So, Team Optimism, how would you feel if it is revealed that Fen'Harel is only hitching a ride in Solas' body?  Would you still love him if Fen'Harel left his body and all you had left was a very confused apostate with very thin memories of a woman (Lavellan) that he loved at some point?

Yeah, I'd go for it.  Team Moving On approves.   :P

He'd probably be a very old apostate, considering his origin story.

Uth'shiral would probably stay with him even then.  She might be glad that Fen'harel was gone from him (might?  She definitely would...).  After all, he'd presumably be the same person, mostly, unless you run with the theory that Fen'harel is actually the dominant personality.

I do not believe he has body-hopped, personally, but the way Weekes talked, that's something we're going to learn in the future.  He couldn't tell because spoilers.

I took it as he was trying to figure out how to word it because people would be grumpy with him that the reason was to make it sad, not that he had to find a way to hide the real reason. Did it come across differently to others?

Hope that's how it was meant.  That's how I took it as well.

Bioware needs to pay their animators more. The animators for DA:I did a stellar job. There were so many times where the animations were so spot on that it actually took me out of the moment, which in this case wasn't a bad thing. I just had to take a second to get over my awe before I got back to the game. lol

Well...I agree the facial animations are wonderful, but...the animations for body movement during cut scenes are *cough* uh, not so good.
They make people look like rigid cyborgs is what I mean.

Now I'm getting this mental image of his big reveal being taking wolf form... right there in front of the waterfall with that thin veil... and Lavellan having a chance to run her hands along his furry shoulder blades in a moment of stunned disbelief and barely-contained wonder...

(You know, if you picked positive reactions and not, say, running screaming into the night reactions).

I think it's more likely he'd take dragon or wolf-dragon form; shapeshifting is a skill known to exist already (though perhaps not to the Dalish?), and 'wolf' seems like it would be a fairly obvious form to choose, should one learn shapeshifting.

It could also prove that he's a werewolf etc.  (Maybe he is?)

To prove his godly nature, he'd have to do something different.  The six-eyed wolf, or dragon form, or wolf-dragon... something that would definitely declare that this is the Dread Wolf.

I'm really very happy to know for sure that Solas definitely truly loves Lavellan and that it definitely hurt him to leave her. I was kind of worrying about that since he had no problem making Cole forget him and said that he wouldn't wish his path on his worst enemy, let alone someone he once cared for. That "once" was really sticking me right in the Team Optimism heart. But I think that PW made it very clear that Solas did not want to leave Lavellan...he had to leave her. That makes it better.

I previously thought he was referring to Lavellan as well when he says "Someone I once cared for". And found it strange that he would say 'used to' care for. But it seems he is referring to Cole. I saw a video with a human male inquisitor where Solas relays the same message to Cole. Unless this is one of the many glitches in this game... Or he says that about any inquisitor who he considers a friend?

No kidding. All praises should be sung for Jonathan Epp - I think he's the one that did Solas? You could tell what Solas was feeling even if nothing was said, especially in that last scene. It's incredible work.

Chick from the Notebook, and she's psycho, lol.

I did the same with a wolf gif earlier, ha. Never heard of wolf rain or whatever.

Lol. Gotta be careful with that. I've never watched the Notebook *lifts up shield*, but I have watched a little of Wolf's Rain. Hmmm, should probably finish it, but if I do that I won't have all this free time to harass the Solas thread!

Yes, it was Jonathan Epp. I remember tweeting a gushing post about how much I adored Solas's cinematic designer and one of the devs chimed in that that was who it was (not to be confused with John Epler, Bull's cindes among other duties, I'm sure). He does not have a Twitter account, but she assured she'd pass the praise along. :)

Like most guys, I only saw it because of a girl friend, though I admit, I like it, lol. Probably would have watched it myself anyway. Also, it's cool that it takes place in my state.

Lol sorry for the offtopics. :)

You mean how he jacked my crafted First Enchanter staff that had a Superb Dragon Slaying rune attached to it and had a DPS of 211...yes I do remember that quite vividly.

My Lavellan is angry options all the way! Although I don't know if she has the "courage" (stupidity) to try and fight the Dread Wolf...ah probably.

Poor Arya :'( all I want is fluffy happy bunny land reunion for all my fictional favorite characters!

Ok. With that ear tip, here's attempt #2 for Tarot card lookalike. Definitely close. The jawline is a bit hidden with the hair so it has the appearance of being somewhat circular like the picture (or a disney woman, take your pick). That nose is about as close as you can get, though. Turning the tip down even more results in it expanding somewhat, which makes it look less accurate. I hate that the eyebrows don't exactly match the hair, but I guess they're darker in the Tarot card so it works out.

Still not real sure about the eyes, since bringing them forward as much as the Tarot card makes her face look...weird. Maybe its the cheeks, but it's hard to make them accurate, without sacrificing some weirdness that thrusting cheekbones does whenever you try to make everything proportional.

Yup. Reminded me a lot of the time Alistair left without saying goodbye and took my stuff.

Although, maybe shooting me the bird finger on the way out of the Landsmeet counted as a goodbye.

That depends entirely on whether or not the person Lavellan was speaking to the majority of the time was Fen'Harel or Solas. If Solas is someone completely different, and it was Fen'Harel she loved, getting Solas back is not really compensation. If Fen'Harel is not apart of that personality, then she wouldn't mind.

Well considering he sacrificed himself for my mage...when I intended to have her sacrifice herself...well I don't think I could go through any death of his ever again. This accident occurred during my second or third PT and it was the first time I romanced Alistair...so I had no idea that he sacrificed himself.

I have the perfect plan to get Solas to fess up. Lavellan will tie him to a tree. Then put some wine, cheese, and frilly cakes in front of him but out of reach. Maawhahahah.

Nevermind me. I'll just walk out now with my silly thoughts.

She makes him so happy, and so sad, at the same time...

I wonder if part of the reason he falters on telling the truth is because he thinks she'll hate and/or fear him if he does tell her?  He may not even intend to tell her a thing about his plans; in fact his realization moments later suggests that he doesn't.  He means to tell her who he is.  For a Keeper's First, especially, that would be hard to deal with.

yes, especially the part  he gave Cory the orb and his involvement in the fall of ancient elves...

Those are not something one can handle easily...

A wolf-dragon...that would be...pretty darn awesome. I want one!

And would anyone be kind enough to share a link to the Mr. Weeks interview with those Nerd people?
