I did What Pride Had Wrought last night on my Cullen romance character, and then did my usual, run around to all my companions to check in on conversations (still haven't gotten the damn Wicked Grace scene!). Of course I visit Solas first. 

 

I got back to the war table and when the advisers all walked up, I was like, "****! I forgot to check on Cullen!"

 

So I guess that's how other romances compare to Solas, to me at least. I completely forget I'm in them, and still just bother Solas all the time. 

 

Aw, I surprised myself- I'm getting into the Cullen romance... but Solas will always be #1

 

I'm glad that even though my Inquisitor can't romance Solas, they're still good friends.  I got the "I respect you deeply" line from Solas and he refers to her as "my friend."  It's something.  I don't think I can do an assquisitor run with Solas hating me.

This has been bothering me for a while and I just got to this part with my newest Lavellan... When you get Solas to a high enough friendship level or whatever, does he refer to a female Lavellan as "lethallan" instead of "lethallin"? Because both he and Minaeve have been calling all of my Lavellans "lethallin" in conversations (the normal one with Minaeve and the pre-Skyhold one with Solas). :| Did they just get rid of "lethallan" or something...?

 

Nothing phases me anymore. I am an empty shell of a human. I had gazed into the abyss long ago and came back nothing. 

 

Now I am cursed to roam the world, searching for a fanfic to shock me. Tiddy Fic. Wolf ******. I am numbness made flesh.

 

Look upon me and see the void.

 

The DA fandom has nothing on certain other fandoms. I would honestly be surprised if the Dragon Age fandom managed to come up with something more appalling than what I've already seen. Anime and JRPG fandoms tend to get the most... interesting fanfics.

Then again, I've been on the internet since I was seven years old, and my access was never monitored. (Though even if it was, I read some weird books as a kid. One involved a "Beauty and the Beast" story but with more magic, drug rings, and prostitution. And I don't remember if the "beast" actually got cured, actually, so he might have been a wolf man even when they got married and had kids? ...Why did my mother let me read these books in elementary school.)

I wish I could travel with more than four. Cassandra, Varric, Dorian, and Cole are my Inquisitors main bros. All of them she sees a very close friend, although she doesn't lean on Cole much. If there's an ending DLC involving Solas, OOCly I would bring Cole to see what dialogue he had. But I don't know if my character would actually bring Cole if she thought there was a chance that Solas could be their enemy. She wouldn't want Cole to be put in the middle of that.

Gosh. I've gotten so used to static Solas in the group, the thought of having to play with a fourth slot that he doesn't occupy gives me this weird, empty feeling.

 

I would also pick Cass, since she has been the tank I've most liked having around and is probably my favorite female in the game. Lavellan can look to her and see someone who knows how to remain strong even when everything is falling apart. Whatever happens with Solas, I believe she's going to need to borrow some of that extra determination that Cass can provide. 

 

Cole is a given. When I toy with the idea of my Lavellan leaving the Inquisition just to search for Solas, Spirit-y Cole is right there with her. Even if he doesn't remember Solas. I can still hear him saying. "I can help. Let me help. I want to help."

 

Dorian would have to come along to keep the rest of the team humbled by his charm and dashing good looks. I am relatively certain that his mustache alone has the power to thwart the ire of the ancients. I'd be silly not to take him along in Solas' absence.

 

It looks like this combination is the popular one. :3 Birds of a feather, us.

Definitely bringing Cole along. Since I brought Solas everywhere with me as my main mage before he left, I guess I'll bring Dorian since he's BFFs with my Lavellan. For my warrior it'll either be Cass or Blackwall (I like to switch between these two a lot).

Good question.

 

Cole, that's a no-brainer. There will be a lot of hurt to heal, and... Well, it's Cole. What more do you need?

And since I'm not a mage, the obvious next one would be Dorian. I'd also be interested in his views on the matter (and I love his character).

Then I had to pick either Cass or Bull, and I guess I'd go with Cassie.

(...Or Varric? So he can write a book about it!)

