She probably would. So the phrase "Mother" found in the files of the last scene? Morrigan should have been there or Solas speaking to Flemeth?
Again, I'm not buying anything, just playing around with the idea.

Wait Fen'Harel = Dirthamen and Falon'Din now?
Nah...I don't buy it.

Well, Flemeth isn't technically his mother, just the vessel in which his mother's essence resides in. It still works.
I'm not sure I buy the Fen'Harel = Falon'Din/Dirthamen theory, but the possibility of Fen'Harel being Mythal's son? Now, that...

Before I head to bed, there's been something gnawing at me.
The Brecilian Forest ruins were apparently co-habitated by elves and humans, with some statues of the elven gods.
The Arcane Warrior spirit, when asked about what happened here, says that there was an attack.
"By humans?"
"No, not by humans. It was they who had built this place, long before."
The Elder Tree speaks of some weirdness going on as well. There are some Tevinter ruins as well.
It's been awhile since I've done that quest, so I'm probably missing a lot of details.
What do we make of it? Was it Arlathan's Civil War?

Which... if true, makes me question why she refers to him as an old friend and not her son when they meet at the end credits? The dev notes also point towards it being friendship, not familial connection.
EDIT: The data mine line 'Mother!?' might very well be a line they considered for Morrigan should she have been in that scene or there having been a visual cut to her receiving the Godhood sent to her via the Eluvian.
EDIT EDIT: It's also one of the most Morrigan lines I can think of. Seriously, I feel like every conversation I had with her in DA:O went back to "Mother" in some way.
" 'tis Mother " beats it for Morriganness. But just barely.

We already know Flemeth = Mythal, as does he. If Mythal were his mother, the situation still stands unresolved. Why would she hide their familial connection and why would the dev notes focus on the singularly dear friend relationship?
Agreed.

The 'Oldest Friend' makes me think of Fen'harel and Mythal going on adventures together.
Like Loki and Thor, if Loki was a pointy-eared nerd and Thor was a kickass dragon lady.
Didn't Cole have some line about 'He approaches me in the Fade like he walks a forest path, looking for wisdom,"?
What the hell was the context of that? It sticks out in my head for being a beautiful and very Solas-y line, but I can't remember if Cole's doing his word-salad character of the day thing or if there was someone specific.
EDIT: I accidentally did unkind things to my quotes. Nranola and Lizasaurus for reference.

Dev notes says oldest friend, so as of now, I'll go by that, but I think my eyebrows will refrain from travelling up towards my hairline if the later reveal something else.
Madrar is really good at coming up with crackpot theories, and I think she (?) at some point will hit a jackpot, if she hasn't already. My favourite is still gilligans island, but not sure who came up with that one.
And where does it say that Dirthamen is not from the same union?

Well that explains why Solas always wanted to camp near 2384729384 bears.

I just did that quest and that part is so freaking weird. The Arcane Warrior seems like it's talking about the humans at first, but then it definitely seems like it's talking about the elves doesn't it? But I think it implies that whoever was there was attacked by something/someone not elven and not human.
EDIT: I found a video of the convo. Starts at about 3:45 Nevermind that video doesn't have the conversation, trying to find another.
Try this one at 14:18

For the record, since it's coming up: I really, really doubt that there was any direct "begetting" among the elvish Pantheon. That's all for the myths, to make the coallition seem united and give it a human dimension.
There may have been something between Mythal and Elgar'nan at some point, (and I don't trust Andruil any further than I can throw her) but they certainly didn't beget Solas in a literal sense. He just "came next" in the general ladder structure of power.

Oh! That bit. My point was and still is, the others tie in nicely with each other, Fen'Harel does not, and I wonder why. It may strengthen the three gods theory or cast doubt.

I don't see why she would have referred to him as "Dread Wolf" or "Old Friend" and not "son" if it the theory were true. They were alone, why would she hide the connection at that moment?
I think she chooses "Dread Wolf" at that point as a signal to him that she knows, and accepts, what he's about to do to her. One last sharp-tongued dig about their history of alliance and betrayal to remember her by. TwT So very Flemeth.

And it looks like we might hit 2000 pages today. That'd be awesome. I'm not artistic so I can't add any fanart to the collection and my mind doesn't work like a genius mad scientist so I won't be providing any new theories.
Hmmm, I'll just go sit in a corner of the thread and let you guys do your thing.
And I'm rambling in this post. I need to stop getting on the thread first thing after I wake up. Oh well, uh, hope everyone's having a good [insert time of day here] and enjoy the snow if you got it.
