There isn't enough fanfiction out there to fill the gaping hole the story's lack of payoff left in me.

That was because her memory was missing. In the Fade after she gets the pieces back, that line changes.
I actually think that's the wrong audio used in that sequence. During one of the Dorian high friendship scenes (the one with the argument with Mother Giselle) the Inquisitor says 'what's going on here?' in the exact same way as when you hear it at the beginning of the game. I think the wrong 'what's going on here' got used at the start and it should've been the version heard in HLTA.
========OOOOOOOOOOOOOO It's finished and colored.
Tagging this as slightly NSFW because Lavellan is topless, but there are no visible breasts so I don't even know if it counts as that.

Yeah I know I remember hearing that line on the Dorian quest. You're more than likely correct that they just flat out goofed up and used the wrong line of dialogue. I just think that it could also have been deliberate because the Inquisitor had their memories taken away and altered, and that was a possible explanation for the lack of urgency in that line.
Simplest explanation is usually true.
"There's such a stark beauty to this place" - says Solas, as we walk through a Red Lyrium mine. Dude, time and place... not it.
Also, is it awful of me to want to leave the people of Sahrnia to die in those cages in the mine? I had a whole bunch of Red templars doing crazy damage (they're higher levelled than me, on nightmare), and that guy in the cage keeps whining at me to save them, over and over AND OVER. SHUT YOUR FACE AND WAIT. I CAN'T BE PICKING LOCKS WITH ALL THESE RED TEMPLARS FIRING ARROWS IN MY FACE.
I wish Tristan could have opened the cage and gone "HAPPY NOW? GO ON, SOD OFF." Then kick them in the back of the legs.
...It's dawned on me that maybe I do not like Emprise du Lion all that much...
Trust me I hated them too...every time I heard "HELP ME PWEASE...I DON'T WANNA BECOME ONE OF THOSE...T-THINGS!" I just glared at the cage and wished death incarnate upon them. "GET A NEW VOICE AND NEW FACE AND MAYBE I WILL MOVE A BIT FASTER!" That is pretty much what I yelled at one point...then I also hated how they always asked if you rescued everyone else..."NO I HAVE FOUR MORE CAGES TO GO!"
I think in a game where Alistair remains a Warden, you have to do Wicked Eyes before doing any of the Warden stuff. I know people have had troubles getting it to trigger. Someone who got it to work correct me, but I think you don't even want to talk to Varric on the battlements until after the stuff in Halamshiral is complete. When you go to the garden Alistair should be standing next to Morrigan, that's when it triggers. I think I have that right.
Thanks. I've always done Halamshiral first, but I usually trigger Hawke first because I like to be able to chat to Varric.

Same here. And I could never get the garden scene to trigger. I assumed talking to Varric at all is what causes the conflict. Hopefully someone who got it to work can say if I got it right.

That is truly gorgeous... he looks so happy! *cries a little*
I'd tweet this to him but I forgot my password and could never bother myself to find it. Lol.

So this is kind of interesting, someone on tumblr put up Solas responding to a Dalish inquisitor he didn't much like:
http://tehnazzy.tumb...olas-when-youre
He talks about being tired of fighting. So there's my heart broken again.
Thanks for sharing. I suppose Solas is talking about the days of Arlathan and Elvhenan; it's easy to forget that he's lived for a very long time, and there's still a lot we don't know about his history, his campaigns, or what molded him into the man our Inquisitors have come to know today. I also like the bits where Lavellan asks him these questions in elvish.
So, uh, what would happen if Solas had a baby with a regular elven woman? Would he start a new master race of Elvhen?!?! ![]()
I keep thinking he and Abelas need to FEEL more responsible in that regard, right? I didn't see any ancient female Sentinels at the Temple of Mythal. (but, maybe that was why. Devs are perhaps saying, "Nope. No new Ancient Elvhen babies coming.)

I thought the Sentinel with the really big book that guided you through the temple was a woman.

I would kill for BioWare to have Patrick Weekes write a book telling of Solas in the days of Arlathan. I have no idea what they plan on showing us in DLC or future games. I just want more Solas!

I believe the guide who takes you around to the well is female. If you hang behind to oggle the scenery and loot things, she gets crabby at you and Solas translates her telling you to stay close.
Edit: Already beat to it. This thread. Faster than light, it is.

Wasn't your guide in the Temple of Mythal a woman?

We would make the master race of ginger babies.
But, in reality...its hard to say. It depends what caused the elvhen to lose their immortality, and whether or not Solas is still immortal himself. Solas may be an exception, but probably in the case of most ancient elves pairing with modern day elves, the babies would resemble modern day elves and have mortal lifespans. Possibly a bit taller and more magically inclined.

Yes, the guide in the Temple was a woman. At least to my understanding.
I would expect that there would be a new elvhen half-breed or something, with a longer life and greater affinity for magic than normal elves, but less than the ancient Elvhen. They should still be capable of concieving a child because the species hasn't changed much in the last 2000 years.

They had a female voice, at least, but I think they shared a face model with the male-looking ancient elf archers, so... kinda like that female model character having a very much male voice in Haven (the one talking with a recruit about the trebuchets). lol
