The first time I went there, I accidentally locked Solas in a cage while I was solving the puzzle... >_>
Too bad we can't keep him locked up after the breakup.....I DEMAND ANSWERS! You don't come out until you answer meh!!!
The Grove of Ghilan'nain in the Exalted Plains. You've got to find the entrance and then do a war table mission in order to have it excavated. That opens up a new area with a camp. The puzzle room is somewhere in there.
And to further elaborate on this, it's in The Dead Hand ruin.
You enter the grove, make camp to your left, and walk off to the right. First left leads to the Crow Fens/dragon/Offering to the Dread Wolf statue area. BUT if you keep walking and take the second left, you see a big stone hand and a hole leading into the ground. The puzzle's down there.
Not fond of the idea of Flemeth being Andraste either, but I found this while reading through some codex earlier
I don't remember exactly what it is, but there was something about Flemeth only having daughters?
Seems like too much of a coincidence ![]()
So she could either be really Andraste or a descendant

Yeah, too many coincidences. I'm convinced that Andraste was another of Mythal's meatsuits.

The 2nd time I went there, I purposefully locked Solas in a cage and left him there.
It's the little things.

Well...Morrigan has a son, and if she's Flemeth's biological daughter this might just be a coincidence. I wouldn't be surprised if Flemeth was a descendant of Andraste, though.
Also keep in mind, I'm sure some of the similarities are intended to keep people speculating. The thought that Flemeth might have been Andraste isn't a new one. But I think, given the fact that we are presumably closing the book on Flemeth for the time being, her reveal as being Mythal is as far as it will be going. We already know what the developers intend to do with Mythal's spirit unless it has changed.
It isn't impossible. I just can't fathom why they would pile so much upon two characters. It would be very hard not to make it come across as contrived.
THIS
Yep, considering that Fen'Harel is the only "loose" Creator besides Mythal, that image pretty well wraps it up.
EDIT: WAIT, no pointed ears!!! Could that be Corypheus?
I could imagine Solas as Shartan, actually. It wouldn't break my suspension of disbelief of feel like an obvious retcon. However, there is not real indication Shartan held any romantic feelings for Andraste. Indeed, considering the emphasis on the unreliable nature of history we get in DAI, I wouldn't be surprised if Andraste and her disciples and anything else around her would turn out to be horribly mangled by history anyway. So chill out.
THIS
OOooooooooooOOooooooo. Things are getting GOOOOOD.
There are probably more than one foci in existence. Actually, that's pretty much definite. And didn't Dorian say that Tevinter Magisters used similar orbs, the conversation implying they might have been taken from elves?
THIS
Well, ****...
Why does his coat look like it was drawn by Gustav Klimt?
How do we know that's of Shartan? He wasn't a mage, and the wiki says that it is a picture of Tevintar. Who use Foci.
Edit: [Specifically, it says 'the weakened imperium.' ]
There are probably more than one foci in existence.
True, true! But the implications are sooooo delicious!
THIS
****.
Where are these images from?
I don't want solas to be shartan...but damn it.
That picture

I'm not sure whether the ears are pointed, but I think it might just be the angle making them look round. There's that other picture where Shartan holds a Key as well (the anchor is referred to as a key...).

Happily reading through codex when…
"…and thus the Maker turned away from the world—but not before trapping the Old Gods in eternal prisons beneath the earth as punishment."
Now wait just a diddly darn second… *runs to Fen’Harel codex*
"His supposed betrayal of both clans of gods by sealing them away in their respective realms, never again to interact with the mortal world…"
I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO REACT TO THIS. IS FEN'HAREL-- SOLAS, THE MAKER?...
I'ma take a shot at explaining what I think of this. I'm sleep deprived so here's hoping it's coherent.
We have been exposed to three major religions in Thedas.
Andrastians and Tevinters seem to believe in different sides of the same creation story. They worship a Maker and believe Andraste was important to him.
Dalish have strung together what pieces of history they could salvage and sewn together their patchwork origin-of-the-universe myth starring the Forgotten Ones, the Creators, and the Dread Wolf.
The Dwarves honor the Stone and their Ancestors.
The only thing these three groups have in common is that they probably believe that the other groups are full of it, or at the very least, just plain wrong. However, just like in real life, their creation stories contain similar elements. For example, you can find mention of a great flood in most real world creation stories - dating back even to Ancient Egypt.
What we know is that some god-like beings were sealed away. We know that the Dalish, Andrastians, and Tevinter all have ways of explaining how that happened. Andrastians say the Maker did it because of Vint Magisters. Vint Magisters say they were already gone when they got there. Dalish say Fen'harel was responsible for it all because he's just a bad puppy. We also know that because Fen'harel is Solas, they're all wrong.
Solas doesn't believe in the Elven Gods. He lived with these punks, after all, and it does seem that he is responsible for their banishment. While that would make him the parallel of the Maker in that particular part of the Andrastian/Tevinter story, it doesn't mean he's the omnipotent deity who created the world.
The more interesting question is whether or not he believes in a Maker. Some banter to that effect:
Anyway, TL;DR of my post: Solas isn't the maker. He's Fen'harel. He's a powerful, generally well-meaning, ancient elf who has made a lot of mistakes and who needs to just let his Lavellan love him dammit. :C
Not that I wanted to support the Shartan is Solas theory..but this was in the wiki:
Hawke can find a book written by Shartan which can be gifted to Fenris, one of the Champion's possiblecompanions. Hawke can also loot the sword Glandivalis that once belonged to Shartan from the pride demonHybris. Interestingly, Hybris says that he has "fragments of every fool who held a throne, here or in the black."
"in the black."
IF Solas is Shartan, and IF the black city is Arlathan (like some people suspect)....that that quote could be telling....
Well, Kieran's probably male because he held the soul of Urthemiel?
Or maybe because he's the product of some sex ritual ![]()
Am I remembering it wrong, but didn't Morrigan say it'd be a boy?
