Was I physically attracted to Solas when i first saw him?

Well, I didn't see him first, but I heard about him. His character seemed... intriguing. (lol, I see what I did there). Then when I saw him I thought he looked... intriguing; but, I like more mature men anyway. Then he spoke and I had an actual conversation with him and I was like: yup. He's the one.

So, physically, yes, but it wasn't the first thing I noticed about him.

You know in truth Solas is probably the closest I've ever come to a videogame character actually representing what I would look for in a human. Very sad really - I guess I'm destined to always be along.

Well, considering I'm agoraphobic, that ain't so bad. ^^

True, but Solas doesn't age physically =D. So they should keep him the way he is. If they want to change his looks, make his facial features the same but give him a majestic Fen'harel look instead. OHHH, I want it to be like this. When Lavellan sees Solas again, she sees his back first. She wonders who this person is who is emitting such raw magical power and wearing such majestic robes. Solas turns around and Lavellan is in shock.

Awwwww.....its more of a love story than some people ever get, a deep emotional experience that many in Thedas will never feel...I know its cliche, but..be happy for having loved that deeply....even if they lost it..

 

 

and maybe it will have a happy ending....maybe...

 

its a great story either way..

be it happy or sad, all I need is an ending....though as a loyal member of Team Optimism I am dearly hoping for happy. You know, the one where Lavellan becomes the WARRIOR QUEEN of the new elvhen pantheon with Solas by her side. Just think of the books Varric could write about their adventures!

I find voices attractive more than looks in video games; Atton Rand was my first digital boyfriend.  When everyone kind of looked and animated like bobblehead potatoes, the VA was what really sold a character as attractive.  So when I first saw Solas during the run-up to DA:I, I said "meh" and followed Cullen more closely.

 

When I first heard Solas, though....I was so lost.  I must have replayed that stupid veilfire line of his a dozen times, trying so hard not to giggle at work.  The more I heard him talk, the deeper the rabbit hole got.  And then when I fired up the game, the animation really sold me on his looks.  Especially his eyes--they're so beautiful and expressive.

I'm the same way.  I know Kaidan is not popular, but part of what made me adore him so much is Raphael Sbarge.

That's not sad.  There are people out there like that.   In a very basic sense - because let's be real he's not as complex as an actual person -  part of his appeal was that he reminds me of a guy I uh...dated...in college.  So it was kind of nice and familiar.

I can honestly say I wasn't attracted to Solas when he first came out, mostly because I thought he was going to be like Wynne and be the grandpa of the group XD  I was planning on Iron Bull, but Solas was the first one I flirted with since he was there from the beginning.  I liked him right away in the game because he was sweet and intelligent.  Then Bull failed to impress me (sobbing - I can't do the guys who've been all over the block and he doesn't even really flirt D:) and I started flirting with Cullen.  Then the fade kiss scene happened with Solas and his "sleep well" comment and I was

Well it does seem that he's bald because he woke up from slumber...I think?  That's my theory anyway...since all the elves at the Temple of Mythal were bald?  I mean, if you look at them close when you're running around in the Arbor Wilds, all those ones with the daggers poppin' in and out KILLING YOU...all those ones are bald. If you squint they kind of look like mini-Solas clones. So you know, it seems to be very possible that his hair could start growing back at some point? But it would take awhile to get to the full-on masterwork dreads from the concept art. I DON'T WANT THEM TO BE APART THAT LONG.

I am so sorry to hear that. I hope that situation resolves itself soon. I've only had two relationships and the second one was so amazing at first (the Solas romance reminded me of how it was sigh), but it didn't work out in the end. We just need to find people with the good traits of our exs and not the bad ones haha.

I had 3 (well 2 really) games to build that relationship!  I didn't think anyone would top it.  (Yes I love the Garrus romance too.  And Thane, but the ME3 stuff was just uggh, poor Thane.)  I always thought Alistair would remain my fave DA romance.  HAH!

 

Then Solas came along and did in one game what no one could across multiple!   Ruined for life.

Yeah, there are people with Solas traits out there or they wouldn't be able to make his character. I think it's hard to create a personality that doesn't already exist in some way in the real world.

I had 3 (well 2 really) games to build that relationship!  I didn't think anyone would top it.  (Yes I love the Garrus romance too.  And Thane, but the ME3 stuff was just uggh, poor Thane.)  I always thought Alistair would remain my fave DA romance.  HAH!

 

Then Solas came along and did in one game what no one could across multiple!   Ruined for life.

 

woot kaidan 8D  i loved both kaidan and garrus although i must admit, by the time i got to romancing garrus, i still loved him, but more as a bro.  overtime, i think it just grew more platonic for me?  xD  i still love garrus to bits, it's just in a weird spot between platonic and romantic love.

 

solas' romance scenes, although just kisses, were the first in any game to just.....blow me away.  like, seriously make me melt.  even with all the other romances i did, like the millions of times i romanced anders, fenris, garrus, kaidan, alistair, dorian etc, they were really sweet and i loved them all in different ways.  but solas' kisses just bring it to the next level for me.  i don't know if that makes any sense xD

Oh Alistair...he was my first video game love. Sure..there were others I found attractive ..but Alistair captured my heart.  I'm actually playing DAO again right now (yay I got the disc working again), trying to do a Zevran romance since I've only playing through it once with him..it's always been so hard to resist Alistair.

 

But now...it's like..meh... Alistair is still a cutie...but he doesn't even come close to Solas.
