Don't forget that at the end of Legacy Coryfish is hiding in the body of one of the wardens and looks pretty normal. (Well normal enough to fool Hawke & Co even if it was pretty obvious to us suspicious players).
The other night, a friend and I were talking about what happened at the Conclave, and Fen'Harel's true intentions behind giving the Orb to Corypheus. I cannot imagine someone who prefers intellectual subtle strategies as the Dread Wolf aim for such a fiasco. Most possibly the actual, uninterrupted ritual -- unbeknownst to Corypheus -- was meant to drop down the Veil, activate the dormant powers of the Orb, kill its caster (as powerful blood magic spells do) and bestow the Anchor on someone else, quite likely Solas himself. (Probably why he was present near the Conclave in the first place. A sort of proximity spell, if you will. Think of Morrigan's Dark Ritual and how she absorbs Urthemiel's soul regardless of whether she's in the active party or not.)
A lot of birds with one stone... If the ritual had gone right.
Instead we got a lovely Breach in the sky, the Orb became unstable and eventually destroyed, Corypheus walked away scot-free, and the Anchor was bestowed upon the Inquisitor.
Well done, Solas.
And the Divine. She disrupted the whole thing.
