Yesterday there was this discussion about Cory being blue in DA2 and now red.
Okay I found this in the wikia in the Codex about Lyrium:
Mages have additionally been known to suffer physical mutation: The magister lords of the Tevinter Imperium were widely reputed to have been so affected by their years of lyrium use that they could not be recognized by their own kin, nor even as creatures that had once been human.
So I would assume, the way Coryshite looks is actually how he looked while being the High Priest of Dumat. This didn't come from the taint. This is just the side effect of addiction to DAs crystal meth - Lyrium.
It is said he got the taint when he entered the black/golden city. This way he could communicate through the taint with the Wardens.
But maybe its different.
Cory is a dreamer, like the other magisters who invaded the golden/black city I believe.
Maybe he didn't communicate through the blight directly at first.
Maybe being blighted (as the Wardens are blighted) makes you more open to the fade and dreams, and since it also makes you paranoid, etc. its easy for a dreamer to influence you.
This is what the wiki says about people with the taint:
Those who come in contact with darkspawn blood or their taint often become diseased themselves, becoming ghouls. Once the taint progresses enough, the darkspawn recognize them as their own kind and ghouls can sense darkspawn. Such people show signs of insanity and schizophrenia and usually work for the darkspawn in order to craft their weapons and armor,
Since the Old Gods only become tainted after the Darkspawn finds them (or so they say) - why would they have the ability to influence them if they are not tainted yet.
The taint kills high though processes, makes you insane. The taint connects the darkspawn in form of a hive mind (with stronger, smarter darkspawn becoming Alphas/Omegas) And it allows a powerful dreamer/god/being to take control of them, or at least influence them.
I believe: The lyrium mutations in Corys body got infected AFTER the fight with Hawke.
Maybe (oh god I'm starting to hate this word) he started using red lyrium deliberately since it seems he have/give more power. In DA2 he could only influence the Wardens who are near to him. Not those far away. Red lyrium gave him the power to influence all of south Theads Wardens.
This leads me to the thought, that Solas gave his foci to an ancient tevinter magister who did NOT have the taint yet.
He was just looking monsterous from years of lyrium usage. He needed someone powerful.
Any Cory was a Dreamer and powerful mage. Cory being untainted... Besides him being a human there is nothing speaking against seeking help from him.
And Cory seems to be charming in his own creepy way. Many of his followers choose to follow him.

This leads to the next question: The first Blight.
We know it needs broodmothers to make darkspawn.
So the Chantry says: "Tevinter magisters go to the golden city, taint it with their sin, are cast down and start the first blight."
But all the darkspawn from the first blight had to come from somewhere.
The darkspawn needed to taint women and turn them into broodmothers. Then the broodmothers needed to pop out new darkspawn. This takes time
In 800 TE (-395 Ancient) the magisters invaded the city. In 800 TE, the same year, the first Blight started and ended in 992 TE. That's 192 years.
Masses of Darkspawn just appeared and attacked everything.
I found this in the wiki:
The Andrastian Chantry teaches that the magisters were trying to usurp the Maker's throne and were cast out of the Golden City for their sinful pride. In their depravity they sought the Old Gods, and, finding Dumat slumbering deep within the earth, began the Blight. However, if the Chantry's history and Orzammar's Memories are both true, then Tevinter mages would have entered the Fade, been cursed, fled, found Dumat, raised an army, and then overrun the western thaigs all in one year. It seems more likely that the magisters had already been seeking Dumat for some time. A few Grey Warden scholars believe they may have even found him by that time, and that it was he who helped them to reach the Golden City. Different groups of mages may have been pursuing different agendas that were later fused.[7]
So I believe that the Darkspawn was already breeding underground for quiet some time.
And what did Coryshite for 204 years until he was imprisoned? He was imprisoned in -191 Ancient. 12 years after Dumat was killed. When he wakes up he seems to remember nothing of this 204 years.
And only after the Third Blight (3:10 - 3:25 Towers - I want to remind that Flemeth was born in 3:00 Towers) did the Chantry start the story "Magisters invaded the golden City and started the Blights.
After the Third Blight, the Andrastian Chantry promoted the story that a group of magisters managed to physically enter the Fade and the Golden City of the Maker.[4] According to that story, this act corrupted the city and led to the creation of the first darkspawn.
In Towers the Tevinter Chantry also split up with the the Orlesian Chantry.
Badbad Tevinter Magisters you caused all this is a very convenient story for the Orlais Chantry.

Also! The meaning of Fen'Harel changed in Towers.
The Dalish use "harellan" to mean "traitor to one's kin," but the word does not appear in any elven text before the Towers Age. The ancient root-word is related to "harillen," or opposition, and "hellathen," or noble struggle. The Dalish call Fen'Harel a god of deception, but I posit a far more accurate translation would be "god of rebellion."
Again its the Tower age. In which Flemeth was born.

I have no idea what I want to say with that... I confused myself. But all this is so... To perfect with to many things that don't fit?
Maybe everything was not like the stories tell? Arrrghhh stupid obsession.
