Ah, well, there is a difference btwn what I /want/ to happen and what I /predict/ will happen.  I am totally unashamed to admit that I want the sweetest, sappiest ending possible.  I want a goddamn picket fence and poetry readings by the fire for the rest of their lives.

Hear hear!

I know, Weekes cried, Lavellan cried, the fans cried, Solas probably did too...everyone is sad now AND WHERE HAS IT GOTTEN US. It's time to stop pretending that misery/suffering is elevating and bring on the happy ending we know we all deserve. :P

Hear hear! Hard won happiness can be more elevating than misery/suffering. One of my favorite things about ME was feeling like the hero that constantly prevailed against the odds. Dragon Age isn't really that kind of story overall, but it'd be so awesome to get a small version of that. I'll fight for my happy ending (I did 100% of what was required for the perfect FFX-2 ending) just make it attainable.

Listening to the interview...
I have tears in my eyes.
How PW described Solas feelings.

How he was so close to telling her everything.
Because he loves her so ****** much.
I'm a mess right now.
I need my happy ending. I just cant...

Oh god...

I didn't romance Cassandra, but I couldn't make her divine.  She was my bff and I selfishly need her with me AT. ALL. TIMES.  Her being angry at things makes my world brighter.  At least you get a choice.

Indeed. I'll honestly be surprised if they don't at least offer a choice for something bitter sweet here. That seems more unlikely to me than anything. They still have to think about their fans, no matter the story direction they take, and making anything linear and choice-less is just bad writing.

Of course, Solas is his own man and if he decides he wishes to ride things out alone, that's his decision. But making you fight him, when you don't want to, in a game where you could let loghain live, yea. I don't see that happening.

Oh I found the version of Little Red I love so much. This is similar enough to the story I like. You guys might like it too.

Staring Christina Ricci at age 16. F******* a dancer in a wolf costume.

"A Sl*t is she who eats the flesh of her granny"

Edit: Found better quality version.

Whoa...uh uh please don't compare Solas to Satan. Solas is not any where near as evil as the Devil.

I'm going to make this comment completely outside the context of religion and say that Satan was a Rebel God  Religious Entity as well. He was God's favorite and dared to fight against him.

So I just spent my New Year celebration (it's 2015 on this side of the world btw) listening to the Nerd Appropriate podcast with Patrick Weekes and I just teared up listening to the part about the Solas romance...

Happy New Year everyone... ;____;

I feel like well have to get something more. If one doesn't listen to that podcast then the depths of Solas' feelings aren't 100% apparent. A lot of us guessed, but there were a lot of people that were on the fence about his intentions too.

For all the other companions we the opportunity to substantially change their life right? Except maybe Varric? But you can change his life in DA2. We haven't gotten that with Solas yet. Hopefully it comes in DLC.

Hey, you're right, even Loghain had an opportunity to end decently. My expectations right now are so low, that this really cheered me up   thank you! :)

Gah, I ran out of likes. Yeah, I want that hard-earned ending. I think a lot of bioware fans do all the quests and do a completionist play-through partly because we hoped that it would give us the happiest ending. It's kind of like the ME2 ending in which your efforts throughout the game pays off. Unfortunately, that only happened once and for DAI, ME3, and DAII, most of the side quests have no impact which makes me sad.

So where do you guys read/hear that Weekes cried?

First community question asked at the end, and I was the one who asked it! I had been really curious because I know PW gets really invested in the characters he writes, and for how tragic Solas is as a character, I was dying to know. He said he cried especially with the romance scenes, so he must've cried multiple times.

ME3 had preparedness or whatever. That system was nice. A lot of people have mentioned that they expected their choices to matter more in this regard, so I wonder if it's something we'll see in DA4.

No prob ;) Really, even though I'm not romancing Solas, I don't want to have to fight him either. Solas is my bro. Even gave me a fort.

If he's trying to make the world more elfy quicker though... I'll do what I gotta do, but I'll take the first way out they give me if there's another way.

Well, ME2 had ship upgrades which were actually relevant to who survives. IN DA awakening, the fort upgrades are relevant to which places can survive. ME3 and DAI had ways to make you more prepared for the ending, but then it actually doesn't matter which is frustrating. Why give us the hope that all that preparation counts for something?

I'm so glad some people remember that he actually saved their life and gave them a magical castle, some other people really can be ungrateful ****bags...

It is possible we're not done with Skyhold yet. There's a lot of weirdness in Skyhold that doesn't seem to do anything. Like the evil book at the bottom of the stairs, numerous empty rooms, and the upgrades. [Although the text does say that the upgrades are cosmetic, and does not actually suggest they would give a bonus to anything.]

Still, creepy book.

Not to mention all the characters being like, "BUT WHAT DID THEY KEEP HERE IN THIS VAST PLACE BUILT UPON THE BONES OF MANY NATIONS?" = FORESHADOWING.
