If you choose that option do you still get a dance? didn't try it since I don't want to go over the whole cut scenes.

No. But he puts his arm around and you lean on his shoulder.  If it wasn't for the BAD clipping issues, I would prefer it over the dance.

No dance, but it kinda looks like they're kissing at the end <3

I think, I actually  I prefer this version now that I have seen it.

I actually replayed through the entire last part to get both endings.

If it weren't for the clipping it would've been a really, really, cute one :(

Just about how the techniques are Elven, and he tells you all about Arcane Warriors if you ask him, three approval bumps, it seems a bit crap that it's so easy to get approval bumps borked by something like completing his personal quest *sigh*. But I said that I hoped they'd be proud that one of their own was still using the techniques, he said he hopes so too. I was never going to have an Elven KE because of the chantry ties, it always made me feel a bit weird, I don't like playing circle mages, but seeing it as Lavellan taking it back from them as AW in headcanon makes me feel a bit better.

There's a story behind that hat and I want to hear it :D

I'm still annoyed that they shut down an entire forum section because of one thread, the mods could have actually done their jobs instead using the ol' burn it and salt  the earth tactic.

Huh? what happen? I've been out of the loop.

And that pretty much sums up DAI.

Huh? what happen? I've been out of the loop.

It's something that happened ages ago before the board switch over.

The Miranda thread got rowdy and in response the mods shut down the Character section of the ME3 board.

I got the impression that was mostly preistley's doing.  But the Miranda thread was god tier level of toxic, and the Tali thread was god level of weirdness.

It's funny because they're not actually much larger than ordinary deer... they look much smaller than the harts etc.  So I really think what happened is the harts were in fact supposed to be halla... but then the devs changed their minds and now we get to ride around on red deer/American elk things, and... halla are now tiny.

... I wanted to ride a halla.  They're so pretty...

Either way, I remember Felassan said something about halla being much smarter than horses and therefore harder to ride.  New codex info in DA:I suggests that they literally cannot be tamed any other way than by being friends; people who try to "break" them like some people do horses, often end up impaled on halla antlers, or killing the halla because they just don't respond well to that kind of treatment.

Also remember that just because what the Dalish believe is incorrect, doesn't mean there is not even a grain of truth in it.  For instance, they were right that Fen'harel sealed away their gods.  They might be right that elves became halla, even if they are wrong about Ghilan'ain becoming a halla herself.  I repeat my suspicion that they were originally her slaves.

Catching up, but wanted to point out that the "taming" of halla sounds a heck of a lot like "taming" griffons (I'm currently reading "The Last Flight", so that's top-of-mind for me at the moment).

It probably means nothing and is just an interesting coincidence, but I felt like pointing it out. The whole mounts-as-friends-and-partners thing rather than actually bending an animal to your will/command.

It happed over a year ago, so I cant remember the specifics. But from I can recall the tension between two memberst got to a boiling point, and then it broke out into personal attacks, hacking, and death threats. One of the members made another miranda thread and pmed the mods telling them to delete the other thread, and vice versa. It even had it's own little factions..it was very messy.

So the mods just nuked the entire section into oblivion, with their uber awesome mod powers.

Any day filled with Solas is a good one. This place is like a good nicotine patch when one can't play. :D

I just can't get good with Blackwall. Especially when he got all self righteous when I used underworld connections to bail him out. I wanted to hop off my throne and whallop his ungrateful arse. Talking about my sullying myself. Bastard should show some gratitude that I valued him. I totally wanted to have a Beauty and the Beast moment where Lavellan shouts "FINE! Then go ahead and DIE!"

Seriously. I was like, wait, what do you mean I can't execute him myself? I've been making major decisions based on that bastard being a Warden.... And this is the time you choose to.take away the execute option, game?

The Miranda thread wars were legendary. That was about when I left BSN- without the character threads to talk about, it just wasn't the same. Glad that DA now has some characters I feel interested in discussing!

Does anyone have a version of the knight enchanter dialogue if you are an elf? Unfortunately I had so much approval with Solas when I got to Skyhold that I chained all of his scenes at once and never got his specialization talks.

Burn and salt is a very popular tactic by these mods. They have to know that just riles people up more. Lol.

My phone doesnt autocorrect and it stresses me out.

That would be the most terrible, mundane reason for certain end game events ever.

"What happened to [redacted]?"

"I was sick and tired of all these motherfucking dread wolfs in this motherfucking Fade."

<edit> What the what? How come the filter puts asterisks for other four letter words, but not The F Word, even though it's usually taken more severely than that synonym for poop? </edit>

Ooooh, there's a filter?  I thought you all were just super polite.  I was putting in my own asterisks, or deleting words entirely hah.

