It's the keeper robe. Definitely my favorite armor for a Dalish mage inquisitor*wub*
Your avatar is interesting, too. What outfit is that?
(I got the schematics from that last dragon in Emprise du Lion)

I think you and I are part of the few who actually didn't mind the change to elf facial structure in DA2. There were plenty of not so great looking elves in DA2, but guess what? That's life. Not everyone will be super pretty all the time, even in a video game. lol And yeah, they could have done a better job changing Zevran's face to fit the new look, but I think he's the only elf I had a problem with in DA2.
I've always liked elves, but I've never understood why their ears seem to be their only defining trait in the vast majority of media.
No, you two aren't alone ![]()
I'm was really glad when they changed elves, I never liked the whole humans-with-pointy-ears thing. I like that they have their big eyes and Greek nose.
I also like the fact they've tried to made them lithe (though they still fail a bit in that department, they look more like underfed teenagers).
They really failed with Zevran though :<
But they also failed with female Hawke in DAI >_>
I wouldn't say they know nothing. The kernels are there, but they've been distorted, and as Solas says, the farther they go on, the more the distortion grows. I do think that many of them will not come back. Maybe I've gotten emo as I've seen clan after clan wiped from the face of Thedas, but I think only a remnant of the remnant will be able to transition to whatever's next. The rest will become what humans think they already are.
This makes me feel so proud, and I'm not sure why
SOLASSIANS (Solamancers, Solavellans, uhh how are we called again?) UNITE - so the creators may show mercy and unbreak our hearts!

I didn't mind the change in DA2 too. I liked them big eyes, the elfy nose bridge and that their bodys were slimmer.
Its not the slim skeleton I have a problem with but the absence ob any muscle, especially now in DAI.
I mean look at Quizzis noodle arms.
And for some reason the elves in Mythals Temple, they are different, look at them yummie legs!

And now the elves look like they have a serious eating disorder...
I want them to look like Abelas. Solas looks at least mostly healthy, depending on his armor. (Doesn't Solas even say he was a warrior? Even as a mage, all that running and fighting gives you some nice muscles?)

I think it's more like "Screw fixing these animations! we're giving Solas a human mesh".
Abelas' body is perfectly nice elven body.
edit: to prove my point on animation. They gave dwarf inquisitor a box if romancing iron bull to kiss. Also I stare at mesh files every day.
A lot of us were surprised by this smooth as hell egghead, I think. ![]()
I went into Inquisition dead set on playing an Dalish archer. I had Tabris from Origins whom I really liked, but I considered Queen Cousland to be my canon run. So, my Tabris became Lavellan come Inquisition (still the same at the core, just with different origins, it worked for me). I wasn't planning for her to go for for any particular LI from the get go. I thought, let's just talk with these folks for a bit and go with what feels right.
As early as Haven, Solas stood out to me as the most interesting of the lot based on the stuff that he says. Then the Fade happened, and that was it.

I didn't really mind the DA2 elf design, though I did have some slight problems with it. xD
Fenris, Merrill, and Orsino look rather pretty in that design but some others, not so much. ![]()
Also, Abelas sure is one fine specimen of an elf. Woof! ![]()
Wouldn't mind seeing him again. If he didn't die in your playthrough that is.

I was not prepared. This unassuming little elf turns out to be the smoothest mother-fucker in the entire series. The only way I know how to describe that romance is cupid taking a dump, putting it on your doorstep, setting it on fire, ringing your doorbell, when you go to answer the door you instead end up tripping and face planting right into it. It was so good and so horrible all at the same time. Like I've been playing the Dragon Age series since Origins came out and I've never had any reason to post or use these forums before this. I had to create an account for this. It gave me feelings and now I need a DLC or something because this is not ok.

