I'm not sure Solas is capable of full disclosure. Even when he wants to. There's something about living with a secret for so long, where the very act of keeping it changes you. Let alone if...well you know. That time is longer than most.

*Gasps* I just found the theme for my story with your idea! I will post a video of the song that will hopefully bring it across. That is a good idea, but I am also thinking about maybe a one-shot or a three part story with a young Solas. We know he used to be rather wild back when he was younger so that could be fun to write. I don't think a lot of people would had made a story like that...then again I could be very wrong.
I admit since seeing some of the past stories, I've been wanting to read one of those.

Ah okay well then this is what I do when a scene is rather fast or I am too slow. I make sure that I take a recording of the scene and then you can play that recording back, pause it where you want and then take a screenshot! Hope this helps!

XD Thank you for your suggestion! I will have to check those stories out, but I will probably skim them more than anything. I want my own imagination to guide me not what someone already created; and I agree about Solas being a difficult character to portray...it will be interesting.

Since you haven't seen those that I mentioned, one is AU set in the past in Arlathan and Lavellan is a slave (at first), Brass's takes place post game and involves Abelas, I've been enjoying her take on Abelas. The one by Cheerios789 is also post game, verrrrrry post game. It's very emotional (for me). I can't really explain it without giving it away. I think what those 3 have in common is they seem to be more about the emotion/feelings and feel for me true to Solas.
I guess I'm not much of a help because I have no concrete suggestions rather than a very vague indication of what I have personally enjoyed.

I actually tried that before to place comparisons. The first video recording sources don't make good quality videos so I've given up on that idea.

So I just went through Cole's personal quest again and changed my mind about the choice >.< From spirit to human!
I've decided that the debate is as much about Solas/Fen'Harel as it is about Cole. He teeters on the edge between who he wants to be, too.

> As Cole is describing his experience of 'crossing over', Solas is staring silently (having had a similar experience?) ... "All too fragile when it's efforts to help proved to be in vain".
> "He made himself human. Humans change. They get hurt, and they heal". I can't appreciate Varric's line more in this context. It seems exactly what Solas could do with. Working through layers of anguish which haven't left him for 1000+ years and healing.
> Imagine if the whole of the elvehn race resisted change.... growth. Healing. If Solas/Fen'Harel is the example, show him there is beauty in that too.
So basically "get over it, Solas/Fen'Harel" is my new answer 
The race-gating... my Trevelyan wants to bone Solas so bad. It sounded like they just ran out of time/resources when implementing the romance. I came to accept that.
And I was so sorry to read about people's real life heartbreaks being brought up again by the Solas feels. (My own experiences are similar but I won't go into detail). Amongst the angst there is also a sense of "well played bioware. You know exactly how to get people to throw money at you" which, is pretty cynical I know. I've also been playing these games for years but only recently made this account because of this Solas phenomenon (?) it seems this really was the 'straw that broke the camel's back' for me ;-;

I love this photo. Also, I have to agree with your assessment of the Cole story. I got the same exact impression. In fact, Cole comments on Solas' problems with coming to terms with reality and Varric and Solas also have a beautiful discussion about that, too.
oooo this is really wonderful so far. got me right in the gut man. where are the tissues I can't take it anymore!
Now i'm thinking of reincarnations. At one point, Lavellan was a key who hangs on the key shelf. Sometimes Solas gets really sad without the key because without her, that means he's locked out of the house.
