*ahem* Hi, everyone. Um, I'm R2s Muse... and I am officially addicted to Solas. :/ I haven't finished the romance yet, altho I have a sense of where I'm headed (second playthrough, vague spoilers). I was told that I could seek comfort and understanding here as I head toward those dark, exquisite moments.

 

In offering, I bring Solas in ancient elven armor, which just about made me fall out of my chair when I equipped it last night. omfg.

That screenshot lighting really shows his age. You could see every wrinkle on his face. Like geez, I had to check the files to see if he had that many wrinkles.

That screenshot lighting really shows his age. You could see every wrinkle on his face. Like geez, I had to check the files to see if he had that many wrinkles. 

I was thinking that.  To be fair, he didn't sleep well and has been stressed over the state of his friend.  The lighting doesn't do him justice, either.  I just like it because it's one of the few shots I have of him smiling.

...and here comes the gush... (sorry!) but OMFG! I'm at the point where I am hanging on every word he says, and taking him through the Exalted Plains is just... like elven freakin' Solas wonderland. * wistful sigh*

LOL I know! He's just so, so... magnificent in it. Bare chested... but minus his signature necklace (wolf jaw? is that it? I've seen that around, but wasn't sure if that was confirmed?). It makes me feel like we're seeing a glimpse into his past. Altho... I think his Skyhold jammie outfit is still my favorite. And, watching him walk in it.

Ohh I didn´t think about that! Haha it seems I always go for the elves though lol, I´m so predictable

I lean toward playing it that way as human, I think that if Solas is in the wrong then it works for the story to be tricked by him in sort of ironic way, if he is in the right then well.. yay!

I think when  playing as elf things get far more complex, depending on if you are pro-dalish or not. And if you are playing as the anti-dalish keeper candidate thenby supporting the Solas you fail miserably at your traditional job to boot.
 

Playing as human makes the story more traditional,  playing as elf makes it more tragic in any outcome.

 

The thing it's I'm not even trying to calculate what the consequences are going to be, I'm really just trusting that he knows what he's doing, because he has a ot of information and I don't. If things go wrong but his intentions were good or the mistake he makes it's something he could not have predicted, I'm ok with that. The problem for me it's going to be if at some point he does smething I really dissaprove, something that makes him look really eavil to me. The heartbreak could be ten times worse than when he broke up with Lavellan  ... But I'm incapable of really imagine that happening. it won't happen

I'm extremely paranoid about all those devices Solas made me activate to strengthen the veil.

Why would he lie though? He clearly thinks that damage to the veil is the bad thing because it forcefully drags spirits to Thedas, converting them to demons in the process. That is why I am confused when people say that his goal is to remove the veil entirely. Unless, of course he will do it in the totally different way than Cory did with the breach. Grrr WHY is his third quest bugged, it could shed more light on the whole artifacts business!

Dark ritual with two massive pools of tears, the unborn will used to host the inevitable tragedy of the Solas romance.

At 10 years of age he meets with Flemeth who takes his burden, the soul of tragedy, and shapes it into hope.

Solas steals the soul nourished by Flemeth, assuming it's a soul of tragedy (seeing he is grim and fatalistic) and his destiny changes.

 

I've stopped making sense some time ago.

I think I love you.

I love how she sidles right up and basically dares him to kiss her. He shakes her off, so she takes it into her own hands. Ah, foreshadowing, my dear Del Lavellan.

The other, tears shed over his pain & purpose.

 

These come together to create the tragedy of Solas' romance.
