. ;)

I don't know, I guess it depends on how you roleplay your character.

This is going to be weirdly off topic. I just passed by a fanfic description about Fenris that mentioned ticklishness.

Do you think Solas is ticklish? Where would be the "spot" that would trigger it, if he was?

Why are elves running around barefoot anyway? This is something I never understood....

I mean, you can step... into... things... Squishy things, squishy between your toes... *shudder*

Feet would be funny, although I think ribs would be more hilarious given it's a little more intimate. Can you imagine Mr. Grim and Fatalistic laughing on the couch with Lavellen on top and a knee to hold him down while she tickles his ribs? I imagine him squirming and trying to glue his arms to his chest to keep her fingers from moving.

Regarding that dialogue we get from Cole post-credits,

Spoiler

I don't think Cole forgot Solas completely. If he had, he wouldn't have been able to repeat what had happened between them back to the Inquisitor. I imagine if they had wanted Cole to have forgotten everything, the conversation would have been something like: 'Have you seen Solas, Cole?' 'Who is that?' Then, maybe some Cole rambling.

I assume one of the following happened:

a. Solas's suggestion to forget caused Cole to selectively forget the painful parts of Solas's past that he had gleamed, and that could potentially be used against whatever scheming he has planned. Cole trusts Solas, he probably would have accidentally agreed on some level. [Its also possible that Cole can't really comprehend the full extent of what Solas has done, given the fact that the latter is thousands of years old and Cole is used to dealing with only small bits of information.]

b. Solas actually has a power over spirits, and could selectively remove the memory.

c. Solas thought he was capable of removing Cole's memory completely, but failed. Cole repeating the story to the Inquisitor is Cole's way of informing him/her what had happened, even if he himself is not capable of really processing why.

In this scene, I was falling in love with this hot stuff - and I was playing a Qunari first.
Sure, I blushed already after his Chantry-snigger and giggled hysterically listening to the "Human explode everything!"-banter with Varric
but after his "A word?" - I fell from my chair and created (in total hypnosis) Lavellan. Since that my Qunari was never been touched again....
(I am so sorry, Is-Asshai... I was trying to romance you with The Iron Bull but there was an elf...I-I could not resist...)

Aha! See, I was under the impression that the Cole bit was happening in real time, since he just goes about it without any prompting (at least, that's what happened in my playthrough, Cole just started talking the moment I was in earshot). It didn't cross my mind that Cole could have been repeating a conversation between Solas and him from before... Perhaps Cole was squeezing the last bit of information that he could hold onto before Solas made him "forget"?

Interesting! Thanks for the insight!

I totally wish that was true.  But that's one of the worst ticklish spots ever, and once the start funny it's near impossible to get it to stop because you feel so soft a touch trying to scratch just makes it worse.  Gah, fantom tickles.  The one place I can tickle myself, through the giant calluses on my feet.

I just noticed that sticking Solas in heavier armor just causes him to add more layers on top of his casual outfit. That full set of Silverite Battlemaster Mail turns into about three fur sweater vests and what appears to be an armored scarf.

No wonder he doesn't have a naked romance scene, it must take the guy forever to get out of that armor.

If Dorian and the Inquisitor can make it work with all of the complexities of Dorian's outfit then Lavellan and Solas can find a way.

After some consideration I decided I want their reunion to be something like:

A bit off-topic, and I apologize if this derails the conversation, but I need it for fanfic reasons.

Regarding that dialogue we get from Cole post-credits,

Spoiler

I'd love to hear what you guys think about this!

I've wondered about this too! But, for different reasons. I don't know if it just happens to be because I always seem to have very high Cole approval early on and so things happen in an unintended order or what... however after I make him more spirit-y in his personal quest, he mentions in plain conversation that he's forgotten real Cole, and that particular pain can't pull on him anymore.

And yet, after the temple of Mythal, you get a cutscene with him where he starts angsting over real Cole and whether or not he could have saved him again, before whispering Forget and behaving like the name suddenly meant nothing to him.

I sort of took that to mean that the amnesia isn't permanent, even if it is complete. Things can make him remember, and if that's the case, what better way to jog his memory than a sorrowful Lavellan painfully missing Solas? As she is Cole's friend, he'd surely feel needed, and there's no way he wouldn't hear her hurting I think. In that case, even if he did forget everything about Solas, he'd know him through our memories and heartbreak, no?

I've wondered if that dialogue wasn't bugged to show up immediately after he's made a spirit instead of after the Temple of Mythal when it would make more sense.

Okay, let me think. I had originally rolled a human, but only made it an hour or so in before rerolling as an elf. I think I had planned on romancing Ironbull, but didn't end up finding him very appealing after getting to know him. Solas snuck up on me with his charming lilt and wisdom. And then it just kept building and building, and now here I am a month later still obsessed.

I've been trying to get my thoughts together on what might have happened before Arlathan fell. I'm terrible at explaining my thought process but here I go anyway. lol

The elven 'gods' started out as spirits/very powerful elves and through their deeds became something more in the eyes of the people. Time went on and that power started going to their heads. There's a line during the fade quest where Cole says: "they remember a time when they were higher and then it woke up and everything fell." I could be associating that to the elves and it not be relevant but was it Andruil who kept going into the abyss and started acting mad? I think she may have came in contact with red lyrium. Not infected by it since it says that she calmed down after Mythal made her stop. I also think that whoever killed Mythal maybe sabatoged things with the others. Mythal was busy keeping order, which might make her weaker and easier to kill since those battles lasted days.

Maybe the corruption started spreading or solas merely sealed the others to protect them from whoever it was. The dialogue from Cole mentions them being sad/hurting. Nothing about them being angry or wanting vengeance against solas. And if they were corrupted by lyrium or the blight I highly doubt solas would let them out.

I'm under the suspicion that might intend to absorb then as well. He knows how far they fell in their own pride so how could he think restoring the people is worth that price again?

I don't see why him and Lavellan can't do it themselves. Just a little touch of immortality, not become gods but be teachers.

Ugh. I need a happy ending, too. Even if it isn't perfect.

Yep. Honestly, I wouldn't be against an ending where Lav abandons everything to go with him to do... whatever he intends to do. Not too sweet, not too bitter, perfect.

Hey Birdy you are the god of smut and fanfiction.  I've decided to pledge myself to you, could I get a bead on what kind of offerings you prefer.  Perhaps you could also let me know what vallaslin you prefer?

No, but seriously you are awesome with how you pepper this sometimes depressing thread with fanfictiony goodness.

Like a slutty santa.

But seriously ... what kind of offerings?

Huh, funny thing, I've created my third Inquisitor Lavellan with strong intention to romance Cullen or Bull. I couldn't veer from Solas. It's magic, I tell you!

And here is some awesome picture of our favorite Wolf, not sure if it's already been in this thread.
