Anybody else wondering why exactly Solas wants to bring the Gods back? He never seems to like them very much, and I can't see how the current world is worse than what it used to be. And if he didn't like them, why did he seal them away to "save them"?

I second the cry for another chapter.  But I mean take your time ... I'll just be here ... waiting. 

 

Also, lol Andruil.  Can you imagine Lavellan getting up in her face while Fen'harel attempts to placate them? 

 

"Ladies, please.  Lavellan it was only for a year and Andruil put away the bow.  Let's not fight ... come on."

 

I don't think he'd be able to placate Lavellan. At least not Nhyme. She'd be all calm and collected for all of five seconds and then BAM fireball to the face. Maybe she spent too much time with Sera before Sera turned arse buscuit. Fur would be flying. He would have to just stand back and deal with it. Andruil would get all that pent up aggressive anger and frustration Lavellan had to deal with.

Feet would be funny, although I think ribs would be more hilarious given it's a little more intimate. Can you imagine Mr. Grim and Fatalistic laughing on the couch with Lavellen on top and a knee to hold him down while she tickles his ribs? I imagine him squirming and trying to glue his arms to his chest to keep her fingers from moving.

More on topic, I also wonder why Solas wants to bring the pantheon back, supposedly. He locked them away for a reason, is he really just trying to reset the world to exactly the way it was? That doesn't seem like a very good plan and not an understandable one either for a possible god of rebellion.

As for the elven kingdom, The idea I have in my head is a mass movement of both city elves and dalish reclaiming Arlathan and the surrounding areas during a war between Tevinter and the Qunari. This would give the elves a chance as arlathan forest is on the far reaches of the Imperium and plenty of kingdoms could have realpolitik reasons for supporting the elves, at least during the begining.

 

Solas, Lavellan and abalas, could be guides and people to spure things on, but this should be a movement that looks to the future and builds on the past, both the successes and mistakes.

More on topic, I also wonder why Solas wants to bring the pantheon back, supposedly. He locked them away for a reason, is he really just trying to reset the world to exactly the way it was? That doesn't seem like a very good plan and not an understandable one either for a possible god of rebellion.

There's that theory running around that the blight started in Arlathan, perhaps they went to sleep just to wait the blight out, hoping it would die?  Or like some people do. Cryosleep until a time comes that they can be cured in the future.

My impression is that most of the elven people were slaves in ancient times, to the elven gods. And he didn't like that, so he imprisoned the gods to make the elves' lives better. But then he woke up to find out they're still pretty much slaves, but have also lost their immortality and connection to the fade. So basically worse off, in his mind. 

 

So he thinks bringing back the elven gods will allow them to raise the elves back up to where they should be.

I personally don't think he's going to wake up the elven gods, I think he's gonna tear down the veil, whether that wakes them up or not anyway. . .

I don't think he wants to bring them back. I posted it in the other group already but, I believe it will be an unfortunate side effect of restoring the People to what they were and bringing back the magic. With centuries to nurse their grudge for him, I'm sure the first thing on their agenda will be to make dread wolf soup.

Then they will bicker with each other and try to enslave humanity. Probably.

On a lighter note, I have my money on him being the most ticklish right around his belly button. Most puppies are, no?

I might be misremembering this, but I thought there was a conversation somewhere where he said how things are now is better than the Qun. Because even if the Qun would give a better quality of life, people aren't free under it. So it seems strange he would believe that, but want the elves to be slaves to the Gods again...
