Doesn't Merrill purify her mirror? So can Merrill cure the Calling?

 

Ooh, I rivaled her in DA2 (I know, I'm a monster) so I didn't actually know she could cure it, haha.

 

I guess the blight and the calling are two separate things, right? They do specifically say the warden is going to cure the calling, not the blight itself, I think.  So basically to stop the 'song' not the infection.  But doesn't the grey warden ritual just delay the deadly effect of the taint, not cure it completely? So why cure just the calling if the taint'll kill you in a few years anyway? And doesn't the song come from the old gods/archdemons? Maybe the Warden's just gonna go kill all the old gods herself, like Clarel. Solas disapproves.

I think it's better we not venture into Cullen popularity. They have had a really, really difficult time of it with the rest of the board. Lol. I think we are moving plenty fast and I think once the devs come out of their self exile they will know just how popular Solas has become.

I miss seeing Allan in the thread, actually. I hope he will come back after all this holiday stuff dies down.

What does the Nightmare say to Solas in the Fade?

 

Nightmare: Dirth ma, harellan. Ma benal enasalin. Mar Solas ena mar din

Honestly, I want Solas to be happy. Like. He's become a character I trust and would therefor look out for and pretty much scrap the world to keep safe and help.

Cullen probably has such a big thread because he's sweet and stays with his romantic partner T.T
They also probably don't have to refer to it as a support group. LOL

 

I can say, I originally was going to romance Cullen because I've been wanting to romance him since my very first character (elven mage) flirted with him in origins. Like, that torch is years old... And then Solas came along. And now I can't even get myself to do more than that one play through.

Incidentally I thought TME did a very good job with Celene, Briala and Gaspard. I'm now leaning towards a Gaspard + Briala lordship as being the best for Orlais. Though I wanted to roast all of them when....

the Dalish clan got wiped out. Man. I just hate that. Maybe it's because I have a talent for getting Dalish clans turned into elf paste in my games.

 

Some interesting bits from Flemeth in DA2 that remind me of Solas.

 

 

And interesting that Merrill has a similar view of spirits as Solas does. Merrill can't die in DA2, right? Maybe we'll see her again. I was mad at her before when I was playing DA2 because I thought she betrayed Tamlen and Mahariel in a way, by reclaiming the eluvian that did that horribad stuff to them. Also because in my first, unspoiled game, I had to kill her clan (I was yelling stopstopSTOP!!!1!! at the screen). But I did say at the time that if the eluvians proved to be important, she'd be redeemed in my eyes, and so she has.

I kind of suspected that the Eluvians will play a major role in the upcoming games.Merrill's efforts to restore the mirror was the reason she's my canon romance.

Merril can die. It's pretty difficult. You have to not talk to her after her quest, side with the Templars, and then not ask her to side with you in the gallows. But if she dies she isn't mentioned in DAI

I think Solas and Mythal can/could access most of the eluvians by virtue of being gods, having old elvhen blood, and knowing what they're doing. There are probably a few that would need to be unlocked using other methods but... that's my theory.

I assumed Solas had just used Morrigan's. As long as he can shapeshift, it wouldn't be hard to beat the Inquisitor back. Or Skyhold may even have another eluvian hidden somewhere in the depths. It did used to be an elven keep.
