So while pretending I know my way around Tumblr, I found this:

Spoiler

http://maabelasdarut...t-card-has-been

Those here who are more versed in tarot stuff, what do you think?

Scans of the tarot that came with the super special edition say that Sera's first card is the The Fool and Solas's romance is The Hierophant.

http://everythingdra...las-tarot-cards

http://brunetteautho...arcana-1-3-part

http://brunetteautho...arcana-2-3-part

http://brunetteautho...arcana-3-3-part

The artists didn't stick strictly to the visual elements of the cards. Cassandra's first card is Strength and there's just one visual element of the Strength card on it (Cassandra herself, Stength is almost always represented by a girl/woman). Dorian's romance is the Chariot, again it lacks a lot of what traditionally defines the Chariot (and to correct myself here, it does have the black/white motif).

As for the theory, the Fool doesn't really suit Solas. Even a Solas who changes his mind, he lacks the... naive? Childlike? Aspects of the Fool. I actually think Cole would have made a slightly better Fool than Sera but they're both a much better match than Solas.

Bringing up my shower thought/question as an out for anyone who doesn't want to get involved in the sexuality discussion.

Why does Flemeth need someone to perform a Dalish funeral rite before her soul piece is released from the amulet? Is it because it's a failsafe in case another body of hers is killed (in this case via The Warden)? Or..could it have larger implications regarding how the elven gods could be immortal, and difficult to kill completely? Would ancient elves have a phylactery like that where they store some of their soul/essense in case they die through injury?

"Something you've never seen before."  :D

So genetics does not work in Thedas? Could it be that they do not understand recessive genes?
Just because and elf and human baby appears human, it does not mean that if they had children that elven features could not reappear in later generations.
Then again it is a crackpot theory with many holes.

Well, what I'm saying is you can't get elf from elf+human. In other words if Andraste was human, and her lover Elven, you wouldn't get to our Lavellan from there. It's a fun theory to play with however, I won't deny that.

As for a half elf in Kirkwall, I don't remember anything like that. I do remember a Dalish outcast who felt she could no longer return to her clan because she birthed an elf-blooded human mage child. You could reconcile her with the clan after dealing with her child's magey-ness. Perhaps that's who you remember?

Also the elf-blooded child in question had round ears. His wiki page: Feynriel

Has that been officially considered lore? I'm mean in the way of subject to change at a later date.

Well, that's nice to know. It is easy to see how it might be interpreted as the Fool based on design alone.

Which does lead me to wonder... do you think there is an actual link to be drawn between the character and the cards used to represent them? That seems an obvious question, but what I mean is are the romance cards just for flavor or do they indicate something else? That's a big difference between friend Solas and romance Solas.

He's smiling when he pulls away from the kiss, content to stay with her forever.

It hits him like a wave of freezing water that he needs to walk away.

Ya, so sad to see his expression change. I made a gif of that.  :crying:

Yes, in "The Calling" it is made known she is Alistair's mother. There is also this Twitter statement by Mike Laidlaw implying that it is true. If you side with the mages and don't have to kill her in Haven she will also ask you if you got a chance to talk with Alistair in Redcliffe, and if you think he's happy .. if you press her on it she will admit she once cared deeply for Maric. (IMO she and Alistair even though not companions in the strictest sense of the word should get some kind of war table mission or quest where you have to bring them together).

As per the elf blooded always being considered human this is part of a statement made by both Ariane (Feynriel's mother) when asked why she is not living with her clan in DAII and by Keeper Maretheri if you ask the Dalish to take in Feynriel (ultimately they only accept him because he is a Dreamer and elves just don't have many of those anymore -- probably due to killing most of them during the Arlathan Civil War that resulted from Fen'Harel freeing the slaves )

I am not sure immortal is really the right way to describe it. I would say that the ancient elves were more likely ageless, but from what I can tell, and I may be wrong here, but they could die from disease and inflicted wounds.

That's what I thought. Hmm. I might put too much into this (well, I sorta am, but heck), but 'dying alone'.. Just makes me think of old age. You're old, withering and all alone. And that's really sad.

But maybe 'dying alone' just means that he's afraid of dying as long as the other 'gods' are locked away - ALONE, like, he's the only one left of his kind. Makes some sense at least.

I refuse to believe that about Alistair, but I was talking about the elf/human lore.

Well, I figure it's as official as anything else can be, heh. Given certain developments with the Qunari lore in particular with this game, I'm not disinclined to believe that everything we know could be subject to change without notice or explanation. ^^;

*sigh* Some word of advice, don't listen to "Hallelujah" and "Falling Slowly" on a loop on your iPod (or your phone or whatever) while doing groceries. Walking around the supermarket with Solas in your mind with a sad look on your face to the point where it looks like you're about to cry is just depressing.

I'm sorry, but that made me laugh IRL. xD

Some arts... I've always liked seeing artworks of Solas wearing his hood for some reason.  :)

Sorry it is confirmed on the Stolen Throne

But only in the books then? I said it earlier, books aren't 100% positive for concrete lore. And they've changed game lore before.

And that's totally boring. There should totally be half elves, I wonder why they would do it like that. Maybe it's implying the elves are "something more"?

Next up: conspiracy thoughts.

So, here I am playing DA2 and I just finished the bit where we talk to Flemeth 2.0 after the funeral rite. She tells Hawke that the world will fear the inevitable plummet into the abyss, and in that moment s/he must not hesitate to leap. That made me immediately think of Here Lies the Abyss quest where Hawke jumps at the chance to kill googly-eyed spider demon.

What if Flemeth wasn't referring to the later events of DA2 when she predicts terrible things happening, but rather DA:I where Hawke has the choice of (presumably) dying by demon, or just exiting the rift. "It is only when you fall that you truly learn whether you can fly." That is the last thing Flemeth says to Hawke on Sundermount. So is Hawke falling to googly spider demon a true death (and closure to their story), or would it be too weird to see abomination Hawke having something to do with the internal war the Grey Wardens are facing at the end of DA:I?

Hawke is "Most likely dead" is the prompt they give you when choosing between a warden and Hawke.  We don't know if they're dead or not.  I like to believe the not.
