Oh, the reality is, when they finally get around to announcing the last three romance options, two fan bases are going to be sad pandas. Ours could be one of them. The romances were decided and written before there were fan bases for the characters with the exception of Varric, Cass and Cullen. And as Bioware has said many times, if they are romances it is not because of fan service but because it tells a really good story and would fit with the themes of leadership and faith. 

 

But for now, Solas hits every wish I would personally ever have for a DA romance and his personality is different enough from the other potential interests and the ones that came before that I would like to see it play out. If he is not a romance, it is not because Bioware doesn't like me or because they like Varric or Iron Bull better, its because of the story they wanted to tell. So I will continue to hope until the end and then be either happy or sad. But most of all, I hope to be respectful to the other fan bases as well, because it is not a competition for some one to win or lose. The house has already played it's cards long before most of us even came to the table.

I'm sorry if I'm just jumping on the bandwagon now guys, but now that we know who Solas's VO is I am SO ridiculously excited! I loved Gareth David-Lloyd in Torchwood, and I'm sure he'll be just phenomenal as Solas. I can't wait to hear those beautiful Welsh vowels!

Oh, hey, look. I was dropping hints back in April because I wanted it to be true. AND IT WAS.

I don't think I can ever not choose David's writing (at least the first time), but if there's bisexual romance happening here, I'll definitely need to dedicate a whole playthrough for it. (And even without romance, I'll be exhausting all his dialogue EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.)

Torchwood is a sexy Doctor Who spinoff with a cast full of bisexuals. It's very angsty and good.

Of note, it also starred Eve Myles (Merrill). That could even be how his name came up (if you got one cast member, why not the others?).

MERRILL IS THE BEST NOW. SHE MAKES ALL THE THINGS HAPPEN.

I'm not familiar with the VA, I admit.  I barely watch TV at all, so I miss out on a lot of stuff.

 

Anyway, great VA or no, I'm not going to get my hopes up too high.  I'm still hoping-but-not-expecting.  Allan didn't come to troll us over romance, apparently he came to troll us over the VA (and maybe to let us know more info was coming, of some sort?).

 

Anyone tried asking about Solas as an LI again, now that his VA is known?

I still feel like it's still anyone's game at this point for the last remaining LI's. You honestly never know with Bioware, they are always full of surprises!

 

Of course I'm still hoping for Solas first and foremost, but there's still a chance and it might not happen. NOT to be a debbie downer or anything of course.

 

ANYWAYS I'm super stoked for Solas' VA!! He sounds like he'll do great as Solas I especially love how he talks when he gets awkward..ahhh it's perfect
