(Making me feel old at 25!)
Thank you so much Solas thread! I'm barely on here now in comparison to the old days but it means a lot, y'all are so kind. :'D
I feel like at least Solas's ties to Lavellan will be mostly wrapped up in a DLC, while his character/purpose/the ancient elven gods will be resolved in the next game or two. Or up until the last game, whichever that is. Seems like something way too big to wrap up in a simple DLC. D: I don't know anymore. I wish we'd have an expansion.

Oh and Eham found a way to copy armors: See 2 leliana's (one is josie with Leliana's armor)
Spoiler
Don't suppose you know of any mods that would replace the female Keeper armour with the male one? I know a female model for it exists in the game because I've seen an elven woman wandering around Skyhold's garden in it.
EDIT (because I was off topic)
Solas' butt. Carry on.

I agree, but it depends on what'll happen next. Or, rather, whether he'll be important to the plot or not. All right, he IS important, but he may not be the focus of the plot, at least not for the next game or two. And they'll have to conclude the PC's story somehow, so this should be dealt with in this game, not somewhere later.
On a sidenote...
Also, happy birthday!
I hope you'll get a happy ending as a late present ~
Every time you say that I expect my world to turn over :|
What is itttt -curious-
baby i'm about to rock your world....
as soon as this video finishes uploading. it's taking forever.
So far as the Andraste and Shartan lovers thing is concerned, I pretty sure the subject never came up prior to Masked Empire. Then just because Gaspard used this in a play as an allegory of Celene, her lover (which he was only guessing at) and himself, people have jumped on it and said that it could have been true. Why in the hell can't two people share a goal without being assumed lovers? Maferath has always been portrayed as jealous of the Maker, not Shartan.
As for Solas being Shartan, this seems unlikely since Shartan wasn't even a mage. Andraste gave him a nifty sword after they met. What is more likely is that Solas was semi-awake and talking to Andraste, so he either is the Maker or was pretending to be. Then when Andraste was martyred, he went back to his slumbers in disgust; hence the idea that the Maker stopped helping after her death.
When he talks to you after the rest have serenaded you and warns of the danger (as an elf) of being associated with the artefact in Cory's possession, I responded that I'm pretty safe because they believe in me and he comments that they have a tendency to make martyrs of their heroes. Could just be a random comment but after the epilogue I wonder if he had a closer link to Andraste's life. When he says you remind him of someone and then stops short of saying more, it could be someone back in ancient times or could be Andraste. Could explain why he worries about what could happen to Lavellan if he continues mentoring her. Also Bride of the Maker could be true in that it all happened in the Fade!
Would also point out that Andraste could have been an elf. Just because the Chantry always depict her as human means nothing. However, in the codex about her children, it mentions that originally she was thought too fragile to bear Maferath children, which is why he took concubines who bore his sons. Then latterly she had a daughter. She could have been a fragile human but it makes sense that an elf might have been thought too fragile to bear a barbarian's children.
I doubt they'd ever go this route. Having Solas be the one behind the Maker's role would be clear evidence that the Maker the Andrstian faith knows didn't exist, and they're not going to prove it one way or another.
Greetings, Solas thread! Newbie here.
You know, when this game first came out, I couldn't wait to see what they did with Cullen. And his character is just lovely, it truly is.
But that Solas.
Woof.
I might have a new favorite.

I might have a new favorite.
And Solas strikes again, stealing the attention of yet another Cullen lover.
Greetings, by the way.
I guess I'm the only person who feels absolutely nothing for Cullen. It's better than the utter disgust I feel for Sera or the contempt I feel for Blackwall, but still.
Oh well, at least I have Solas.
I... I need fanfic advice. NOT ABOUT SMUT. About writing...
Spoiler
There is so little Abelas smut romantic literature out there as it is... *miserable sigh*
And I am so thankful to be around friends in this thread. My sexuality has been (male) elf since 1976, and I have just now, at this very moment, owned it.
EDIT: Oh, oh! Here's an idea for an ancient-elf-friend-thing! What about Cillian? He shows up in Skyhold. I'd advise playing him a bit in multiplayer to get a good idea of his personality, though, or just having him in your group. He's a sweetheart who loves ham and once had a garden where he grew a lot of cabbages.

The fact that my non gamer friend (sort of of) couldn´t resist the egg speaks for itself ![]()
I always found Cullen sort of... boring. It was the same with Alistair. But that's just me.
Posting this for the weekday crowd:
My dearest readers and supporters!
The newest chapter of "Path of the Dreamwalker" has just been posted. This story is a large project I'm working in tribute to the fantastic characters of DA. I recommend finishing the game before reading, however the story doesn't follow the cannon plotline very much so spoilers aren't really an issue.
Here are details for those who haven't read it yet:
Summary: Scarred by war, torn apart by conflict, and tormented by chaos, Thedas is falling into shadow. The land's destiny has been broken, and there is only one who can reshape it and set things back on course. Mortals fight for power while ancient Gods fight to be remembered. Can one broken Templar's wish change the flow of time? (Cullen/F!Inquisitor/Solas)

I always found Cullen sort of... boring. It was the same with Alistair. But that's just me.)
Alistair was at least funny and had interesting relationships with other characters, particularly Morrigan. Cullen is just... there. I think I've even forgotten to finish his quest about Samson on my first playthrough (2nd playthrough I had Calpernia and it was way more interesting, plus had more info about Coryfish).
I like Cullen. I'll probably romance him at some point with a human. But I tend to go for the more narrative romance options, and Solas just wins out in terms of interest. Even if it doesn't end well, its just so compelling.
Sera I don't think I could romance. She's just a bit too...unpredictable. I do like her character and understand why she is the way she is. But just not someone I can think of making a character for. Blackwall...I don't know why he doesn't interest me romantically. He's definitely the character type I tend to like. I don't think I can put my finger on what makes me like Solas and what makes me dislike Blackwall, when they both have somewhat similar reveals. Maybe he'll win me over someday.
Bull is great, but like Sera, not a character who tends to jive well with my characters. And he's already pretty great with Dorian. I won't get between that.
Out of the ramen, and into the egg. The sensual allure of that confident egg is magnetism made flesh.
It's the mystery of the thing, I think. Cullen was predictable. Which isn't bad....
Just not very interesting.
I just hope answers don't take too long.
I never understood the appeal of Cullen either... in the first game he wanted to murder my mage and everyone she ever knew.
real romantic ![]()
Still, I'm happy the people who DO like him got what they wanted! ![]()
(Bad) Fanfiction idea!
Post game & after Solas disappearance.
Lavellan decides to write letters to the keepers of largest Dalish clans to inform them about findings in Temple of Mythal and invites them to see the temple for themselves. This brings on an excavation of the temple which shades light on some Dalish lore mysteries. The revelations in the temple encourage the Inquisitor to search for more old ruins of the sort, in hope to fill in the gaps in her People's history. This, in turns, reveals more about the true nature of Fen'Harel & of what happened to Arlathan.
After some inner turmoil... She gets inspired by Fen'Harel's intentions!
She decides to try and secure a land for her People as the Inquisitor and to lead a rebellion as mysterious character wearing a wolf mask, she gains followers all across Thedas and gives a hand in starting (and steering) a rebellion in Tevinter. All her followers wear the same mask, to present unity under the same cause and ideas.

WOOT.
Ignore me I'm being silly (and really inspired by a song called 'Uprising' by Muse), especially since the Dalish just would be very stubborn and very against the findings in the Temple of Mythal -sigh-
