You have one more romantic cut scene left.  Hate to be the one to give you bad news, but nope you can't sneak off to kiss Solas like you can the other companions.

Welcome to the thread! :D

Damn it!

But thanks for telling me. I'm really hoping for some DLC that takes place before the ending, or after WITH Dat'Harel. I need more DA:I, but they can't make more content without the best character :(

Warm Bodies is a book, and a film based on the book.

It's a zombie romance, heh.

Almost as good Tina Belcher's fanfiction.

Hello!

I haven't really been hanging around this thread yet, because I don't want spoilers, I just wondered if anyone could tell me spoiler-free if there are any romance-specific scenes I have missed.

I'm 80 hours into my 3rd and completionist playthrough and so far I've gotten the romance versions of the conversation in the Fade and the balcony scene after All New, Faded For Her.

I've done Adamant and Halamshiral, and got to dance with Solas (squeeeee!!!), but I don't think I've locked in the romance yet. I was just wondering:

How many more Solas romance specific cutscenes are there? And is it possible to go and kiss him like with other love interests? Please no spoiler details.

Happy New Year and Dread Wolf Take You!

Nope. You're good.  Solas only has the three.

The reason Justice had to switch bodies is that the corpse he was in was decaying, as I recall, and there was a risk of Justice dying/being returned to the Fade because of it.  Corpses only stay fresh for so long, you know...

According to Solas's dialogue about his personal quest, every spirit has its own personality.  His friend Wisdom was different from any other spirit of wisdom.  She had different memories, different experiences, and a different personality.  Also, although she was a spirit of wisdom, she was clearly capable of experiencing other emotions.  Same goes for Cole, who can be excited, fearful, etc.  He's a particularly powerful spirit of compassion, and unique in other ways as well.  I remember there being dialogue about how he might become super-powerful thanks to the Inquisitor's actions, if he is made a spirit, thus, Compassion might one day have as big an influence on Thedas as Nightmare does.  That's not something to take lightly, and it isn't something that Cole could achieve as a human.

What I'm getting at is that spirits already are unique individuals.  Just because they embody a specific ideal (not necessarily an emotion) such as Justice, Peace, Valor, Compassion, Mercy, etc., doesn't mean that there isn't more to each individual's personality.  That's one reason Solas doesn't like them to die--they MIGHT be reborn, in time--it's harder if one dies because then they can't influence the world--but it wouldn't be the same individual; the new spirit would have a different personality.

That said, I am fine with either decision because both have their merits and their drawbacks.

But maybe it's Solas's influence on the Wisdom spirit that makes it unique, just like Cole wouldn't be Cole without having ever met the real Cole (that was a confusing sentence).
And I dunno. The more I see of the super spirit Cole the less I like. His banters with companions seem especially different, and not in the good way. Even Solas seems taken aback by a certain banter with Cole where he asks how he's doing (after being made more spirit) and Cole says he will heal the hurt and kill the killers and Solas is all like .... And his banter with Blackwall after being made more spirit telling Blackwall he'd kill him if Rainer returned.

Spirit Cole be creepy. I want my adopted baby brother back!

... Updated my fanfic.  Almost cried.

Ugh, I meant for it to be cheerful... Somehow, how things are going thus far makes sense, though.  I need kitten hugs. :(

Maybe things will go better for her later on... Seriously I wish I knew exactly where this stuff was going when I write it... I have a general idea, but the outcomes... This is what happens when I let my characters do what they want to do.

Edited to add:  That said, even if things turn out to go badly in my story, at least there's closure?

I'm hoping for DLC, for being able to run off and support Solas after he initiates whatever his plan is.  Could the Inquisitor seriously ditch him?  'Cause he'll be all sad puppy if things go wrong at all, ever... and she'll want to comfort him no matter how much he wants her not to.  We all know he has a hard time saying no to her...

Having a lifespan closer to Lavellan's would just be an enjoyable side benefit.

BioWare probably needs to get the Inquisitor out of the picture somehow, right? That could be an option.

The downside is I can only see that being available as an option for a female Lavellan who romanced him.  Still, it would serve as a bittersweet ending, which would probably satisfy most of us.

I doubt, given that only one race/gender combo can romance Solas, that if we do get any kind of resolution, it will be particularly in depth.  I would like for it to be, but I just can't see it happening.  So, the option to either run after him (thus continuing to romance him) or not (thus she isn't with him/under his protection/etc. later on) might be the best we can hope for, even if his romance is very popular.

Also that gif is adorable.

Can the DLC just be Witch Hunt all over again? Ariane and Finn are there, acutely aware of the meta-context, and it just ends with finding Solas at an Eluvian.

ROFL

The sad thing is, I kind of want this and have been picturing it. I'm prepared to be crushed. The really, really cynical side says that because he's a female only romance option, the resolution is going to be throwaway or not there at all.

