Well, that one didn't bother me too much.  I can see the humor, I just... much prefer hearing Garrus' or Liara's cuddly dialogue instead.  It was soooo cute!

You don't romance him. You just wake up with him after getting drunk and boinking him whether your Shepard ever would actually do that or not.

We are...but i think it's somewhat warranted. We needed a break from crazy theories and crying into our pillows.

Is it bad that I always sabotage the genophage cure?  Seriously, I do not want the universe to be overrun with krogan and I don't think they're smart enough to control themselves.

No that choice was meant to be morally ambiguous either way, I think. Especially if you have Wreave (who tells you outright he plans to take revenge) instead of Wrex/Eve, but even still. It was a classic utilitarian choice for the greater good, versus a more deontological/moral absolutist choice.

Solas' character embodies some of this conflict too, I think. So did Anders (he would fall into the later camp, much more moral absolutist, letting the consequences of his actions fall where they may, etc).

Never played Mass Effect, but sometimes I feel like I've absorbed most of the plot from just reading the Dragon Age boards. :P

Solas almost tells you the truth. No. This... breaks my heart. :crying: He takes you to a romantic place just to tell you who he is, because he can't lie to her, he loves her too much. But he can't.

Then the kiss.
You can see how deeply he cares.

I can't even right now. Too many feels. And here I thought I could get over it somehow.

i was wrong. Oh so wrong.

This. Also, a consideration of past Bioware romances is relevant to our contemplation of the possibilities for Solavellan. The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior :P

I found some silly Solas art on another Tumblr, and a potential discussion topic!

http://limpstella.tu...s-boring-im-not

If your Inquisitor and Solas were headcannon'd into sleeping together, what sorts of Fade adventures would they be going on?

I just had to apologize to Solas.....that yellow plaid is a crime against nature. No matter who wears it. It's not even Apostate Hobo chic.

I see them taking turns on things they see. I see her taking him to some of the places she loved as a childhood, some fun hunts that end in kinky forest sex...mmmmmm

I'm terrible at staying on topic.  I bring up Solas on the Cullen thread, and on the Solas thread I'm talking about Mass Effect.

Shame on me.  Bad kalalala.

That..that doesn't really make it feel any better though does it, quite the opposite in fact :P

Edit: Top of page, shut up.

do you guys think that solas' romance will end badly, regardless on your decisions? like holy **** solas' romance is super sad and we all know now that he's a sad lonely person so do you think weekes will continue that sad lonely thing til the end? or maybe there'll be a happy ending?? I WANT THERE TO BE A HAPPY ENDING.

where is team optimism when you need them?!

Yes... how is it that ME always seems to creep in to, like every video game discussion ever?  I guess it was just that good.

Ahem- back to Solas.  DId anyone else find PW's response to the "Was Solas always an elf, or is he an elf who got inhabited by The Dread Wolf a long time ago during his wanderings in the Fade similar to Flemythal?" question veeeeeeerrrrrryyyyyy interesting?  I have always kinda gone with the idea that he was an ancient elf, has undergone Uthenara, is a reawakened dreamer, and so on- but some of the seeming changes in his personality that I've always assumed are just errors in story telling by the Dalish over the years might be better explained by the changes that occurred in his personality when Fen'Harel and Solas- bonded?  Is that the word, bonded?

I still tend toward the "he was always an elf theory"  but if he wasn't, then it could be an interesting option for future DLC.  Maybe our quizzies will have the chance to talk him dow, Saren-style (Damn it!  ME encroaches again!) and get the old soul to move on.

Okay, I still  cannot catch up with the thread, you're too fast, guys

First of all, thank you for retelling the podcast!

Secondly - we're all doomed! I feel it isn't going to end well, so I gracefully leave team optimism. I have no solid arguments, just this sickly gut feeling, and writers rarely abandon their core ideas of bittersweet plots just to do fanservice.

I must say, I am a grown-up woman and I totally squee at all this Solas content. Literally. Last time I squeed like this was when I read Rochester's confession to Jane Eyre.

It is so very disturbing.

I think this, too. I think he will either turn into something horrible and we'll have to kill him, or he will sacrifice himself in some way to protect or help his people. I think he knows that, and thus does not want anyone else to hurt when his future is so certainly bleak.

I can't make head or tails from the first line. He mentions being "real" in other dialogues but it appears to have a different meaning there. Sometimes it is "real" as in "different than expected", sometimes "real" as in "not a spirit", it's confusing.

Looking at the last two lines.... The "walk in solitude forever" part seems to refer to him thinking he'll be either the only immortal one left (because all the others will be dead) or the only immortal one with his destiny (guarding the gods while they're sealed away? Which I think is more likely. It seems to refer to an ongoing duty). I don't think he thinks he's going to die at all.

I think I'm leaning toward, Solas found Fen'Harel's wisp or whatever in the Fade. He's pretty honest, and when he tells you he grew up in a little village with nothing interesting, I believe him. If he was an ancient elf who was always involved in the gods, he'd probably at least mention growing up in a city or something.

That, and he takes special care to mention understanding the nature of spirits. In wandering around the Fade, it's possible he found Fen'Harel (or he found Solas) and because Solas understands spirits, he is the best person to understand and sympathize with Fen'Harel's plight.
