STOP. STOP NOW. I CAN'T. I AM UNABLE TO OPEN THAT WOUND.
Actually wait - if it were Mind Control it'd be blue.
DAMN IT! THERE GOES MY REAPER THEORY!

Ok so here's the thing about the Forgotten Ones. They're supposed to be found in the Void, hence Andruil going there to find them, hunt them, and kill them. From her point of view, a very noble, and necessary goal.
But... where IS the Void? I get that the world is the Earth and betwixt the Fade and the Earth we have the Veil (which is less than a wall and more like fishnet stockings). Is the Void beyond the Fade? Or is the Void in the deep center of the Earth?
This isn't entirely set in my head - and possibly outright wrong- but I think the Void and the Abyss are one.
Short version: it's GITMO for the Pantheon at the center of the Earth, filled with blight, a vengeful wanna-be Maker, and a lot of pissed off Forgotten Ones.
.
If you look at your chart in a mythological sense then you see where Bioware got their inspiration from. The Greek Gods and Goddesses. Hera led the other Gods and Goddesses against Zeus...Mythal did the same to Elgar'nan.
So tell me would these Elven Gods not equal the Greek Gods and Goddesses when presented like this:
Elgar'nan=Zeus-Strongest of the Olympians.
Mythal=Hera-Motherhood and equal to Zeus.
June=Hephaestus-God of Forge and things associated with forges.
Sylaise=Hestia-Goddess of Hearth and Home
Andruil=Artemis-Goddess of the Hunt
Ghilal'Nain=Aphrodite-Beauty/Peace
Falon'Din=Hades-Death
Dirthamen=Athena-Wise and often knew of deceit/was revolted by it.
Fen'Harel=Hermes-Messenger of the Gods, and was extremely cunning.
Fen'harel could be the messenger, or he could take Selene's place as god of the moon. Whenever there is a sun god, there's usually a god of night/the moon/stars/etc. to counterbalance it. We also know Fen'harel has a duality of nature theme going on, which mirrors Elgar'nan's. So I suggest that while Elgar'nan represents the sun/vengeance/daylight, Solas might represent the moon/darkness/night. But what he represents in lieu of vengeance prior to his role of "rebellion," I cannot say.
Just to weigh in on this chart... would the Forgotten Ones be a better fit for the Titans than the Dwarves?
Unless the myth is indeed correct that they were "locked away" by being forced underground, in which case, then perhaps the Dwarves are the Forgotten Ones? Solas and Cole do seem to imply that their ability to do magic was somehow severed in some way, which would mean that as a people they had "forgotten" something they once knew how to perform, as well as perhaps explain how the Primeval Thaig seemed to have been constructed with magic?
The Forgotten ones were gods, it's possible they could have been dwarven before the dwarves lost their magic. That thaig from DA2 suggested dwarves once had command of magic. We also have seen hints that dwarves and elves may have been somehow related.

The Void is the "place of nothing." Since the underground actually has a lot of stuff in it, I'm thinking it's a world accessible from the eluvian network, similar to the Fade. What kind of world, I do not know, other than it's pretty clearly an unpleasant place.
Okay, so there is no tale about the two of them EVER having a connection. The only thing that tipped me off of them having any at all was that in Ghilal'nain's grove (over by where you can fight the Dragon in the Exalted Plains) there is a shrine where you are to put an offering to the Dread Wolf. Something you don't see ANYWHERE else or in ANY of the temples/ shrine you stumble upon in the game thus far - even if they do have statues of the Dread Wolf within them.
EDIT: So yes, strange that in a place dedicated to one God you have an offering place to another..
Wait, wait. Wasn't that in the Crow Fens? I could have sworn the offering table was in a Mythal-related area, but have no idea where that gut feeling is coming from, or if it's based on anything real. =w= Sanity check, anyone?
Regarding what is being referred to as the "Fen'harel" mark and it being used by dwarves and Kirkwall. I dunno if its been pointed out yet, but there is... something? inside a cave on the Western Approach that is littered with these Fen'harel Mark tablets.
The cave has stone markers like the ones in the Elven temples that sometimes contained runes, as well as the miniature stonehenge looking elven burial markers from the Emerald Graves. However, the thing is nothing like anything of elven, dwarven or human design that I've seen. There is a note you can find as well as a codex entry (That bugged out on me. I got xp for it, but no codex popped up). The note said that this statue thing pulsed with life, like a heartbeat.

