I still have like 10 pages to read >< but I need your help cause I trust you and you're the best.

I will soon start another Lavellan playthrough (ugh I'm obsessed), but I'm having a hard time with the CC.

Which one do you prefer? And which one looks older?

Thanks <3

Thinking about the back masked dialogue. "Go to him... the calling." Maybe The Calling was a way that the elven gods/ old gods communicated with each other. Once nobody was there to pick up the phone, darkspawn started doing it. This could be how Corypheus faked out the Wardens- he's using Solas' cell phone. Maybe that's also why Mythal didn't contact him earlier, because until the Well she thought it was spam calls from Corypheus.

Now I'm just picturing this as Solas' ringtone:

On a more related note, what if the Elven Pantheon aren't from Thedas? Sigil, City of Doors The Crossroads lead to other realities, perhaps the ancient elves traveled too far and came across beings with powers that were considered to be god-like?

I found this in the Temple of Mythal:

"His crime is high treason. He took on a form reserved for the gods and their chosen, and dared to fly in the shape of the divine. The sinner belongs to Dirthamen; he claims he took wings at the urging of ghilan’nain and begs protections from Mythal. She does not show him favor, and will let Elgar’nan judge him.”
For a moment there is an image of shifting, shadowy mass with blazing eyes, whose form may be one or many. Then it fades.

I think not. Considering the datamined info, I assume that Morrigan will have this control. Which makes sense from the technical standpoint - it makes her relevant to the Elven Gods story no matter what. Otherwise she wouldn't have to be involved if the Inquisitor drank from the well themselves.

Can you just imagine the new nickname options Varric would come up with? Because ain't no way it's staying Chuckles once it comes out that he may have an alter-ego with furry paws. :P

I can also see The Iron Bull egging him on to transform into some big ol' wolf, too. I mean, we saw how excited he got at seeing the dragon vs giant fight on the Storm Coast. Hey, the weird elf the Inquisitor was banging is actually some old elven god they call The Dread Wolf? I can already hear it now... "That's bad-ASS!" Either that or he'll completely horrified because demon/Fade/gods/stuff.

Instead of "I want to be a dragon!" we'll get "I want to be a wolf!"

Haha I really need to see the rest of the inquisitions reactions, chances are someone will make a wolf pun

I really really hope they bring the HoF back, even though a lot of the fans would ****** and moan in various ways.  I loved having Hawke/Alistair/Loghain at my side, even though it was far too short and ARGH that decision.

It would be utter hell to try to recreate them in the new CC, though, considering how default Hawke looked.  FemHawke was okay, but OMG dashing handsome Garrett is no more.  :(

I think the top one looks the oldest.

I have a preference for the middle option, but I'm also a red-head, so I think it's just natural bias on my part. ;)

I have a question, partly for me writing a story.

I don't know how widespread this idea is but I have seen it brought up a couple times and want to make sure I'm not missing anything. Why do people think that the veil went up at the same time that the elven gods/forgotten ones were locked away? They could be two separate events but I wasn't sure if there was some lore nugget I completely overlooked. Thanks!

1 looks the oldest, but there's not a lot in it!

I like all of them, but I think I just about like 3 the best! They all look pretty/badass!  <3

This. This right here. Just took me to an awesome place.

Anyone familiar with the show "Archer" should get what I mean. But you bringing that up just made me have a mental image of that song going off as Solas's ringtone at the most inappropriate times, like how Archer's will go off with some asinine ringtone in the middle of an undercover spy mission or something.

Just imagine that chorus suddenly going off:

* In the middle of a high dragon battle

* During a Corypheus speech

* While deciding what to do at the Well of Sorrows

* While Mother Giselle is trying to start an impromptu a capella rendition of "The Dawn Will Come"

* During an important judgement the Inquisitor has to make on her throne

* Any point in time during "Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts"

* Right after "Here Lies The Abyss", when somebody asks "Where's (insert the sacrificed person's name here)?"

My sides!

Being a redhead I always make my characters red heads, most of the time.  So I am drawn to option #2.  But I will say I think I like #3 the best.

Does anyone remember how old Zathrian was in DAO? If I remember correctly the werewolf curse was suspending his life but is it possible he was one of the ancient elves? And if so I wonder if he had any connection with Solas. They remind me of each other.

He's not nearly as old. It's mentioned his children died because of the humans, and we all know Arlathan fell before the advent of the humans. So he's probably born after the first Exalted March on the Dalish.

I don't know how widespread this idea is but I have seen it brought up a couple times and want to make sure I'm not missing anything. Not an expert, but yes, it's quite possible they aren't connected. Would make sense if they were, however. Maybe would even make for a better story, thus the theories.

The possible relationship between her and Fen'Harel could be fun if they deem to give them one. On one hand, she's part of his oldest friend and Mythal essentially suicided herself to help fix his mistakes. On the other hand, with Mythal's spirit she's a potential wild card with no real affinity to the old ways and could stand in the way of whatever he has planned.

