Wow I feel like my circle of girls is really taking off. I remember proofing that dragon age highschool video for Backwards Compatibles and begging them to release it.
I'm glad they did... wow I laughed so hard watching that.

I admit I laughed pretty hard at your post. Not because of the content, but the timing of it.
It made me think of a bunch of people yelling about something, and then someone says something random just to get them to stop. Not your intention, I am sure. But I giggled all the same.
"RAWR these people said mean crap about Solas"
"Yeah I didn't like it either!"
"OMG I'm sooo mad too!"
"I LOVE MAP!"*everyone is quiet*
I do have this terrible habit with non-sequiters in real life as well. ![]()
BUt those who say mean crap about Solas are not worthy of my attention. *sassy hair flip*

OMG I just created an inquisitor just for fun who looks like Solas's brother or sth XDDDDDD
Did you see the one where they made an inquisitor that looked like Solas, so that they could romance solas?

You know... it makes me wonder if falling in love at the most bitter and broken moment of his life is the brightest, best thing that could have happened to him. If I am to believe the tarot cards, it must be true.
Clearly something about the relationship, while he determines the best path is to leave it without further development and emotional entanglement, has changed him.
Just a thought.. seeing as a major theme in DA:I has been duality - what if the Orb of Destruction was more than just a weapon to assault the heavens? In the right hands, with the right intentions, it could have been an Orb of Restoration. Hence Solas' near-tears heartbreak when he discovers it cracked in two.
I think the friendship with a non-romanced Inquisitor changes him as well. For reasons kind of the same. Of course not nearly as deeply as the romance changes him.
If you take the option in one conversation he does say that he has no friends other than spirits. I don't think Solas ever expected any acceptance from anyone. Yet another reason why I don't think I'll ever be able to do an Assquisitor play through.

I can play morally suspect protagonists (my maleficar Resolutionist Hawke and Princess Stabbity city elf), but I just can't bring myself to be mean to companions in BioWare's games. I find the vast majority of them well-drawn enough that I empathize with them, and it just hurts too much to stomp all over them. I tried playing a Shepard who gave Legion to Cerberus, and while that decision didn't hurt too badly, doing Rannoch in ME3 without Legion nearly killed that playthrough.

I want to make an assquisitor. in attempt to make a faux rivalmance. ****** solas off on decisions and and his opinions, then do his fetching quests, and he'll like you enough to romance you. aww yes.

It's weird. In KOTOR 1&2, SWTOR I can play the super evil characters pretty easily. Actually I prefer playing Empire in SWTOR. Most of my characters are DS.
The one time I did a Renegade play through of ME trilogy, I essentially made the same choices as I would as Paragon, just using the Renegade choices. Well I did stop Mordin one time, but that's cuz I had Wreav in that play through, so yeah. Never sold Legion though, or anything like that. I had the same resolution on Rannoch as I did when I was Paragon. I just yelled a little sterner at everyone is all!
I really struggled with a PT of DAO where I sided with the Templars, Werewolves, and Branka. I hated that PT lol.
I just can't seem to be mean in these games, or do what amounts to evil ****. Except for if it's a Star Wars game, lol.

LOL...I'm the same way. It's so much fun being Dark Side in the Star Wars games, but I just can't do it in the Dragon Age games. I'm in the middle with the Mass Effect ones. I just care about the characters too much to be mean to them...except Jacob..I hate him.

I had an ok time siding with the templars, since you can still save Irving. But I could never bring myself to wipe out the Dalish or side with Branka. I saved those decisions for random Keep worldstates, and even then, I can never pick the Keep tiles like returning Fenris to Danarius, or giving Izzy to the Arishok. Just seeing the tiles makes me feel slightly ill.

I think the only reason I was able to make those choices is because the Warden is a silent protagonist. Don't know if I could have gone through with that stuff if the words had to come out of my mouth, so to speak. Wiping out the Dalish was horrible. Never do it again. Can't say it was worth experiencing it even once. I had to not recruit Shale to side with Branka. There was no way I could kill Shale.
Yeah I'll never do any of that stuff ever again.

On an entirely off-topic and self-serving note, I have finally gotten my s*** together enough to write DA:I stuff that is NOT smut
I could use some critical feedback on this one. Writing Solas's POV is so much harder than I thought it would be.

Those two achievements remain locked on my system because I can't bring myself to side with Branka or the Werewolves TT.TT
