What creepy basement? I've explored that Keep and I swear I haven't found anything like that.

I apologize if someone already mentioned this, I am just replying directly and not reading through first to see if anyone responded.

There is a tunnel under the Keep. Its long and you can find veilfire and a rune there. Maybe there is a chest too but I don't remember. The entrance to the tunnel isn't in the keep but very near. If I wasn't on my phone I'd find a map and mark it.

Chances are though you've probably already been to the tunnel. At the end, up on a little ledge, there's a wall that looks like snow. You'll be able to tell because it looks different than the rest of the solid walls.

It takes a bit of a jump, but you can actually get up there and then walk straight through the wall. It opens to a set of stone stairs leading down. You maybe go down five or six flights which is completely dark and super creepy and it opens at the end into a giant cavern with..nothing. empty space.

Its worth looking at. Lol.

My blanket fort for a wolfhunt DLC that starts with Solas calling out to the Inquisitor in a dream

*pops back onto the lurker's balcony*

Hehehe <3 Is that the one I wrote? I have to admit, I've been finding respite in all the really well written fan fic. It almost feels like you could compile it all into a really beautiful and fleshed out version of a Solas story. <3 it makes me so happy.

So I just heard the banter between Iron Bull and Varric from the first time. The one where IB asked him where does his villians come from, and Varric goes on about how he thinks the best ones are right beside you, that they are good people willing to get their hands dirty. Jeez Varric,I GET IT ALREADY! All that was missing was a wink at the camera.
I think the way the writers structured the story , the dialogue and the romance...it's all pointing towards Solas being that gray antagonist. It is quite intriguing to have someone you have to oppose and have a very personal relationship with. The amount of personal investment in his character is staggering and it would make for a exciting and very personal story. Like in the romace Solas says it matters, it matters to him , to Lavellan, but it grand scheme of things it matters little. It was real, but it can't . His own suffering matter little compared to his peoples. Thousand years of pain, slavery, opression, poverty. The elvhen are a dying race, slowly fading away. It's why Solas is so passioned when he talks to Varric about dwarvs not being proactive enough. His struggle is a noble one, his pain - infinite , but it doesn't matter , because he's willing to give his people everything.

Never really thought about the parallel of them pulling each other back before. I tend to think of it in terms of Solas trying to walk away. This is beautiful.

Wow, Totally didn't notice that.  They're both fairly guilty.  XD

  • Iron Bull: Hey, Varric, I was reading your stuff. Where do your bad guys come from?
  • Varric: Well, some of them come from Tevinter and some are Ben-Hassrath spies, but I like the story where the villain was the man beside you the whole time. The best villains don't see themselves as evil. They're fighting for a good cause and willing to get their hands dirty.

I should really write a non romance version of my choose your own adventure fan fic... so people can see a converging storyline IS possible and interesting regardless of whether there is a Solas romance.

So I've been lurking this thread since... forever. But I decided to finally flit in out of the woodwork because of this:

While I can't tell you how Solas would react to that exactly - I DID decide to show you all how badass this would have been as a Halamshiral ball gown with a couple world-appropriate tweaks and a +30% to Dalish Origin enchantment. I may or may not have totally whipped this out just for you, poster of amazing dress. (The answer is yes.) I couldn't decide on a color palette, so you guys got three. Herald-Green, Inquisitor-Purple, and Calpernia-Black.
tumblr_nhno00BtAz1ronfjdo2_1280.png
tumblr_nhno00BtAz1ronfjdo3_1280.pngtumblr_nhno00BtAz1ronfjdo1_1280.png

Also, seeing as I've never used BSN before this exact moment, if I formatted things wrong or something, just let me know and I'll fix it. You can see them on my tumblr here if you'd prefer.

I guess what really intrigued me about the original dress was it’s reliance upon owls and feathers as a visual motif, something Dragon Age: Inquisition does a hell of a lot of. Capture a keep? Owls. Move into Skyhold? Owls. Going to bed in Skyhold? Owls. Do a Secrets mission? Owls. Walk around Emerald Graves? Owls. Walk around Exalted Plains? Owls. As a lore-motif you’ve got… Andruil’s messenger? Owl. Guide of Falon’din? Owl. Tenebrium constellation? Owl. Terrifying ancient omen of loss? You guessed it, owl. And it’s literally almost everywhere your Inquisitor goes/ touches. So there’s that, guys. Have fun with that thought as you cry into your post-Solas romance pint of ice cream. I certainly have.

I know some people would claim the Andruil-Falon'din owl discrepency to be a writer error, but I honestly believe it to be a clue hidden in a perceived fault/ redundancy. Repetition is usually given to things of great importance both in art, literature, and film. Just something I've been mulling around and been to afraid to share previously.

Now I'm going to go hide because oh my god you people are amazing and I haunt this thread like you don't even know.

This is AWESOME! I want to wear this dress to the ball! <3

Did you tweet it to Weekes?

Tweet it to Weekes? I CAN DO THAT? I might die. What if he hates it?!

Also... I might be lacking a twitter account because I'm 25 and too old to learn new tricks.

I can tweet it to him if you want. Sometimes he even responds ;)

I'm sure he loves it.

Can someone tell me what this thing is? Is it a blow horn or a drinking thing?

wwocdfm.png

My guess is his drinking horn and a flask that holds his Fade hooch.

Yeah this annoyed me a little bit too tbh, one of the first things I noticed "What?  I can't name it?  Are you serious?  How am I supposed to keep track of important events?!"

Has anyone tried naming the files in Documents? Imma try. I'll probably blow up my game, lol.

Lol the idea that a solas DLC only works for romance is silly.

Agreed, some people want to find him so they can murderknife him. BTW did anyone notice that all the PC outfits come with murderknives this time? I love that.

2. Merrill is 100% a character who has a dual personality based on your choices with her. I stand by that comment about her. She's sweet and cute only if you seek her approval (which for some playthroughs I did)... and I wouldn't compare her to Solas at all, frankly because she lacks a certain healthy respect for things she does not know of.

I was at rivalry with Merrill and she was still sweet, just sad that you're basically wrecking her dream. And there's no way she could or should be compared to Solas. She's more like Lavellan- fumbling in things she doesn't understand, but wants to.

Do you have any idea what the back would look like, by the way? For people who might wanna try turning this into the mod I really want to give it a shot but I have no modding experience, just sculpting and modelling.

edit: whoops, top of page! here's a quick sketch.

He won't hate it. This concept is incredible and your execution of it is perfect. Literally. And it's tempting me to actually write a drawn out fan fic moment and draw a life-like scene from the ball that includes it... seriously...this is incredible and inspiring <3

I wish there was a way to label saves because i have alot of Skyholds and Frostback Mountains.

Ugh, I know, me too! There are so may cutscenes and other content I don't want to lose. I have a ton of save games on my Lavellan playthrough.

Mostly they're to re-watch the Solas bits, but I also adore the Cassandra/Varric romance novel scene. Especially now. When Varric implies something has happened to the main character and Cass gasps and is all "Nothing should happen to her" in total fangirl mode? That is how I feel about Solas now. :) Every single freaking hint they give about future content involving him is going to be torture.

Edited to add: I posted so slowly I missed the dress artwork. That's really beautiful lizasaurus!

Do you mind if I use this dress in my Halamshiral fic?  I'm terrible at desgining dresses, but I could probably describe this one reasonably well.

I was just going through all the old trailers to DAI and you see Solas at 0:23.

I think that he is in the dungeon in Haven examining the Inquisitor's mark/hand and Leliana and Cass are coming to check on his progress.