Yep, could be terrific. I happen to love the whole Solas/Morrigan dynamic in Temple of Mythal - I wonder if it was foreshadowing?

All elf party ftw! My choices would be Sera, Fenris, Solas/ Zevran, Fenris, Solas/Merill, Fenris, Solas/and Sera, Zevran, Merril just to see what would shake loose.

I wonder if they will eventually take into account the overall agencement of characters we played in the DA universe and how they affected Thedas as a whole... Like if the warden and the Inquisitor are elven (and Hawkes lover), someone is bound to think theres an elven revival there, to a degree. I mean thats many elven 'heroes' in such a small time span.

Same thing if all 3 heroes are mages, it should affect people's imaginary and reflect on Thedas.

I just hope the have some awesome dialogue options with wolf puns once the quizzy finds out

Terrwyn would so do this.

"Howl you doin'?"

"I...excuse me?"

"I'd wolf you down."

"I don't..."

"Wolf got your tongue?"

"That's not even-!" *sighs* "I suppose I deserve this."

"This is a pack of fun."

I don't think there is one. Its really hard to say when the veil might have been created. Only that it did not always exist.

On one hand, Solas seems to directly remember a time without the veil, and it is often implied that the lack of it was part of what made Arlathan's magic so great.

On the other, the ancient elven orbs from Solas's quest are said to strengthen the veil. That implies that the veil existed during Arlathan. Assuming he is telling the truth about what it is they do. [There is also the possibility that he is the one who created all of them to strengthen the veil as apart of his prison. Which would explain how he can sense them.]

And finally, we have Fen'Harel's orb which acts as a key. It could be used to support either theory. Fen'Harel creates the veil, and then the orb to act as his key. Or perhaps all the elven gods possessed such a key, and that was the source of their godlike control over Arlathan.

I started my second Lavellan playthrough almost a week ago, and just finished with the CC last night because I created her about 40 times :lol:I can never decide…

Anyway, they're all cute, but  I like the third one best. And the first does look the oldest.

The barefeet thing is pretty bizarre. I can understand Solas might not be bothered walking on the cold snow barefoot, but it seems like its just a natural thing for elves to do. They have magic feet.

In the end, Solas got cold feet anyway and ran away -_-

Hey gals and guys, Patrick Weekes favorited my tweet about this thread :)  He fav'ed the one about 1500 pages too

Out of likes, so here's a quote :)

So at least someone hit the spot, we know it for sure!

As I remember, someone (Leliana?) said, that some research was made and it appeares, that Solas' village he is from is an old elven ruin. How exactly can I accquire this scene, does anyone know?

I feel like they'll either bring the HoF as a protagonist, as the worst cameo ever (e.g. just their feet), or not at all.  There have been so many changes from DAO to now that there's not an easy way for them to accommodate them all. On the one hand I'd love for the Warden to show up again. On another hand I get a headache just thinking about all the whiny fans talking about how x isn't just like they remembered it from 10 years ago, or how their HoF wouldn't do y, or how the new storyline doesn't give them the ending they want blah blah.

I thought the War Table mission was a nice way to incorporate them without actually having to figure out how to do so.

Solas talks about a time when Spirits and the elves co-existed, seemingly without the Veil. Human history always mentions a Veil, as far as we know. So it seems like the Veil would have been installed sometime in between when Solas was wandering around the first time, and when humans came to Thedas.

Though I do wonder if perhaps it wasn't so much that there was no Veil, but that it was thinner and/or not everywhere. A codex at Skyhold mentions that the Veil is particularly "old" over the Keep, which suggests that the Veil was not created all at once. We also know that Solas has never been physically in the Fade, nor has he been to the Black City (or it seems that way from his dialog in the Fade), which would suggest that there was either a Veil before at least in some places or no Fade.

I believe it is an annotation to Solas's codex entry after you beat the game. But someone can correct me if I'm wrong. I haven't played much in the end game state.

Agreed! I loved seeing cameos pop up on there and thought it was a clever way to give old characters' nods without having to totally remake them (again) in a new engine.

Hmm, I am finding I am more and more dissatisfied with party members' banter on relationships. I miss the side talks you could have with them about it. I loved Varric's "So...you and the broody elf?" talk in the tavern and the jealous talk of Anders in the sewer where he questions what you see in Fenris....Hmmm, sidenote Bioware seems to like their dogs and wolves....

Is this the first game where no one tells you you're making a mistake by dating the one you're dating? In DAO it was Wynne, in DA2 it was...almost everyone...

Can't remember anyone pointing out that Solas was bad news though!

Too many romance options, too many variables. I guess this is why there are no romance conflicts. too. And honestly, DA2 had you build much closer relationships with your companions than DAI.