As much as I love Solas, there are still times when I see his face and want to say F*** Y**! *10,000 punches*

I tell him that several times a day right now.

I'm post-breakup scene, just waiting to get the Cole banter so that I can move on to the final boss fight. I'm constantly bringing Solas, and Cole everywhere I go in order to get that banter, and I'm always telling Solas to f*** off. Ditching your girlfriend like that right before the final battle and not even giving her a proper explanation is not ok.

Three words:

Rebound with Abelas.

It's the ultimate revenge.  Well, Abelas is all Arcane Warrior-y, and not a god, but still.

Male Wardens who romanced Morrigan got to walk through the Eluvian. Witch Hunt didn't have a whole lot of depth but it offered the option for a more satisfying ending with Morrigan than "she ran off." There's a little payoff for all the DAO romances in DAI too. So a mention of happiness in the future could happen. I think that's all anyone can really expect. At least Solas wouldn't be all alone, right?

With the DA Keep anyone can make a fem elf who romanced Solas, to enjoy godhood and the dlc

I wouldn't think the Keep info for Inquisition would affect anything until next game though?

They can make a DLC a separate campaign, something like the Witch Hunt. It probably means an import from the Keep. (and possibly the loss of all your hard-won equipment, which is... less nice)

I did look up Cullen in the hope of a rebound, but alas, no flirt options available this late in the game.

If anyone is a Jesse Cox fan, he's posted some multiplayer DAI videos.  This is the 3rd one.  Sliiiightly Solas related (ok it's not), ok well it's more Solas Thread related.  Some highlights:  Abelas look alike that gets some amusing commentary from Jesse.  Also a request for fan fiction.  Yeah see that's us, right?  Totally related and not off topic.

EDIT

Found these in the Cullen thread here http://forum.bioware...ers/?p=18234691

I can't stop laughing.

*pouts*

I want to make my Lavellan immortal goddess and be protectors of elves for eternity and have many great adventures together with Solas. That is my enjoyable side benefit.

I spoilered myself for DA:O back then and deliberately went with Cousland as my canon to make her queen together with her boo. I want to elevate Lavellan to godhood since she romances a god *shakes fist*

...Yeah, I'm shallow like that

Team Optimism, give me happy Solas theories and things. I'm feeling down tonight.

Dr.-Who.gif

Oh!  Sad David Tennant, you're breaking my heart!  I'm not on team optimism, I love the feels from the tragic stuff, or at least the really hard choices like "Mwuhahaha!  I am David Gaider, and now you must CHOOSE!  Oppose your lover and save the world, but loose him forever; or choose to follow your heart and doom all Thedas!" (Because that's how I imagine David Gaider talks as he and his team write up the heavy stuff.  If I ever actually meet the man, I will surely be disappointed if at least one evil chuckle isn't in the offing.)   But as I've said before, anything to make David Tennant happy- so here goes my stab at optimism:

I'm fairly convinced that Solas's goal (be it destroying the veil or freeing the elven gods) will be accomplished in either DLC or an expansion before DA4, and DA4 will have a new protagonist having to deal with the results.

1) If either of those things happen, Tevinter seems like the place to be for the most exciting stuff - they're the group most likely to be at odds with any elves who come to power, and where the most mages will just go crazy if the veil was gone. And rumor is the next game will move to northern Thedas.

2) It would make sense for the Inquisitor to not be involved in the saving the world bit, if Solas needs the anchor in order to succeed in his goals. Which would make the Inquisitor either his willing accomplice, unwilling servant (power of mythal), or dead.

It just doesn't seem like an interesting game, to me, for DA4 to revolve around random new person finding out about Solas, and chasing him around Thedas trying to foil his plans. That's basically what we just did in DA:I, the difference being that if that were DA4's plot, half the players would not want to fight their "villain."

Everything you said is what I think.

If the elves gain immortality, think of what will happen in Tevinter! It'll be madness..  It's the next gen of mage-templar conflict.

Plus, I also imagine that Quizzy will be used to achieve what Solas wants to achieve, because of the anchor. If Quizzy complies it will end peacefully, Quizzy lives, but will probably have to disappear, since people will hunt Quizzy down (a good excuse to make Quizzy disappear, better than the excuses given to HoF), on the other hand - if Quzzy refuses Solas kills Quizzy and uses the anchor.

We need a setting for the next game, having a new protagonist chasing Solas around without even knowing who Solas is in the first place (Solas won't be a known figure before he accomplishes his goal), kind of weird? I guess they can make up a entirely new story but it'll have to be at least as epic as dealing with the consequences of Solas' actions. I'm pretty sure that since people got a vague idea of what Solas wants to do they'll get annoyed if the next game will deal with anything that isn't as big (I know I will, I'd be like "that's all nice and dandy, but I want the world to flip already!").

-Waves team optimism flag yet again-

Why do you like Solas? What about him? Why do you think he's better than the other options? Whats different about him?

I like him too. Just curious what other people think. :)