That Cupid analogy, utterly priceless!
Welcome!
I didn't really mind the DA2 elf design... much. xD

Some armor gives Solas "standart" male elf (quizzie's) body, that's why.
When he is in his personal armor, he looks perfectly fine. ![]()
Yeah but why do all all the work for his amazing (hot) elven bodys only to use them for the Myrhal elves and nobody else?
Maybe the modders find a way? I wouldnt mind Solas with Abelas body (and armor) ^^ *drool*
To save time on making new animations. By using a human mesh, solas can use the same animations as the other companions and there is a large proportion of which are human. Rarely care for sera but I'm going to assume she also has human mesh since she's larger than an elf inquisitor so that they can reuse animations with Josephine.
Since bioware added an extra year to develop solas and cullen romances, it would have been easier to use the animation blackwall was using onto cullen and solas rather than spending time making male elf animations specifically for Solas.
edit: crap. Now that I think about it, I haven't animated or rigged in years. Just take this with a grain of sand then.
^^ my Lavellan will go and search for Abelas if Solas never comes back. Then they make cute healthy looking elven babys.
Now I'm in the mood for some Abelas smut fic...
Speaking of elven babies, confession time! Before the whole Solas-breaking-up-with-you-and-then-finding-out-he's-the-Dread-Wolf bit, I used to fantasize about my Lavellan and Solas having elven babies together... But nope! Turns out Bioware had other plans for Solas!
I'm late I know. But a woman has to sleep and dream of Solas sometimes.
And you people are insane, so many new pages ^^ My likes are gone and the day hasn't even really started.
Anyway, can we talk about this Rift/Breach in the picture? WTF?
Ugh, that picture reminds me that not long after that Alistair went batshit and killed Yavanna. Which is the Alistair I like least in all of the possible Alistairs.

I love the high nose bridge, and labor mightily in the CC to get it every time, but the hunched shoulders and spindly limbs just have to go. The artists need to take a Mass Effect approach like with the Asari. We're vain people and we want PCs to look athletic and sexy and powerful. Most people, anyway. If it simplifies the animations that elves mostly share a human body model, so much the better.

Sadly, knowing Bioware, no main character we'll play will ever end up married and with babies...
Holy moly I'm a bit late but that Fenris art
I'm such a sucker for elves it's ridiculous. About Abelas' armor.. didn't the modders find a way to put one characters' armor on a diferrent character? Wouldn't that work with Abelas and Solas in that case too or is it more complicated than that? (Ha! *ahem* sorry..)

From what I can recall mesh swapping for DA:I tool is still in development. Yes there are pictures and sitting in their 3d programs, no, it's not public (to import) yet.
I wanted to face palm. It's like how did I not see this earlier? Like literally anywhere in the game:
Oh hey look a statue of a wolf
Oh hey look another wolf
Oh hey look another wolf
Hmm... I think something's up with Blackwall...
Oh hey look another wolf
Oh hey look another wolf
.. continue for 83 hours.
It's sad. I'm a forensic science student, my investigative skills should really not be this bad. But then again, I'm also the person who romanced Solas on my second play-through because I wanted to see what would happen. List of things to not put on a resume.
Like this wolf mountain in Emprise du Lion?

My third time running through this place and I never noticed it before now. Clearly I need to look up more often. And now I wanna climb on it. :3

Back in the day, you could barely look up! *shakes cane*

I think they all use the same animations, animators just apply them to different rigs. Except class and gender specific animations and cutscenes of course. But even then in cutscenes the player character uses standard "one-fits-all" male animation, if the cutscene is not unique for certain Inquisitor (like romance scenes, for example)
I noticed it just as Solas made a comment about there not being as many spirits there. So maybe the Dalish idea that Fen'Harel keeps away bad spirits isn't superstition after all, lol.Like this wolf mountain in Emprise du Lion?

Vivienne gets pwned by the Sky Watcher in the Fallow Mire when she pulls one of those. I love that guy.^What she said.
On a different note. There I was, talking to Lysas in Redcliffe Village, listening to him ramble on about using his powers to grow crops and not be in wars, or whatever.
Cue Vivenne with something high-brow and condescending... *collective eye-roll*

*keeps fingers crossed for the male keeper armour for women*
I'm no modder (at least, not for DAI) but that should be simple, right? There is an elf wandering Skyhold's gardens wearing it.
Speaking of Fen'Harel and wolves, does anyone know if he says something specific when you first run into the possesed wolves in the farmlands in the hinterlands? Or when you were given the quest by Dennet's wife to clear them out? I could have sworn he did. I know I had Solas with me at the time, but I can't remember.
Not sure if someone answered this. But when you kill the demon controlling the wolves he says something like "The wolves must be happy to be freed from the demon's control".
