Solas is sweet most of the time, but there is a part of his personality that is more like the dom Solas. Remember when he just grabbed your hand to close the first rift? He could have told instructed you to put your hand out instead. There was no rush.

I understand, but such things will still come up from time to time. Becoming upset over it every time will not make things better for you. This said, I'm not trying to force my opinion on you or anything, so shutting up.
I don't think it would be too hard for people to put warnings on NSWF stuff, or just a brief sentence of what it is! It obviously can't be enforced or anything, but I think it would be polite.

I don't think grabbing someone's arm in a tense situation to close a rift that spews demons necessarily translates how someone would behave in a sexual situation.

Especially with fics. If they come from the Kink-meme at least give a small description of the kink. If they come from AO3 and have clear warning tags, those are easy to include with the link.
Seriously, some of them contain non-con. It's never okay to post non-con without warnings.
Maybe we could add a new rule about adding brief descriptions or warnings to NSFW stuff. It'll have to be added to the front page if we want everyone to see it, though.

a] Only putting NSFW art/fic in the fanworks thread we have, to avoid unpleasant surprises (and mod action against people in the thread; make sure to link to these instead of posting them directly in the thread! I'm pretty sure it's against the forum's rules to post stuff like that directly on the forum)
or
b] Making sure to clearly write why something is NSFW, rather than just saying "NSFW" and leaving it at that.
Sometimes I play/review games that are rated 18+ on my Tumblr, and I include specific warnings in the tags of those posts so that my followers can easily avoid content they might find upsetting or uncomfortable. For fics, putting the description of the fic would be much better than just putting a link to it and saying "NSFW," even if you don't say anything more than that; the fic you're linking to could be a super long fic with one quick near fade-to-black sex scene or a raunchy PWP, but without any sort of description there, there's absolutely no way of knowing what you're getting into before you click on it.

Okayyy people. How someone acts in public does not dictate how they act in bed/what they prefer. This goes both ways, so can we not start "Solas would never do that!" because we really don't know. Let's just respect that people headcanon different things and we can't say one or the other is more accurate. Again, let's just respect that and not try to say the "correct" Solas. I don't even read/write fanfic but sometimes I see a lot of that in here and people with different preferences might feel bad. Let's welcome everyone, shall we? And we can try to respect that people are made uncomfortable by certain things as well! *Says respect a lot because this thread is a unicorn*

Just woke up (finished my second playthrough last night until 4am and then immediately deleted the save to take me back prior to Temple of Mythal because my heart just can't take it LALALALA IT NEVER HAPPENED) and feeling melancholy again. Plus, nasty ice storm outside, which matches my mood. I know I want to try playing Trevelyan and romancing Cullen but I don't think I've got it in me. Seriously considering playing some Sunset Overdrive to try and laugh again.