Closeup of the thing:
It is literally called the Thing in the Dark based on the landmark there. I counted at least a half dozen of the fen'harel mark tablets. I have nothing else to add to the theory or anything, except to say that this is not a cave you want to find at 3am while sitting in the dark all alone. Very. Creepy.
Also are those old blood stains around its mouth? Gross.

The statue looks very similar to the one in Pride's Cavern on Sundermount back in DA2. Very interesting.
Very creepy. ![]()
EDIT: Also, snazzy armor!

That's the same statue that was in the cave when Merrill wanted to call the spirit to help her recreate the Eluvian, when Keeper Marathari allowed the demon to possess her instead. The one near the ancient Elvhen burial ground.
Edit: Ninja'd.
I think that statue gives us a clue about Solas.
Namely, why he's so buff for an elf.
Ancient elves had better nutrition and lifestyles, thus making them larger? Pfft!
Solas used to spend his waking hours stuffing himself with food, then went back to sleep and wandered the Fade.
His obviously stringent Wolf God exercise regiment is him swinging the opposite way after he had to body-surf thanks to repeated heart problems.
.
You also see the same statue in DA2's Legacy DLC, I believe? It was in an altar for Dumat.

Am I the only one who wanted the tattoos hidden? XD I really didn't like any of them so I made them really light so you cannot really see them.

Snap! You're right. I guess the statue didn't stand out to me that much in DA2 but I remember the cave now. According to the wiki, it's "Pride's End" to be exact.
This means something. This is important.
I wouldn't rule ancient elves as taller unless someone compares the models with solas. sera is bigger than a female elf. She wasn't raised by a noble until 8. Much of her growth spurt has already passed but she's human trained in armour.I think that statue gives us a clue about Solas.

"Merrill states that the cave was once the site of a battle between the Tevinter Imperium and Elvhenan, where the elves fought upon the bones of their ancestors in a desperate last stand."
And it's called "Pride's End".
And then we have Solas/Pride and "What Pride has Wrought" and... am I sensing some kind of underlying theme here? ![]()
I did that and I regretted it. I did not know the vallesin would play a part in the romance. It makes the scene less meaningful if he removed it but visually you couldn't see the change in the first place.
I actually knew it already but all the valleslins are so horrible. I just can't.. T_T
Eh don't give elves something to be prideful about or they'll get themselves killed?"Merrill states that the cave was once the site of a battle between the Tevinter Imperium and Elvhenan, where the elves fought upon the bones of their ancestors in a desperate last stand."

Also correct! Screenshot from wiki of Dumat's altar:
Bother and befuddle!! What's this all mean??
Fen'harel = Dumat? Coryphelus went to the shrine of Dumat to pray for guidance after he was freed (Heard during the course of "Under Her Skin" once you side with the Templars. I do not have a save where that place is readily accessible so I can't check it for the statue.) He believed there was no answer. Then? Solas shows up with orb? Hmmm.... I don't really like this at all, to be honest. Someone debunk this quickly, please.
Wasn't Dumat the first archdemon?
Dumat was the first Archdemon. The Archdemon matched the appearances of the Dragon Dumat in Tevinter temples.
Maybe the Fen'harel mark is like the swatstika? In the sense that multiple cultures use it in a variety of ways, and it's kind of a popular thing?
I mean, Roman era Italian tribes were emblazoning the shields with swatstikas, Buddhism and Hinduism and Asia in general like to use it, and some guy in Central Europe evidently thought it was pretty snazzy.
How Solas came to give Corypheus the orb is one of the things I'm really curious about. Did he do it in disguise? Cory doesn't seem to recognize him. Was it willing? Did he think that Corypheus would go to an abandoned temple and try to get to the Fade, and that it would backfire? It's not even clear to me if Corypheus wanted the Breach to happen or if he just rolled with it.
Nightmare certainly seems to recognize Solas, what with the whole mocking him thing.
