I've never actually seen any of them show up, but I've seen two have their names mentioned in War Table operations. Argent the Assassin and Korbin the Legionnaire were both involved in resolutions of some random operations.

I saw a screenshot of (probably) an artificer dwarf with a weird headpiece like jewelers have. Apparently that's a multiplayer npc and she was caught in Skyhold

HOLY **** yOU GUYS FUCGK i just read a tumblr post by user willobea that goes as follows:

--------------

Happily reading through codex when…

"…and thus the Maker turned away from the world—but not before trapping the Old Gods in eternal prisons beneath the earth as punishment."

Now wait just a diddly darn second… *runs to Fen’Harel codex*

"His supposed betrayal of both clans of gods by sealing them away in their respective realms, never again to interact with the mortal world…"

---------------

I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO REACT TO THIS. IS FEN'HAREL-- SOLAS, THE MAKER? (i mean if he is then i think maybe he wouldn't actually be a god who created the entirety of the world, maybe a really powerful spirit-kinda-deal? maybe the first mage to walk the physical realm??? to walk thedas? HOLY **** WHY DOESNT BIOWARE TELL US STRAIGHT-UP)

is this also what flemeth meant?! when she was all "as i was betrayed - as the world was betrayed" meaning she's andraste?! was shartan flemeth's lover, and maferath was her husband that betrayed them?????!?!! waht IS HAPPENING

DISCUSS

Solas is not the Maker. There will never be a confirmed or denied Maker. Solas locked away the Elven Pantheon and Forgotten Ones which apparently have nothing to do with the Old Gods, though he seems to know something about the Old Gods.

Mythal was betrayed, and in her back story Flemeth was betrayed. I don't think Flemeth has anything to do with Andraste, especially since Flemeth was born in Towers.

:o  :o  :o

OK, that could just be coincidence, but if it's not-  :o  :o  :o

I do get the feeling that a lot of the different mythologies in Dragon Age are more connected then we originally thought. Not sure if I believe Solas is the maker just yet, but his whole thing about a God not having to prove their power certainly fits.

(btw if people are posting their multiplayer accounts, I'm on origin as KelseyAmell! feel free to add me!)

goddamn i feel like everything vital that's ever existed in dragon age has been connected from the very beginning and as soon as bioware reveals the truths we just sit there flabbergasted like "HOW did we not see that earlier?!"

i get so friggin anxious over theories of solas and the mythology of thedas bc i HATE cliffhangers and dragon age is just one. giant. cliffhanger.

What are these multiplayer people who show up at Skyhold? Can you talk to them? Do you have to be online for that, or must you do something in multiplayer first before these random npcs show up?

I have no idea whether you need to play multiplayer in order to trigger it or not, since multiplayer was the first thing I ever did, but

If he is, that means he had a relationship with Andraste. And...

oh.... we're Andraste's Harold... and he fell in love with us too....

We made him try and help the world again...

And that bald elf man in those andraste painting....

oh gods.....

A cycle.

I'm calling it now.  Solas is secretly everyone in the DA universe.  EVERYONE.

here's friggin hoping that bioware explains this sh*t soon solas doesn't just decide to peace out forever and leave our poor lavellans unsure on whether they should be sad, confused, or pleased that they dated a deity.

No.  Gaider has come out and said they will never reveal if the Maker is real or who he/she is.  It's a whole thing about faith.  If you make it real, then you kind of remove a lot of motivations for a ton of NPCs and even players.  Look at Cassandra and her whole story arc. I think Solas is just a very old and very powerful elf that was deified for his power at one point.  He locked up his other deified friends in the netherrealm of the eluvians thinking it would stop the wars and the slavery - haha fail. If you have Alistair as the warden friend and he talks to Morrigan, she will mention that her and her DA:O warden lover took sanctuary in another world.  So there are references to other planes of existence .

I don't want history to repeat itself. No Andraste as Solas's lover please. I hate hate hate the idea of playing a romance where the character will just be a reflection of a past lover.

Solas is definitely not the Maker. The similarities are a coincidence. We'll probably never know if the Maker is real or not. Even Solas wonders if there is some sort of Maker-like being, but there doesn't appear to be anything hidden meaning behind the comment. Other than the fact that he's an elven god. I think the point was to reinforce that Solas [and by extension, the other elven gods] are not true gods. They don't know where they came from, or what shapes the world.

The writing staff has said that we'll never know if there truly is a Maker or not. Its a matter of faith.

That must be why the text only say "may die" instead of "will die" during that one quest. ...And also why Hawke likes Fenris so much. :B

That makes perfect sense considering the entire game is just Solas's imagination running rampant while he drifts in the Fade whilst his body rests.

This. The main problem I have with Solas as Maker, is it changes the feel of the romance for me. It's less special, and makes it just seem like he has a weird thing for mortals. (I'm fine with other lovers, just the whole falling in love with a mortal feels too similar).

Also, just because the writers have said they won't confirm who the Maker is, doesn't mean THEY don't know who/what he is.

If Solas/Maker ARE the same, I don't think Solas actual made the world or anything. I think it would be the humans seeing something Fen'Harel did, and making up their own religion based off it because they didn't believe the elvhen ones existed.

nice nice. ambiguous gods and such B^)

on the topic of the maker, then, what does your lavellan believe? do you think she'd believe in him or not or leave it up to debate? personally, my elfquizzy believes he - and pretty much all other deities - exist, but just doesn't worship them

In the end, Solas has enough on his plate to really be the maker or even involved with Andraste. I hope they don't pile too much onto his character.

As it is, we can reasonably see him to blame for:

- The fall of the elven empire

- The breach

- "Kills" Flemeth. Sort of.

Additional Possibilities:

- Created the fade to house the elven gods

- Indirectly caused the blight if the elven gods are the ones trapped in the black city.

- Possibly introduced the other elven gods to red lyirum, if he and Andruil both entered the void.

Maker:             "…and thus the Maker turned away from the world—but not before trapping the Old Gods in eternal prisons beneath the earth as punishment."

Fen’Harel: "His supposed betrayal of both clans of gods by sealing them away in their respective realms, never again to interact with the mortal world…"

9 elvehn gods. 7 dragons.

Mythal and Solas were both gods, and are currently free. So that makes 7 elvehn gods which is the same as the 7 dragon gods.

Flemeth/Mythal could turn into a dragon. It can be assumed that maybe the other gods could as well. Which would make them dragon gods.

DA:I is not the first time Solas woke up. He hates slavery and always wants to help the people. The elves and humans were both slaves in the tevinter empire at that time.

The maker came to Andraste in her DREAMS every night. His relm is dreams. He heard her songs of sorrow and came to her to help. He fell in love with her.

Does that seem a bit familiar? Falling in love with a religious icon while also trying to fix the world?

It was rumored that Shartan, the leader of the elvehn rebellion, was Andraste’s lover. Shartan could very well be Solas, as possibly hinted in this painting.

[old elf dude painting]

Flemeth was betrayed long ago. Could the betrayal be andraste’s betrayal? She was betrayed by a man she loved. Then, Mythal came to her after she was burned at the stake.

After Solas saw Andraste betrayed, he left to slumber again. And mythal lived on through andraste and then through her daughters.

So, elf faith and religion can be delusional and a lie, but humans can't? That's a bit biased. If the maker is just an mistake or an lie, then it simply is. I don't know why people are utterly desperate to keep Chantry religion intact.