I couldn't forgive him after he told the story about the little dog.  I was like, W.T.F. I'm glad I could never muster enough enthusiasm to romance you.

I don't think the majority of the wolf statues in the game are intended to be Fen'Harel himself, but it is a pretty nice foreshadowing point that you've been surrounded by wolves since the beginning. Wolves are the symbol of the Inquisition, at least as far as Solas is concerned. You're his little pack.

What would they be, though? They're in areas with elven temples and ruins. All the Dalish camps have the tiny little Fen'Harel statues facing outward. I think this is just an in-your-face redemption of the Dread Wolf.

Yeah, the pictures pretty cool. I found it on duckduckgo search engine.

Yep, exactly that sort of drama that turned me off Cullen, and some of that drama spilt onto tumbler, and DeviantArt. Which turned me off even more..I'dsay it was almost as bad as the Miranda thread drama..(which saw the entire character/romance subsection of ME3 forums shut down).

Can you say, in a roundabout and uncontroversial way, what was causing drama? Cullen's so bland, I just can't imagine what the fuss was about.

Just about how the techniques are Elven, and he tells you all about Arcane Warriors if you ask him, three approval bumps, it seems a bit crap that it's so easy to get approval bumps borked by something like completing his personal quest *sigh*. Ack!! My KE would have loved this dialogue.

That's it. Replaying Lavellan game AGAIN. I'm in that dead zone anyway. You know the one, when Solas drops his bomb and suddenly all those side quests you were going to finish before the end game seem like drudgery.

Yikes, seems like theres a lot of different things that can be missed due to bugs. I somehow managed to completely miss the fact that your companions had the spec books and went through half the game before figuring it out! So glad I did that in retrospect!

I had no idea about the crazy Miranda/Cullen threads... The weird Tali stuff was infamous across the internet so I knew about that, but never heard about all this other drama... So glad people are nicer here!

Oh, I was just in the storm coast at the red templar stronghold and Solas mentioned that "let's not linger here" line again some of you got earlier in emprise du lion, so I'm quite sure that it has something to do with the red lyrium and not the elven god statues.

I've been wondering about that....I got that message near the Warden outpost in Emprise du Lion. I figured it was all the darkspawn that could blight him and turn him into an archdemon. The storm coast has darkspawn as well, was it near one of the Deep Road entrances?

In regards to the wolf statues...

We see two types in DAI:

One where the wolf is sitting with head tilted up and back as if howling. We see this one specifically at the Offering to the Dread Wolf shrine in the Exalted Plains (one black wolf and one white wolf, even), but also scattered throughout elven ruins and temples. Which seems to clearly represent Fen'Harel.

These:

offering_to_the_dread_wolf.jpg

The other is the more "relaxed" pose, with the wolf laying on its side and head looking towards you/the distance. These are all over the Exalted Plains and in various elven ruins (Temple of Dirthamen had several). The one at the starting camp in the Emerald Graves gives you a codex entry on how wolves were partnered with the Emerald Knights. So, it seems this style of wolf statue represents either those wolves or the Knights.

These:

I have a wonder if there is any relationship between that at all.

Popping in real quick to share this banter between Iron Bull and Solas that I found very interesting. I omitted the side-comments from Dorian and Vivienne, but you can listen to the whole thing here if you prefer.

Spoiler

This makes me think, Bull must have felt that there was something suspicious about Solas early on, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. Dude is perceptive.

I definitely think Bull was the closest out of all of them. [Well, with the obvious exception of Cole.] There's several dialogues where Bull questions Solas. Not in a mean way, just in a very observant manner.

Oooooohhhh. I hate it when those things happen in moments like that!

Like when you ask Solas for a dance in the deeper female voice, the voice switches to male for a line (!) and it's pretty damn awkward!

I'm also not sure if the comma in "Ar lath, ma vhenan" is in the right position... is it?

(Why, Bioware? Why?)

I believe it's because of the red lyrium.  All the companions - or most - have ambient dialog when you wander into lyrium infested areas. Mostly complaining that they want to leave.

I registered on this forum only to say that those wolfs were Emirald Knights companions or smth like that, but I was too late =)

For now its already impossible to read all you guys have written, so I just say, that I now when I saw a "hug" option after the ball, Im not sure if I would prefer to dance if I decided to play the game once more (and I've already spent 120 hours for two playthroughs) =)

In the Temple of Mythal, the second type of statue (the "relaxed" wolf) is the one that triggers the conversation between Morrigan and Solas about Fen'Harel, so in that case (at least) it's meant to represent him.

...I remember that it was definitely that kind of statue because I was jumping all over it while they were talking. >_>
