Lol, I know I'm not the only one who got brown. It's brown in all the videos I've seen of him too.
His hair was brown in mine as well and Loghain was his baby-daddy in this playthrough, so there ya go. 
I agree with a lot of this, but I'd say he isn't that much fonder of elves (the modern ones anyways) than the other races. To me he only seems a little less wary of elves because they're the most familiar. Elves get the same treatment in the "I hate you" dialogue, I believe. That's one reason I'm not as put off by his prejudice towards races as I could be, because it seems to stem from cultural elitism (which isn't necessarily good) rather than hatred for races because Qunari have horns or humans have round ears etc. There's also the fact that he doesn't let his prejudices blind him from compassion towards people.
Well, another interesting thing to note regarding his attitude on modern elves... right after I got back to Skyhold after completing "Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts"... I talked to him. I ended up supporting Celene only, apparently, after asking to spare Gaspard (I wanted Celene and Briala to work together, but apparently you only get one option to pick before the game moves forward, so after sparing Gaspard I was out of "options" *sigh*). Thus, I basically ended up not helping Briala at all and you can get his opinion on this.
I don't remember the exact conversation, but Lavellan apologized and he was confused at first. Then, he realizes she apologized because she didn't help the elves and both of them are elves, so she'd assumed he'd be unhappy. To which he responds, "I'm sorry, I was confused for a moment. I don't consider myself the same as other elves. I'm just me." or something to that effect.
His "like" of modern elves is only very, very slight if it's there.
Nevermind that half of that power seems to be in the Inquisitor's hand, which can tear open the friggin Fade. How crazy was Solas when he had hold of all of that?
If he ends up being the villain, he'll probably be one of the most powerful we've ever faced. I wonder how much he recovered by sucking up Flemythal like a milkshake.
Seriously, if we don't get to see him in a badass wolf form, I'll be so disappointed. Look how cool the dragon designs and movements were in DAI, can you imagine an enormous wolf? Especially if it's black with all the red eyes like in the tarot card. Cool. Way cool!

I was told that I could seek comfort and understanding here as I head toward those dark, exquisite moments.
In offering, I bring Solas in ancient elven armor, which just about made me fall out of my chair when I equipped it last night. omfg.

Why would he lie though? He clearly thinks that damage to the veil is the bad thing because it forcefully drags spirits to Thedas, converting them to demons in the process. That is why I am confused when people say that his goal is to remove the veil entirely. Unless, of course he will do it in the totally different way than Cory did with the breach. Grrr WHY is his third quest bugged, it could shed more light on the whole artifacts business!
I don't have a shot of the actual line, but he very adamantly says that we'd be better off with the Veil removed.
That screenshot lighting really shows his age. You could see every wrinkle on his face. Like geez, I had to check the files to see if he had that many wrinkles.
Which is a good thing. The fact that he's older fits his character even if he weren't an ancient god.

Whatever Solas does returns immortality to elves, and since Solas is afraid of dying alone (and perhaps watching loved one dies) then Solas will feel comfortable in the relationship if the lover can be immortal as well? Humans, dwarves and qunari won't fit this position, Solas would've had to dump them.
That way Solas & Inqi can be together forever?
To be honest, I just like to think that Solas just has his preferences.
I got a friend who likes pale skin and dark hair (he really isn't attracted to blonde hair), nobody questions him, they just accept his preferences.
I have a friend who is really put off by skinny, I got a friend who is put off by even slight chubbiness, I got several friends with redhead fetish (it is a beautiful hair color, though it makes me think of Iron Bull >_>, Lavellan is a redhead, I felt disturbed for her when he went 'mmmm... redheads'), I got a friend who pretty much refuses dating guys who are shorter than her (and she is quite a tall girl, so they are hard to come by).
They are all good people, even if I'll never understand them ^^;
Heck, when I was younger I had my preferences as well - they were entirely inspired by Johnny Depp (now I basically know that I'm attracted to intelligence, if a guy is smart [plus nice, obviously], I can find him handsome, even if I thought otherwise before XD [coughSolascough]), I couldn't imagine myself dating a white nerdy guy (even if they are usually spot on personality-wise).So, basically what I'm saying: whatever the reason for the gating, I personally feel it makes him more of a real person, even if the gating is inconvenient. I don't think they need to justify the gating, like they don't need to justify Dorian being gay (a lot of people wanted him to be romanceable for females, he is, objectively, really handsome + awesome personality) or Cass being straight, or Vivienne/Varric not even being options.The only thing I'm curious about is the "super story" thing, I just hope it means DLC.
I will wave that flag with you....please let there be a DLC where we can get him back....
You know, I can't help it but to feel Solas and Mythal could at some point have been the same way as he was with Lavellan. Were they got dangerously close to each other and then he also pushed her away. That sounds like an trait in his character, like he can't allow himself to be too close with someone.

Solas fan here. I beat the game, so I know what's up, but now on my female qunari mage, I'm finally taking a moment to talk to him.
