I've been thinking of Solas' bone. Why is it black instead of white? Did he intentionally burn the bone or did he found it buried in the ground?

I assumed it was a coating to keep all together and shiny. If you keep the jaw of something and wear it like Solas does the teeth will fall out without something too keep it together. After the gum decays it's teeth become very easy to knock off. Plus, it could keep it from eroding. Time will wear away the bone too.

My Mage!Lavellan didnt drink from the Well because she knew it will impair her will (she had a moment of doubt and freaked)

Now I rolled Rogue!Lavellan who is hot tempered and impulsive. She is definitely going to drink from the Well but what reason can I headcanon for her drinking from it?
Having a hard time wrapping my head around it

I was similar to Eivuwan. Morrigan was an unknown and not to be trusted, especially considering Solas' words about her desire for the well. My Dalish was calculating about risks and battle. She would risk herself to be sure power such as that was used well. And she trusts Solas' counsel more than that of the strange human witch. If Solas didn't trust Morrigan, neither would my elf.

Now I rolled Rogue!Lavellan who is hot tempered and impulsive. She is definitely going to drink from the Well but what reason can I headcanon for her drinking from it?
Having a hard time wrapping my head around it

 

Being pissed at Morrigan and Solas knowing more then her about elven history and Abelas wanting nothing to do with the Dalish ? She could think it would let her understand the big secret everyone seems to know aobut and isnt sharing with her...

I've been playing my male Lavellan, and the other day or so I finally got to Skyhold, and getting some of Cole's intro banter again...  It's really interesting in light of all the controversy over what he means by "real", that he mentions that Pharamond was made "real" as a result of being cured of tranquility.  This seems to suggest that "real" in Cole's definition is someone who is connected to the Fade in some way.  (Cole also has a banter where he describes Solas as existing on both sides, and that this makes him seem more "crisp".)  This would lend itself to the idea that "real" or "our people" for Solas is specifically those who are Fade connected.  Mages.  Perhaps elves in particular (who are suggested to have originally all had that connection), but like how Circle Mages typically see themselves as mages before anything else, I think it's the same for Solas. 

 

Someday the magic will come back, all of it, and everyone will be just like they were.  When he rises, everyone will see....

 

 

Why do we all persume, that foci had to be orbs? I think it can be other objects, Andruil's spear has something to do with star grains, and we remember the Mask of Fen'harel, which could also tear the Veil apart, no?

 

If you finish Dirthamen's temple, you can find "Dirthamen's Wisdom", which is a shield.  It was apparently the thing his priests went to a lot of gruesome trouble to hide.  The text description on the shield suggests it had special significance to Dirthamen's priests, possibly as a way of communicating with Dirthamen.  Which sounds a lot like the foci...  The shield is one of those things I never sell, even though I doubt it will have future significance.

It's interesting that they're all going west... most people have speculated that the next game will be around the Anderfels / Weisshaupt because of the Wardens-- which are much more NORTH of Skyhold/Orlais than they are west. West of Orlais is something called The Tirashan forest, which is right next to such interesting places as Arl Dumat, Urthemiel Plateau, and the Sea of Ash.  Pretty Old Gods-y, eh?

 

If you've played The Last Court, the town of Serault is considered to be as far west as civilization goes.  And beyond it, there's some really, really strange stuff going on in the forest.  Spirit courts, and such.  There's a few War Table missions for Serault, but nothing else is touched on that I know of.  I'm kinda hoping for a DLC in the area, and I've wondered if what Solas and the Warden are looking for might be in that direction.

 

I usually run with Cass/Varric/Solas (original squad!) and am convinced that Cass and Varric belong together. 

And guys, I have this terrible train of thought and need someone to tell me it cannot be true:

> Felassan in The Masked Empire making a point of explaining the perfumes used in 'embalming' sleeping ancient elves

Please tell me that Solas doesn't have an 'original body' somewhere, sleeping? 

 

I know it's already been mentioned, but there's a codex in the area where Cass has the "perfume" banter, that says the smell is coming from the trees there.  I never wanted to say anything before, because it felt like raining on the parade...

Varric and Cassandra would be awesome.  Especially after meeting Bianca, who is... not great. And I mean, they flirt the whole game! The interrogation is like their meet cute!

I didn't mind Bianca. At least I don't hate her like a lot of Varric fans seem to.
My Hawke calls dibs on Varric if he ever gets over the memory of his lover.
And I think Isabela wants to run her fingers through Varric's chest hair if he ever becomes available. My dwarf Inquisitor has also been giving him eyes...Cassandra is going to have a fight on her hands.

I assume *everyone* has already seen this and talked about it in the many pages that I've had to skim lightly over and I am *completely* late to the party, but...

And Cole telling Cassandra that the spirit of faith was drawn to her (during the Seeker training) because of the strength of her own faith was really touching. I kinda consider them my power team of Compassion, Faith, and Wisdom now.

 

Also, has anyone seen this video yet? I think the conversation might only appear if Solas dislikes you.

He says it like a sarcastic joke, but holy crap, I honestly never really thought about what it would mean to remove the Veil. Solas is possibly the most gifted Fade mage alive, so is it that far-fetched to think he would have considerable control over the new reality? I adore him, but I don't know how I feel about that.

Just starting out in my Solas romance playthrough, and can I just mention that Levellan and Solas' flirting is adorably chaste.

 

If I hadn't clicked the heart button, I don't think I'd know they were flirting! It's like the early 1900s, all very proprietary.

I hesitate to expect where DLC may take us because DA DLC is notoriously tangential - in that line of thinking I'd say random character introductions and maybe a warden or blight story. HOWEVER, If I got my hopes up, it would definitely take us to the beyond in the west, to the crossroads and revolving around the network of eluvian mysteries, or to Antiva and Arlathan. Really anything relevant to the Solas agenda and romance as well as the spirit world.

Loving these thoughts...and I toooottaaallllyyy missed that last conversation. I think I mistook it for a joke. What are you guys thinking it means and is there a clip of it available?

I had a feeling he had designs along these lines when he kept waxing poetic in Haven about how good it'd be if the veil was gone and the Fade was just another natural force, like a river or the wind. That discussion up above, I hadn't seen till recently.

 

Solas, if this *IS* what you are planning to do, please tell me you at least have a good plan for this and not a stupid one?

 

(ps, I like thinking of them as Team Faith/Compassion/Wisdom. Or Team Virtues, maybe? lol)