Im thinking Cass because she and my Lavellan have gotten pretty close. They both have a tie to traditions but want some change, women of action and all, not afraid to say it if theyre wrong. I head canon her as my Lavellan confident even if she probbly doesnt have much insight on Solas, she would respect Lavellan's choice.

 

Then Cole cause thats where all the insight comes from. I made him more human post breakup, so well see if it affects anything. Im a bit afraid he would sacrifice himself/ something important to get Lavellan and solas back together... being Compassion and all.

 

Solas is my main mage, so I guess i would replace him with Dorian for that, but if its possible to run a full rogue party then Ill take Varric. I jsut love his leve-headness. Hes very grounding to my Lavellan and reminds her not to cringe at all the bs, but in a more mature way them Sera.

 

Thats just from the top of my head. You guys?

Cassandra and Cole, and probably Sera. I love dragging her into all this magical elfy stuff because she dislikes it so much.

I'm pretty sure I've never heard "lethallin" from Solas, it was always "lethallan"... but then again, I have russian version, and I admit I payed more attention to the subs rather than to the voices. And in the subs, it was "lethallan".)

There are some (many) kinks I don't like, but at least I can understand/accept that that is something other people may like. But this... Goes so far over my head...

Yeah I came across that fan fic today and I didnt open it..half afraid I'll be mentally traumatized I like the idea of chaste romance between Solas and Lavellan. The dom/sub stuff seems really out of character at times

I would want to see him alone so just me. Of course if I will have to fight a lot before I can see him then Cassandra, Cole and maybe Blackwall or Varric.

Bull or Cass depends, Cole, Dorian....because...reasons. Cole, I believe, is a staple in anyone's party for Solas. They play off each other so well. Dorian, because, like I said. I'm his fruit fly. I can see them playfully arguing and acting all love/hate to each other when they aren't flirting with each other and backhanded complimenting each other. I switch between Bull and Cass. I did Blackwall for awhile, but I never got the bitter taste of his cowardice out of my mouth. I won't leave a friend to be executed, but that doesn't mean I won't need time to forgive it all and go back to the way things were.

A reddit user was able to find designer’s notes within the code of the game that explained the epilogue scene with more clarity.  The text reads as follows:

This is Flemeth from the previous two games. In this game, Flemeth’s story comes to a head— she knew that Solas would summon her, and that he would need to steal her power to further his plans. She knew that because they are both elven gods… yet Solas has slept for a thousand years and his power dwindled, while she was killed long ago and a spark escaped from her into the body she now holds. Tamlen refers to a female Warden as "lethallan" and a male Warden as "lethallin" in DA:O. I can't remember if Merrill ever uses the words in DAII because I didn't usually have her around, but I think it's come up other times as well. (Maybe? Now I'm not sure...)

Yeah, it appears that way. I don't know if the devs have ever actually talked about it on the forums or Twitter.

Do you think the normal "dragonage" Twitter account would respond to something like that? I'd be willing to send them a tweet... (It would probably be better to send something to a writer, but I hate bothering them with questions. :S And I don't know which one is in charge of "elfy" things now anyway.)

How cool would it be if we could somehow play part of Solas' backstory à la Leliana's Song? I don't think that would ever happen, too much new content to build, but I certainly wouldn't be opposed to playing as a younger, rebellious Solas who screws up royally. Or maybe even just the possible gap between him waking up and giving his orb to Corypheus.

It seems strange it would be a different word based off sex. The elves don't have any other instances of that do they? And the "lin" bit means blood. So it's saying you're of the same blood (so like family/clan). So why would the word for blood change.  Just seems very strange that there's two versions of the word...

I continued to be friends with Blackwall afterwards - but he made me really sad, and it's not the same friendship as before. But he also comes off as having creepy feelings towards my Lavellan now. Maybe its because I choose "goodbye" in the dialog and then leave the conversation and run away before he has a chance to finish saying "see you later", so he always ends up saying, "and there she goes."

 

In my headcannon, ever since Solas left, she's avoiding him because she's afraid he's gonna try and swoop in. Dorian save me!
