so......i'm currently in the middle of doodling some solas.  it's a bit hard, since i'm not using my usual style xD  i'm trying my own visualisation of how he might have looked in the days of ancient arlathan, when the elven gods roamed freely.  i'm ridiculously bad at facial expressions 8'D  i don't know how the pros do it >w<

I think June is responsible for dwarves. Or connected somehow.

I like the theory that June's essence is in Sandal. He's obviously more than he appears to be.

 

I know we're sorta seeing elven gods everywhere now, but the Sera theories are really interesting! I was also a bit suspicious about Leliana. Why of everyone, even Solas, is she so resistant to red lyrium during the In Hushed Whispers storyline? I don't think she's actually a god or anything. A descendant of Andraste maybe?

 

Also, thanks for linking all the wonderful Solas artwork folks! I now have this one as my desktop background: http://al-teya.tumbl...ge/105342463260. I know some feel it's ominous, and I guess I do too. But I interpret it as Solas being on the edge of a decision. One which might turn out horribly, but... maybe not.

Only possibility I can think is that perhaps the keepers are much more selective in what they consider to be 'true' magic. Anyone who is fast tracked to clan leadership isn't just a mage, but also shows a strong level of competency or possibly even breeding. Those who just have magical talents are run off, scapegoated, or for whatever reason not considered 'true' mages in the sense that future-firsts are. 

 

Or it could be that the keepers bully off the younger mages under pretenses and cover the whole thing up. Hard to say. But the impression I got from the earlier games was that all mages were valued.

Hey sorry to spam my videos so much here. I just like people's feedback and pointing out of errors the most here. Because you guys know the most stuff. 

 

 

The Great Dragons

 

That's likely what those special dragons are/were.  Thus far, they only appear in the comics.

 

It may also be that the Great Dragons are people-smart, or close to it.  We don't know because we've only met normal High Dragons (though there's a hint that the ones we met before in previous games might be different?  The dragon head outside of that cafe in the Orlesian capitol gives a codex entry mentioning that they may have been adolescent--but they could be a different kind of dragon, thus the ones in DA:I may be Great Dragons... I don't know?).

I've said before, I think Solas killed Felassan for being a traitor. There's too much evidence pointing to it. We know from the mages incident that he'll kill out of passion, and we know from Flemythal that he'll kill even a friend for the sake of his cause. I don't think he's evil, he's just a very amoral sort of character. It was a bit hard for me, because I really liked Felassan (he's in my sig even), but that's what it looks like to me.

I agree, I think it was Solas who killed him. Especially if Felassan's cut-off sentence was going to end in "...you."

There's got to be a pretty ruthless side to him that we haven't fully seen. Even Mythal refers to him as the Dread Wolf. You don't get a name like that by solving all conflicts through reasonable discussion.

From what I recall there is a lot of architecture that involves both trees and crystals intertwined to make sky scrapers. 

 

I'm not about to tell you what to draw, i'm just imagining what that would look like now. I bet there would be a lot of half nudity.... yeah.....

There has been a tonal shift in how the Dalish treat mages, since Aneirin was welcomed into Zathrian's clan after he was rescued, despite the clan already having Lanaya and Elora. He tells the Warden: "The tribe made me feel very welcome, as though I was a lost child. They taught me elven magics and told me the old stories, but I wasn't a Dalish any more than I was a Circle mage. I owe them much, so I stay close by, but I do not count myself among their number. My home is out here among the forest with the trees and animals. I learned to listen to them, and they taught me well."

 

Merrill also expresses confusion at how humans treat their mages, since she expresses that magic is a gift of the Creators, and sees little point in locking mages up in Circles where their magic does no one any good.

This new twist on Solas is being hard to watch for me

 

Me and my current BF have been together for 4 years. but we broke up for 6 months after year one. It was a bit of "I can't do it" and stay true to myself: being a single mom of 2 kids I had - and have - a major priority in my life that any LI can not hope to match. He has it too, someone he has to care for. He lives in UK, I live in US. There was no future that could be had for us that included our priorities

 

But being apart hurt so much We could not stand it so we now have been together for the last 3 years, but an ocean apart, only seeing each other once a in a blue moon. Or in the Fade on Skype. Is hard and there are more than a million ways things can go wrong but I know what it feels to be without him. Same for him. We just live "our thing" a day at a time.

 

I hope Solas learns the hard way how much it hurts to be apart from Lavellan. My Lavellan already knows and is trying to brave each day with a broken heart. If he ever comes back, she will yell and curse and cry but she will take him back.

 

I hope Bioware lets players chose to have their Quizzy end with Solas, even in a clearly doomed path, in some playthroughs. KOTOR had that with Dark Raven and Carth and was so poignant. He never leaves her and they die together saving the galaxy, his love wins her at the last minute, at the cost of both their lives. I only did that path once and cried for days but was really happy with the option  being there. It still is my favorite ending.
