He sounds so exhausted, and even though he's being pretty friendly (with someone he doesn't like no less) you can feel the weight behind everything he's saying. A few causes, he said. Just how many causes?
 
Also...did Bioware forget that Dalish elves are apparently supposed to know a limited vocabulary? The Dalish protagonist understands  a lot of Elven they maybe shouldn't? Except when plot (coughconversationinFade) decides otherwise, that is.
 

It might depend on the Clan, they all know bits and pieces of Elven lore maybe Clan Lavellan has a better grasp on the language? Or as a First you know more of the Clan's knowledge than everyone else?

It would seem that Solas has been doing his Fadewalking (and possibly traveling through the Crossroads) for a very long time. Given the cruel streak that the rest of the pantheon seems to have Fen'Harrel doesn't really seem to fit in, since we haven't really seen any lore that shows him doing anything outwardly evil. From the sound of that dialogue, he's been used to being called a fool and a madman (trickster also fits) for a long time.

As for causes, it very well could be that he was Shartan. The complete Saga of Tyrdda Bright-Axe talks about her "leaf-eared lover" who she "lays with at night, only to disappear in the morning" which given his familiarity with the Fade could be Solas. Although, given that the saga mentions that Tyrdda's bloodline will one day give rise to a child named Morrighan'an and references to "whispers" Tyrdda was most likely the first to host the spark of Mythal that Flemeth (and now possibly Solas) now holds.

I think Loghain is bugged.  I don't know of anyone that has gotten it to trigger no matter what order things are done in.

I thought that perhaps no one had seen it yet because considerably fewer people had Loghain around to test it, but I've been surprised by how many people actually do have Loghain around in their world states. Is it possible to break it off with Solas and restart the romance later?  I was under the impression that if you don't kiss him in the Fade you're locked out of the romance for good.  So the only way it pertains to that is if it's something that was removed, but that dialogue was left there in the game files.  

 

I know a lot gets changed, and things get left behind.  But I am still gonna hold onto a teeny bit of hope that it's for something in the future.

I'm not sure how common joke lines are, even if bioware knows modders are going through. Its more likely something cut. But still interesting.

Where she was like "Solas, I need help/I'm not feeling well", I think that's what it was...

Someone thought that could have been related to Champions of the Just. If you die at a certain point Envy takes over. Those files might have been the Inquisitor getting possessed, asking for help, and saying things were fine - BOOM evil Inquisition. If they're right that could have been so interesting...

I have a play through with Loghain.  I talked to Varric and found Loghain before I did the ball.  I still have yet to do Adamant on that play through in hopes that the scene will trigger.  But I really doubt it's going to happen.

Don't think it'd be a joke. Maybe it was a scrapped idea because they realized it didn't fit with where they wanted to go with his character. Maybe it's for DLC. We'll see when the arc finishes I guess!

Interesting. I did a quick scan through, I see the same words used in other plot flag moments. [IE; With Blackwall.] But not in the same manner. 

 

Veeryy curious. I don't actually think it is a joke though. Jokes tend to be a lot more overt. That doesn't mean its proof of DLC or anything, but I really don't think they are trying to trick up modders with that line. It just means something we don't understand yet. Or never will, because the content doesn't exist.

 

That said, if Solas is appearing and disappearing...its not too surprising they might already have groundwork in the game to flag him back 'on'. That last part in particular, that looks like epilogue flags?

That is located in the Bard song files, I think?. But I think unless It's hard-coded to something, it won't appear/be said.

This tool lets you browse the entire dialog text in game. It sees the text as Bioware saved it: by sections. What I posted before was Skyhold dialog, this seems to be Adamant's scene on the fade. Both files have that Solas thing at the end
