Like I said, if before drinking it had been something she/they had considered it would be fine. But the black out drunk, waking up naked, and thoroughly tossed without much basis...like I said, smacked of the lets get so-and-so so drunk they let me use them. That's where it gives that vibe. I know it's just me and likely flavored that way because of personal history (way too many females crying the next morning because of poor decisions made while drunk, FYI, taking home roommate's one night stands never gets less awkward). But yeah, it's questionable *shrug* But that's me.

I see what you're saying. It shouldn't but it bothers me the whole "I was drunk, so it's rape" thing when they were both drunk and consented at the time.  And hold up, you've taken your roommate's one night stands home?!   Wow, what roommates.

It's been a wild Saturday night here in the Solas thread. It's amusing to contrast the current content with previous indepth discussions about lore. Anyone have suggestions for new topics?

We could talk about how awesome it would be if Solas's potential antagonist status is a red herring and Falon'Din actually could turn out to be the big bad or something.

I'm just going to throw this out there and say there are a lot of decent guys who are cool with having casual sex and not feeling weird about past partners. And also cool with having casual sex still have an emotional connection of sorts during the act, and also have the ability to feel special towards you if things keep going.

 

Solas has probably had 100s if not 1000s of sexual partners in his endless life. I'm not bothered by it. He's lived so many lives before he met Lavellan. And she lived a whole life before he met him. 

 

People have sex and it's special no matter how many times you do it. 

 

Unless it's bad sex of course. Bleh.

Well, they always had excuses why they couldn't. Classes. Work. Seems I was the only one available and having strange women wandering aimlessly about the house bothers me. So I was nice. I cooked breakfast, listened to them cry, and drove them home. Hopefully feeling less worried about what the guys thought of them, even though we all knew darn well no one remembered anyone's names.

This would be amazing. Like he had to take Mythal's power because it'd be the only way he was strong enough to face Falon'Din (and probably Dirthamen since they're buddies). You spend episodes 1-3 of the DLC thinking "aw man this guy is awful" then episode 4 is like BOOM he is actually the hero.

 

Cue riding off into the sunset on the newly-discovered griffons.

Umm...I've spent hours writing an imagined conversation btwn Lavellan and Solas that's about lore (specifically Ghilan'nain).

Well, I mean, let's say he lets the elven gods/forgotten ones free.  They're going to be pretty pissed.  They're also going to be intent on reestablishing the status quo--i.e. their/Elevhen dominance.  That's a whole slew of boss battles right there.

Ooh, that would be interesting. But if they were locked away, how would any of them be free? Unless one broke free and is attempting to release the others? Imagine the showdown between a couple of gods, even weak ones. It could have grave consequences for the people of Thedas, but if Evil!God isn't destroyed and the bad things happen because of that - even if people can rebuild from it - then things would actually be worse. Would be a fun situation and set of decisions to make.

You say that...I lived that. It's weird. Very uncomfortable. And since I have the same parts they do....they immediately cling. Immediately. It's unnerving. At first it's all like a haunted weird house thing going...and then it just becomes abysmal.

It's always interesting to read what Cole has to say about Solas. I wonder what he means by "her" in the last thing he says here. Mythal? But who was Mythal to Solas?

I never reply to any of those "wow y are the dalish literally the worst???" or "solas is boring and i hate him" threads, but I have thought a variety of childish retorts when reading through them.
