Did anyone else read Julie of the Wolves as a kid? I just had a flashback with all these wolf hugging pictures.

I wonder why they came up with the name "Solas."
It sounds like same as "solace" (IS THIS A CRUEL JOKE BIOWARE?!)
Could also accidentally say "Soul-less"

I read the sequel, too. It was pretty depressing, I seem to recall. ![]()

Solas means "pride" in Elvish. Hence, Solasen, the place where pride dwells.

Slight offtop: does anyone perchance know where the heck in Temple of Mythal this codex entry is? I cannot seem to find it.

I'm guessing they went with Solas for one of the following:
Solace- What he's ultimately looking for
'Sol'- root word for alone, desolate.
Solus- Reference to Mordin Solus, who Patrick Weekes wrote in ME.

You played correctly then, lol.
If any of you didn't turn your game off after the candle lighting scene or the fade tongue, then it's all your fault. You played the game wrong.

As I was saying, I would like, at the very least, for any further content to allow those of us who romanced Solas, to have a conversation with him (the one that beautiful jerk promised us before he left us broken-hearted and ALONE), and a chance to either remain in a, how can I put this, in a "long-term relationship", or a final goodbye, so that Levellan can either choose to be single, or choose to romance another. Whether it be current companions or any future ones they add in (*cough* Abelas *cough*)
That's all good and dandy.
EXCEPT
After Solas dumps you from the top of a really long flight of stairs, rips your heart and throws it to the wyverns to feast upon and then dances in the pools of your blood...
The romance locks :|
I don't think even a DLC will let us get our groove with another man, that's probably part of Lavellan's heartbreak? Refusal to initiate a new relationship as part of her still dealing with the fresh dumping (I'm sure she'll be able to pass it, at some point, just not within the boundaries of DAI)

According to the DA Wiki, it was or he was referenced in The World of Thedas guide book, page 32. Haven't read it, but I guess it talks a bit about elven language. It was released in 2013.

Luckily my Mahariel made Alistair king, so they're still "good." If being the mistress to a king who can't marry you while you both have a ticking time bomb on the Calling hanging over your shoulders is "good."
Is any Hawke "good" with their romance anymore? Hawke seems to either be in the stuck/dead in the Fade, or stuck/dead in Weisshaup....
If Solas doesn't come back to Lavellan, maybe she'll just take up a life of wandering the world with Dorian, seeing who can get the most hotties. That's the best happy ending I can come up with.
I figure if Hawke's still alive, there's still a future there. If Hawke lived, he'd go back to Fenris eventually. *sigh* (I couldn't kill Alistair, my Warden has issues. It might actually break him, and it would also mess with his narrative. This is also all his fault for giving in to Alistair's wishes and not making him king.)
My Lavellan is just going to work on Inquisition stuff, continue her own studies, and look after Cole.

But, but... Shepard could convince Mordin otherwise.
Well yeah, I it's not impossible to have Mordin live. But can't you only convince him beforehand? And only after a series of specific conditions/choices from previous games; like Wrex being dead, and other things...
. But at that moment when he's about to sacrifice himself, Shepard can't convince him not to, even with paragon interrupt, etc. I think they make it difficult not to have an outcome where he dies, because of the decisions you have to make to get that outcome.

That's pretty recent. It could have been created for DAI. Hmm, I'm hoping for solace hehe.

Not sure exactly where, but it was from one of the mosaics.
Was that word in the lore before this game?
Solas was a place name in a DA2 codex, and I assume we knew what it meant from somewhere, because the word and meaning was in the wiki long before DA:I came out.
