No, I'm saying if you could have both Solas and Fenris in the Fade, it would probably be because they're desire demons.

I have not yet read them! One of my christmas presents, actually. I did know about the Maric blood, but that does make sense as far as how they got ahold of him. 

 

They are awesome, I read them while lying on a blanket at the beach.  It was the Pacific NW too, so a little stormy and awe-inspiring.  I have a couple books coming, AND I CAN'T WAIT.

But he hates mages and I normally play mages who want mages to be free.  He would totally be a rivalmance for me.

That's how I played it.  I enjoyed the, "I hate mages almost as much as I hate myself, but you're just so amazing I don't even care" aspect of it.

O_O What if we all got it wrong. Maybe Solas IS a desire demon and that's why we all desire him. He's not actually a spirit of wisdom or a pride demon. The opposite of a desire demon is a choice spirit. Solas wants people to have freedom to make their own choices. It all makes sense now.

This makes me realize that, out of all the protagonists, Lavellan is the harem queen. Is there another protagonist that rivals her amount of potential romances?

I have been lurking for a while and I really dont like the idea of Solas being shartan or the Maker
One thing to note is almost the history from that time period is distorted with legends. Its hard to discern what really went on doing that time period.
I initially agreed to the Imperium's opinion that Andraste was just a powerful mage who might have come across a spirit.
People have romanticized the idea over the ages using "Maker and His bride"

Nope. Which is why my usual manwh.ore playthrough is gonna just be a...regular...wh.ore playthrough this time (gonna have to come up with a better name now...) 

 

Except not even really that cos I think most people she'll just be kissing and then breaking up with...which disappoints me, but whatevs.

Nothing wrong with Solas porn, but SUDDENLY PORN isn't always a good thing...

I can't choose between Fenris and Solas, it's too difficult.  And too soon.

 

My canon Hawke was a pro-mage mage who friendmanced Fenris, they're actually very sweet together.  Unless you go out of your way to antagonize him, Fenris is very calm and gentle with Hawke.  Mutual understanding and empathy is important.  One of my favorite things is getting Fenris to smile and laugh, and he's someone who really needs it.  I also really love the character growth with Fenris romancing a mage.  *sob* And now my Hawke is dead.... *sobbing forever* 

 

As for DA2 style elves, I actually really liked them.  Even Zevran, once I got used to the change.  And while I can still grouch a little about changing the size of the elves, I'm pretty happy with the middle ground style in DA:I.  Yes, even the male elves.  I like that my male Lavellan is distinguishable from a human with pointy ears.  Reminds me of some old fic I wrote for myself a long time ago where there was a mention of my Surana being very self-conscious and having a bit of low self-esteem growing up in the Circle, because he was so much physically smaller than the human boys.  This originally tied in with a bit of headcanon I had that he grew out his hair to cover his ears to blend in more (due to the hair in Origins covering the elf ears in a way that bugged me lol).  I like to think Zevran has since helped him appreciate himself more.

I imagine that 'revelation' discussion between Solas and Lavellan will be quite... interesting, whether it's the Friendship is Magic route my male Lavellan took, or the star-crossed lovers that most of the rest of this thread experienced (if not literally everyone else).

The romance talk can get kinda overwhelming, it's true. I'm really hoping for Solas DLC that gives everyone an explanation, while still having meaningful content for those who romanced him. Even those who didn't romance him have really strong feelings about Solas, and pretty much everyone who's played the game seems to want to see this resolved.

 

And aww, Sera. I was fighting the dragon in the Exalted Plains with Sera, Blackwall, and Solas. Solas went down and Sera yelled, "Elfy! Get up!" But in a really caring way. And just before that I got the dialogue where Solas was trolling her because she put lizards in his bed. Even though they don't always get along, I like to think those two have a certain understanding.

Yes! That banter was adorkable beyond all measure!  Interestingly enough, I also encountered a dragon right after said banter, and this being the first time I took Sera to a dragon fight, her exuberance at seeing that dragon made me "lol" and "aww" so hard!  Now, the next time I have those two in a party, I will carefully listen to what she says when/if Solas falls.

It kinda looks like a familiar bald head- and muscular butt, though the face is a bit too heavy.  He kinda strikes me as... wolfy somehow, though.  Maybe because of the flared guy-liner?  Have you guys seen this before?  What do you think?  There are a TON of protector-wolf-statue-monument thingies in the Graves, could this be Fen'Harel?
