Can someone tell me what this thing is? Is it a blow horn or a drinking thing?
I can't stop fangirling over how much of a hobo he is.
Why would he have a horn?
*shrugs* maybe they thought it looked cool? Maybe he thought it looked cool, he could use it for..something other than blowing I dunno...
As for causes, it very well could be that he was Shartan. The complete Saga of Tyrdda Bright-Axe talks about her "leaf-eared lover" who she "lays with at night, only to disappear in the morning" which given his familiarity with the Fade could be Solas. Although, given that the saga mentions that Tyrdda's bloodline will one day give rise to a child named Morrighan'an and references to "whispers" Tyrdda was most likely the first to host the spark of Mythal that Flemeth (and now possibly Solas) now holds.
I believe Weekes confirmed that Tyrdda's lover was a woman. And Morrighan'nan is part of the Legend of Luthias Dwarfson.

So is it a drinking horn or a blowing kind of horn? eh, whatever, both look the same.
About elven language and Dalish: I went back to check The Stolen Throne and there the hunters are shouting at each other in elven when they capture Loghain and Maric, and the First tells Loghain that most of them speak "the King's tongue" but only use it when they go to settlements to trade. He says that in camp they try to use the old language in order to keep it alive.
So the lore basis is backwards from what we're seeing in the games, which no doubt is for understandability and ease of VO. And because otherwise Mary Kirby would do nothing but sit and write elven dialogue.
I see nothing wrong with this.

Fleshing out the language would be awesome but I'd imaging time constraints prevents that though.

*sigh* Yeah... I know. I've always felt that the lack of elven dialouge is due making the game accessable to those who don't use subtitles and time constraints. I think if the devs were free to do what they liked then we'd have a lot more elven.

It is also understandable with the lore, too. With how fragmented the Dalish have become. :}
I wish there was a way to label saves because i have alot of Skyholds and Frostback Mountains.
Uggggggh me too! I alwaaaaaaays label my saves right before important crap. (I have a stupid amount of saves for every play through. "Just in case" I have to go back.)
Ok and I will admit it's so I can rewatch mushy scenes.

Yeah this annoyed me a little bit too tbh, one of the first things I noticed "What? I can't name it? Are you serious? How am I supposed to keep track of important events?!"
Seldarine, these game files are just... just... I have no words!
(grabs the game files and runs away to listen to Solas' gasps)
And here's a small something I've discovered(most of you probably know that already): it's about Solas' quest with the Spirit of Wisdom.
1) If the path from the camp straight to the quest place(so the small ruin with a glyph is directly on your right) and do not approach, say, from the Dalish camp, you will see first a body of a mage(clickable, and there's a comment!), and then some burnt bodies with claw marks(again, clickable, and a great comment by Solas... again, feels!)
2) If you take Iron Bull and Cole with you, they have extra lines.
3) If you're a rift mage, you'll have one more special option, next to the "magic perk" dialogue option. Both of these cut the health bars of the summoning pillars in half.
It's sad that you can kill the spirit and continue the romance, though. I thought Solas would break it off, but I was at ~max approval, so despite me murdering his friend in cold blood, there was still a kiss scene and everything(then I reloaded and saved his friend, obviously). Now I'll have to find a video where he really breaks up with you over killing his friend, otherwise I'll have no peace.

I solved this problem by writing down the timestamp and writing the event next to it on Notepad. xD
Example: Skyhold (28:42) = Solas Fade Kiss
That's far too organised for me! ![]()
Bah, I don't like being in CET. All the Cards against Humanity games are over when I am awake!
On those dev notes, to me they very much sound like options in a menu for toggling certain game flags. It's pretty common to have such a menu for debugging and playtesting - I wonder if it's still available via the console somehow?

I thought so as well, but then I thought.. Why would Solas be the only one with that flag?
The companions may post-game leave if you don't befriend them, it's not like Solas is the only one they need to test.
And it does say "continue the romance" in some other line.
In my opinion it could be
1) Removed content
2) The option to continue Solas romance if you break it off somewhere along the way (and then they decided to cut it out)
3) Pre-programmed section to ease readding him to the party after a DLC (hopeful hopelessly romantic fangirl is hopeful)
4) Flag toggle, though it's weird there is one only for Solas. It may be because he is the only one to 100% pull a disappearance act after the ending (though why would they need the ability to toggle the flag post game? :|)
My blanket fort for a wolfhunt DLC that starts with Solas calling out to the Inquisitor in a dream
*pops back onto the lurker's balcony*
Wait, come back! You need to take your Team Optimism banner!
EDIT: Top of the page and I still don't know how to post pictures. If someone could provide some Solas, that would be good.

*flits back in, grabs banner, jumps back out*
Lol the idea that a solas DLC only works for romance is silly.
1: Solas is intrinsic to the main story. There's no reason he can't be used as a lead in to the next game plot and ALSO have a romance version of that for a herald who romanced him. There are plenty of ways that would wrap up the herald's storyline for the next main character in stories to come, while giving us world states that can pass on consistently the way they've always done.
2. Merrill is 100% a character who has a dual personality based on your choices with her. I stand by that comment about her. She's sweet and cute only if you seek her approval (which for some playthroughs I did)... and I wouldn't compare her to Solas at all, frankly because she lacks a certain healthy respect for things she does not know of.
And also this, just to make everyone laugh because I think it sums up most Solas debates now. Lol ;D
Aaaaah the youtube vid... OMG!
Come on lets be positive, the world is hard enough as it is... Someone should send this to PW!

Uhhh have you ever searched for "halamshiral map" on google and clicked accidentally on google maps?
