I actually found him a little annoying at first, and shipped Cullen on my first PT! It was such a happy, warm fuzzy romance for my Inquisitor. Then after I saw the ending cinematic, I just HAD to learn more about him. His personality really drew me in (Cullen is more of a match for my character, but Solas reached me on a more intellectual/ideological level.) His writing is superb and the VA is wonderful too.

Awwwww.....its more of a love story than some people ever get, a deep emotional experience that many in Thedas will never feel...I know its cliche, but..be happy for having loved that deeply....even if they lost it..

 

 

and maybe it will have a happy ending....maybe...

 

its a great story either way..

speaking of characters that are easy on the eyes...I left the Western Approach for last, I did everything else in the game, finished the Temple of Mythal and went through Solas leaving my sorry elfy ass. Then I did the Western Approach (so I could get that post-breakup banter from Cole) and then it came time for me to judge this guy:

 

I present to you Crassius Servis, the smokin' smuggler Tevinter mage. I was still sore from the Solas breakup and I was like "oh Sooolas, looks like the Inquisition has a new agent, I've chosen to send him INTO MY PANTS"

 

it's the little things that get you through a break-up.

 

But those outfits....I mean..what are those little ear thingies...its ridiculous...

 

I mean you don't see guys drooling over hot women in ridiculous...outfits....with.... bunny...ears....

 

I'm going back to my corner and shutting up now...

Yes is the same mode with different morph

Didn't Renmiri or another modder find out that Solas' model is the male human model scaled down a bit, not the default male elf model?

Yup

 

longer legs and torso i think, the male human model looks shorter and more "squat"

I am probably worrying too much, but I AM slightly worried that his face would look noticeably different in DA4. I hope they don't change his basic appearance too much or it would feel very strange. Leliana looks really different from DAO.

Is cullen thread bigger than Sera thread?  you're gaining, but have to gain faster to catch Sera's, almost to 2k pages.

We've actually been gaining on the Sera thread pretty quickly.  It used to be I think close to 400 pages more than the Solas thread.  Now we're around 100 pages behind.  Slowly but surely we'll continue to grow because more and more people will romance Solas in their 2nd, 3rd etc play through.  I love it.  Solas has a knack for catching everyone by surprise.

 

Cullen thread is gargantuan.  Over 4400 pages.  No one is catching that, not even the Twitter thread, lol.

So I have a question for everyone about Solas' appearance.

 

Were you physically attracted to him when you first saw him (in-game or pre-game) or did you gradually warmed up to his looks?

 

I find voices attractive more than looks in video games; Atton Rand was my first digital boyfriend.  When everyone kind of looked and animated like bobblehead potatoes, the VA was what really sold a character as attractive.  So when I first saw Solas during the run-up to DA:I, I said "meh" and followed Cullen more closely.

 

When I first heard Solas, though....I was so lost.  I must have replayed that stupid veilfire line of his a dozen times, trying so hard not to giggle at work.  The more I heard him talk, the deeper the rabbit hole got.  And then when I fired up the game, the animation really sold me on his looks.  Especially his eyes--they're so beautiful and expressive.

No.  Not really physically attracted to video game characters (minus Chrom*Fire Emblem* - my husbando for life).   I had NO intention on romancing him and actually didn't know you could since I tried to go into it pretty blind.  When he said "Haha, is that a serious question?" in that adorable Welsh accent I was all like "hahaha...maybe???*blush*".  I actually said in real life "Awww...he's Welsh!"  Then 30 hours into a Cullen game I was getting frustrated because Solas was just so much more intriguing and I was frustrated that he wouldn't love me(I still have an AU headcanon that they are in love).  After Thanksgiving I put my human on the backburner and started a Lavellan game and have been living in hell.  I will play this game until it un-breaks my heart.  Goddammit Solas.
