I used to play DA:I on the PS3...then I moved onto PS4...and in the future I will get DA:I for my PC.
However, I actually got one of the good copies of DA:I for the PS3*I think*. I never had any problems with the Tactical cam...my game only crashed three times and the AI was actually pretty good.

I'm on xbox one so if its very different on PS3 then I don't know, but without the tac cam the puzzle is much more difficult because you only have a few seconds to get from one switch to the other before it resets. I guess you could have a party of four mages and just go crazy with fade step. Anyways, I like that puzzle because one area has a gate that is opened/closed with a lever so I always open it, put Vivienne in there, close it, then leave. Every time.

Cause I keep coming here to read stuff about Solas and sometimes comment; I had finally stopped talking about Solas till I listened to that podcast. At which point, I ran into our bedroom and gushed--yet again--about how sad it was. He knows this forum is partially to blame, haha.

I didn't have any trouble with this puzzle or tac/cam on my 360. Cole trapped my Quizzy behind the gate and she made sad puppy faces at Solas--at least in overactive imagination.

Also I might be a bit late for this reply but since some of ya'll mentioned when you were attracted to Solas I guess I'll mention when I did.
It was back in March I think...I was still angry at Bioware with what happened in ME3 and the death of Thane,but I came on this the Dragon age thread to see what's going on and went to Solas's thread and just loved him right then and there he was so cute...and now that I've played the game got to know a bit of his personality and have had my Lavellan romance him I love him even more.

I completely forgot about the radial menu. Ever since DA2 I can't break my habit of holding down the radial menu button for as long as its open and just end up avoiding it. That is probably better advice for someone who's tac cam is glitching than my fade step ballerina nonsense

So I have a question for everyone about Solas' appearance.
Were you physically attracted to him when you first saw him (in-game or pre-game) or did you gradually warmed up to his looks?
I'm still trying to catch up with this thread but I'd thought I'd answer this while doing so. 
When I first saw him, the only thing I thought was, "Okay, a bald elf companion." Then later on, I heard he was made into a love interest for female elves and thought, "Oh, okay, so elf ladies get to romance baldy elf. But he's no Fenris or Zevran in terms of looks so would they even consider going for him?"
I admit, I thought he did look a bit odd. Bald, long face, angular features, rather droopy eyes... Yeah, I wasn't even thinking of romancing him. (Cullen and Blackwall were my first choices)
Then I met him in-game, heard that chuckle and that, "Was that a serious question?" line, and that was when I started to think that he was actually pretty cute in a rather charmingly nerdy way. Cute enough to make me consider romancing him. (I then had the dilemma of trying to decide between Cullen, Blackwall, and now Solas.)
Blah blah blah, Fade-tongue happened and you know the rest. 
So I could say that his looks grew on me over time. It was more of his personality, how he carried himself, and the sound of his soothing voice that made me attracted to him. Now I see Solas as the most beautiful man in DA:I (well, aside from Cullen for obvious reasons).

Nopez, Solas is the most beautiful. I tend to like guys with more slim faces than the strong jawline masculine look though. But ahhh Solas' jawline is pretty good in its own way.

I went to the Exalted Plains, left to the Western Approach, went back to the Plains, found a tome, then went to the other areas of the Plains where the rest of the tomes are supposedly and they aren't there. So, I'll be going to the Hissing Wastes just to get the tomes.

Honestly, I don't tend to be attracted to people just based on looks anymore. I did that when I was younger, it was just silly. Gotta have that personality, intelligence, but be approachable or else they just don't hold my attention. I think Solas has all these things. His looks never bothered me one bit, but they weren't really a deciding factor.
And-oh-my-god-yes. The laugh/smile when he says "Was that a serious question?" BEST I just want to freeze that moment in time as a gif and/or picture and keep it.
I've played through so many times now, I'm saying people's lines while not even looking at the screen.
Side note, I think it's adorable that Dorian calls the Quizzy "amatus" in a kind of whispered voice in the library.

So strange. I didn't realize this was bugging for some. I had no trouble finding the tomes myself. I even accidentally found one before I got the specialization quest. Same with the daggers for the Assassin quest.

So I don't fault people (or myself) for letting looks be a deciding factor for a game romance. My initial reaction to Solas was that he wasn't as conventionally handsome as Dorian and Cullen. But in the end it didn't matter because (just like in real life) his intelligence and personality won out.
Tell ya, that's some top notch writing and voice acting to make a video game character that attractive. Especially when it makes people debate about personal preferences in the real life, and how they rationalized their attraction to said character.

Well personally, I do find Cullen really pretty to look at, though I admit my attraction to him is more on the physical. God knows I've stared at him more times than I'd like to admit. And I do like him as a character. 
I just find Solas and Cullen beautiful in different ways. Of course for me, Solas is THE most beautiful man to ever grace the game. Heart-achingly beautiful. I just love his everything, flaws and all. ;___;

Very true. I wasn't trying to sound judgmental, but I try to make my very first character in any game have my views/likes/dislikes/interests/et cetera. Then I mess around the other playthroughs. Honestly, I went into DAI looking at Cullen just because I was very interested in his character development since I first met him in DAO as an elf mage. Solas kinda swept my Lavellan right out from under him, haha.
So I was reading fanfic and I imagined this. Imagine if during the haven fade kiss scene, instead of saying "Wake up" Solas turns in to a desire demon and goes "You are now mine to possess." Then you turn into an abomination and the game over screen shows up. hahaha
