Bah! I can't keep up. Will back track shortly, but felt the need to post.
First, thanks to all of those that posted the quotes/paraphrases of the interview. That is much appreciated by those of us that can't watch/listen at this time.

Next, my knee-jerk reaction is that I will once again be spoiling myself on everything related to him. In future DLC's, or whatnot. If sadness/death or some variation ends up being the only path, that will be my cue to move along. Ambiguous I can live with. Flat out
DEPTHS OF DESPAIR I can not.

*heavy sigh*
I am
admitting though, that this is my "knee-jerk" reaction (I do get those...

). So we shall see.
Finally, the Mordin comparison. Honestly, I don't get why so many people don't see the one chance for him to live, as not having any redemptive qualities. I actually preferred what he says, how he involves himself with the
current and
immediate threat (to the WHOLE flippin' Universe), when you follow that path. Now, it does mean that in a play through such as that, that Eve is dead and Wreav is heading up the Krogans. So circumstances most
definitely help to define what makes his "living path", rewarding. But he is very clear on his intent to return to the Genophage cure. And that he will
not abandon it. Then he goes to work on the more eminent and severe task at hand: stopping the Reapers.
But the most important comparison for me (as I grasp futilely at the "optimism banner"), is the fact that there ARE choices with Mordin. A more classic death/redemption path, protagonist "is a douche-canoe" path, and the "live to fight another day" path.
This is what I hope is considered, when fleshing out Solas' arc.
Fingers crossed. *shaky smile*
