Cullen did change a lot since DA2. To me he feels like a very 'achieved' character by the end of DAI. I can see him finding a nice little wife if he doesnt hook up with the Inquisitor. It doesnt have to be Quizzy. And I mean that in a good way. I enjoyed playing his romance and Im sure Quizzy and him went to Happyland after the game and started a family. It doesnt really need a follow up.

 

Whats special about Solas is that it could only be Lavellan (I feel the same for Zev and Garrus, might be why I always prefer those type of romances). Theres also so much potential to work with. Its keeping me interested.

 

If you don't romance him, you can walk in on him talking to a messenger. The messenger says that josephine wants to know his birthday, and he's like "why does that matter?" Because Cullen is so dense he never gets it when a woman wants him. 

 

He also says things about josie and looks at her sometimes in a cute way if you are not together. They make a cute couple, but I can't help but get a little jealous. Which I shouldn't, because he deserves to be happy.

I really wish I had a way to record these scenes for you, because I discovered something that'd make the Well voices even easier to hear - if you mute music in-game, it mutes the music in the cutscenes as well.

 

I discovered this because I was traversing the Hinterlands for the billionth time and wanted to listen to my own music, so I muted the in-game music. I forgot to turn the music back up when I continued with the main story quests, and let me tell you... the cutscene where the Inquisitor is leading the Inquisition to Skyhold is very awkward without any music to fill the silence. lol

 

If someone could find and extract the sounds themselves, that'd actually be best. There wouldn't be any interference from music or other SFX at all in that case.

I don't think we have a direct translation for daughter. "Len" is the general word for "child."

Starting my second play through as female elf.
Do you get any kind of extra dialogue/content if you are a Mage?

Only ask because first play through was as a Mage as well. Nothing to spoilery please if possible.

You do get a couple of approval bumps for the Arcane Knowledge perk during his personal quest, but don't have to be a mage to take that.

And I am so thankful to be around friends in this thread.  My sexuality has been (male) elf since 1976, and I have just now, at this very moment, owned it.

 

EDIT:  Oh, oh!  Here's an idea for an ancient-elf-friend-thing!  What about Cillian?  He shows up in Skyhold.  I'd advise playing him a bit in multiplayer to get a good idea of his personality, though, or just having him in your group.  He's a sweetheart who loves ham and once had a garden where he grew a lot of cabbages.

Is Cillian an ancient elf? I think I heard mention of him coming from the same clan as Neria (the Keeper). He's an Arcane Warrior, but I think that's because he rediscovered the ancient teachings much like the Warden did.

 

He's a total sweetheart, though. I'm all for Cillian fic (I kinda ship him with the Reaver).

 

Speaking of which, is anyone else here on the PS4? I'd love to do more multiplayer, but I'm more comfortable doing it with people who aren't total strangers, especially since multi is a lot more fun with voice chat. I had a lot of fun multiplayer-ing with people in the Garrus thread back in the day. I'm jellobell on PSN if anyone wants to add me.

 

(Bad) Fanfiction idea!

 

Post game & after Solas disappearance.

Lavellan decides to write letters to the keepers of largest Dalish clans to inform them about findings in Temple of Mythal and invites them to see the temple for themselves. This brings on an excavation of the temple which shades light on some Dalish lore mysteries. The revelations in the temple encourage the Inquisitor to search for more old ruins of the sort, in hope to fill in the gaps in her People's history. This, in turns, reveals more about the true nature of Fen'Harel & of what happened to Arlathan.

After some inner turmoil... She gets inspired by Fen'Harel's intentions!

She decides to try and secure a land for her People as the Inquisitor and to lead a rebellion as mysterious character wearing a wolf mask, she gains followers all across Thedas and gives a hand in starting (and steering) a rebellion in Tevinter. All her followers wear the same mask, to present unity under the same cause and ideas.

I think a shaved Christian Bale would be an amazing choice from Solas if he was ever played in a movie. Strong facial features with great acting.

I want a smutty fic where Solas and Lavellan are both really nerdy and trading lore and magical theory and stuff. Like they'll be sitting in the camp with others and they'll start talking normally about this stuff and as the conversation goes on their voices will get all husky as if they're talking dirty and everyone else will be uncomfortable because they can heir the subtext in the tone of their voices and Solas will realize it and suggest "perhaps we should continue this conversation somewhere private so we don't disturb the others" and then they'll leave and everyone else will be like "you two are not discreet!" and then they'll do the do while continuing to talk about lore and theories until they can no longer focus on the conversation and when it's over Lavellan will be like "that was a stimulating discussion."

 

Catching up on this thread, but your post made me laugh out loud so hard.  It's perfect and tantalizing in the most nerdiest of ways and I love it and someone please write it, maybe I will, maybe not!

And yes, Cillian is a Dalish who has studied the ancient ways.  He is my Lavellan Knight-Enchanter's best friend (and secondary hahren) and most likely the one she turns to after Solas leaves.  (That is, until Abelas shows up. *cough*)

My Lavellan really enjoyed exploring the couple of ruins we got to discover. She always brings Solas, but Im not sure how he would react... hes not too friendly to the idea of risking your life for an old trinket you dont know how to use.

 

How do you guys see those exploration quests RPwise?

I feel like at least Solas's ties to Lavellan will be mostly wrapped up in a DLC, while his character/purpose/the ancient elven gods will be resolved in the next game or two. Or up until the last game, whichever that is. Seems like something way too big to wrap up in a simple DLC. D: I don't know anymore. I wish we'd have an expansion.

 

on another note, it's actually my birthday today! i turn 18 and I am going to spend it playing video games and being very emotional about Solas~

I've never actually seen any of them show up, but I've seen two have their names mentioned in War Table operations. Argent the Assassin and Korbin the Legionnaire were both involved in resolutions of some random operations.

I think with the ruins, it's less about the trinkets and more about the dreams for him. He likes to sleep anywhere with a history, and sleeping in old elven ruins is a good way to learn about lost lore and culture. Even if Lavellan isn't a mage herself, he can still dream and tell her what he sees. Any writings or actual cultural artifacts we can't pick up in the game world would also be useful, and get some approval due to the acquisition of knowledge.

OK, that could just be coincidence, but if it's not-     

 

I do get the feeling that a lot of the different mythologies in Dragon Age are more connected then we originally thought. Not sure if I believe Solas is the maker just yet, but his whole thing about a God not having to prove their power certainly fits.
