It's about time they announced Iron Bull. The amount of hinting was getting to the point of ridiculous.

 

My hopes for Solas have plummeted, though. Why mention specifically how open-minded he is if he's supposed to be race-gated? I imagine he wouldn't be a LI before he was race-gated

Y'know, maybe, just maybe, Since Solas doesn't want to be seen as, "just an elf" he will be available to anyone that  isn't an elf. Which is a sort-of-kind-of racegate.

 

Then again, maybe not.

I'm happy that we finally have a qunari available to us, and if we get Varric, that would be two species that have been romantically unavailable to us before now!

I'd be very happy with Bull being un-gated if it wasn't for what it suggested of Solas. If he's a LI.

 

It also worries me that Weekes is so focused on Bull at this panel. Makes me think the worst for his other character.

That would be a bit ridiculous, to have an elf who didn't want to have anything to do with other elves romantically.  Especially true because even if he doesn't want to be seen as "just an elf," there is a good possibility he's bald to show off the fact that he IS an elf...

 

And if he is open-minded, then he should not be against being with other elves.

 

No, I think what it means is our elf is asexual, and Bioware did end up deciding he and Blackwall are somehow "too old."  It will almost 100% certainly be Varric to round out the men.

 

And... okay I think Varric is great and all, but... I don't want to be in competition with a woman who may-or-may-not be dead.

Yupp, I am going to be seriously disappointed if Solas is not an LI. I've kind of thought for a while that if he wasn't they'd simply have said as much. But with IB not being racegated and only one companion LI spot left...:-/ *fan tears*
