Hey remember that time Solas made you fall in love super hard and had the most romantic and meaningful date of all the romance options, then broke up with you with no explanation and left you in the middle of nowhere to walk home by yourself?

Yeah. Me too.

Remember that other time you found out he was an ancient morally ambiguous being and then the story ended and you were like "wat"?

I remember that part too.

Oh I remember it well. It didn't help that I'd been "in love" with Solas for 9 months prior to said breakup.

But then we remember he is our beloved Fade Nerd Egg Elf, make another Lavellan and do it all over again

This is the only person in the world who understands me.

Like on a serious note i would liked to have had some sort of sex club (not a brothel). In previous games I liked the brothels, my only complaint being that I kept thinking "are these sex workers being treated right? What kind of working conditions do they have? I hope they are not being exploited".

So I thought of another crackpot theory this morning regarding the Creators.

What if they all were/are able to do Flemeth's "just a piece" thing and they all had various animals that they put their power into, just like Cory and his dragon.  Kind of like a backup battery plan -- each one used a specific creature.

This would explain why there are so many weirded out wolves with glowing green eyes in the world while Solas is in it.  (And yes, Elaina says that "demons or something else" is to blame for it.)

And for some reason I believe that Falon'Din and Dirthemen are different because of the way their relationship is described in the lore, but how?  Falon'Din has owls, and Dirthemen has ravens.  Is Dirthemen what Falon'Din was before he was corrupted?  Or were they simply lovers or incestual lovers (as icky as that is, but hey, the Greek gods did icky things too).

The Elder Scrolls talk is making me want to replay Morrowind... I've tried all the games, but I just always end up lonely without a party to talk to!

Seems like some of the people here have read the DA books? Are they worth reading? I've read TME, but I only picked that up because I heard it had Elfy stuff in it and because it was written by Weekes (who also has a great original series of books too!). The other books are about the Wardens right? I was never really interested in them, so I skipped them... But I also feel like I'm missing out on stuff by not reading them....

i've read all the books except for Last Flight so far.  i would highly recommend all of them.

The Stolen Throne takes place during the time when ferelden drives the orlesians out and you get to know maric and a much younger loghain.

The Calling is the warden-related one, where a young and very different, very brash duncan appears.

Asunder takes place not long after the events of DA2 and right before the mages break away from the chantry.  you see cole's origins, get to rhys and evangeline and see some returning DAO characters as well.

the comics are well done, but i much prefer the novels.  there are a LOT of feels in the books, especially in Asunder.

I recorded all my streams while playing DAI, and I made highlights of both these moments.

So whenever I want to see the exact moment my heart shatters into a trillion pieces, I watch them again. :)

Also a 10 min rant trying to make sense of everything after the credits. My final words of said rant. "Ok I'm gunna stop streaming so I can cry myself to sleep." Then proceeded to do just that.

How cool would it be if we could somehow play part of Solas' backstory à la Leliana's Song? I don't think that would ever happen, too much new content to build, but I certainly wouldn't be opposed to playing as a younger, rebellious Solas who screws up royally. Or maybe even just the possible gap between him waking up and giving his orb to Corypheus.

I don't want that, as I want Lavellan to see it. What they could do is do something with the fade so we can see his backstory, so that the inquistor can see his backstory and learn more about him. Any DLC with Solas should have a wicked awesome fade scene

They were actually twin brothers .. I believe the only one's of the alleged creators that were the biological children of Mythal and Elgar'nan .. It does strike me as ironic though that the Inquisition uses a lot of owl and raven symbols- Leiliana is the spymaster, uses ravens, and is ruthless in the pursuit of secrets. the Seekers have an owl eye with a sword through it and the rays of the run surrounding it as their symbol .. and put owls up everywhere ... makes me really wonder about the real roots of the Andrastian Chantry if they are using the symbols of Falon'din, Dirthaeman, and Elgar'Nan everywhere- though it could just be the cultural appropriation of Elvehn symbolism as a way to assert the Chantries dominance over the elven people after the Second Exalted March as well.

I thought that there was a codex (from temple of Mythal?) that suggested that Falon'din and Dirthamen had a indescribable relationship.  Like they were really really close but that did not necessarily mean familial or sexual, but something more akin to besty best best friends?

I actually like that a lot more, because I can definitely see two immortal beings becoming entwined like that.  I mean sex is fun and all, but over the course of millennia it's companionship and friendship that truly matters.

Yeah, the codex writer thinks it may be some indescribable relationships that existed specially between elves or something like that.

Bird symbols/omens are an important part of many ancient cultures, but there isn't always a common meaning across cultures.

But I was thinking about Solas' broken orb/foci. Is it possible that he will need the inquisitor, since she has the mark made from his foci? Maybe someone's already posited this, but it seems like her mark isn't something she's going to want on her hand forever. He may, in fact, need it.

I believe Falon'Din will play a role at some point (I hope he's going to be the next big bad), so my next Lavellan will have his vallaslin all over her pretty face. Moar drama for Solas! *evil laugh*

And please yes, I soo want to see young Solas in game. PLEASE. With dreads.

The title of that second one reminded me of this song, and then I watched this video and ARGGGH sad ending.  (And yes I know my age is showing.)

Yep, that's the one!

I like it.  It's nice and adds flavor to the ancient elves.  I imagine it to be kind of like Turk and JD from Scrubs.  It's just guy love ... between two guys.fLDYt.gif

Haha i like this.

Another song I wanted to use for another Solas video was Lana Del Ray's cover of Once Upon A Dream. But I can't gamble with getting a copyright strike. I wouldn't mind a claim but a strike would ruin me.

God I want to use that Lana Del Ray song so badly. I can play my whole outline in my head for that video and it would be so perfect.

I wish some things would stay on the kinkmeme. Actually, I wish some things wouldn't even be on there. Anything involving something other than human/Qunari/elf/etc. bodies is among those things...

Sorry, but just the description of this thing on AO3 has traumatized me. Some subjects in fanfiction should be illegal.
