I got my exact top 5 with:
1) Dorian
2) Solas
3) Zevran
4) Alistair
5) Cole
and my most hated DA characters all at the end (Jowan, The Mother and Mhairi).
The rest is a mismatched of 'I don't really know'
Although Nathaniel Howe at number 9 speaks volumes to me. Oh self, you would have hit dat so bad if you could have. It seems that desire hasn't faded away nearly as much as I thought.
(every day, I browse this thread for great fanworks, and every day, I get great presents. Kudos to the authors!)
Okay, this is not strictly Solas-related, but hear me out: this time, I tried to go the whole game with Cassandra, Varric and Solas, to hear banters I haven't heard. And finally, FINALLY, I got a great pay-off. There's a banter between Varric and Cassandra after the Grey Warden storyline, and it concerns Hawke and companions. And Cassandra is talking about Anders(who naturally wouldn't be able to stay away from my Hawke, being a romance interest), then Hawke's brother, Carver, and finally, Varric, and Varric confirms that yes, all of them would naturally find Hawke at that Grey Warden fortress and tag along, even though Hawke would keep saying it's dangerous.
Anyway, my love for Cassandra just grew tenfold, because Anders-Carver-Varric is my DA2 party forever, and hearing that they would travel again like that is.. is... is like ten birthdays at once, only without becoming ten years older. 
And of course, Cassandra-Varric have the greatest banters about his books.
(and yes, Solas has an incredible amount of banters with Cassandra, too. So I think it's really a worthy(maybe the best) combination, even though because of the banter bug I sometimes get five banters at once and sometimes go for hours without a single one.)

But yes, I love redemption far and beyond tragedy. To see someone overcome something instead of ending with them being punished for their actions...well as you said for me it's more satisfying. Especially when the character deserves it. That's how I feel about Solas -- he deserves a good ending. He isn't messing up out of malice, he just tries to do everything by himself because he doesn't believe others can/should shoulder the burden. He's so bad at helping, but that's all he wants to do! It just seems sort of cruel to punish a character for that mentality. Or to twist him into being power-hungry for the sake of plot. It feels wrong.
That doesn't mean that they won't do it, because they have their story. But I won't like it. I want Solas to screw up, realize it, and actually grow from it instead of us getting a "murderknife y/n?" option. I have so many feels about this! Weekes I am sending you my feels telepathically please treat them kindly! Anyway, I think Weekes will do it justice so... here's hoping.

If I recall correctly, it was during one of PW's interviews (or an article or something) where he said there wasn't a sex scene by design. It wasn't an oversight or a mistake. The gist of what he said was, that because he knew it would be so sad and that Solas would break things off, he didn't want to have the sex scene because that would have made it even harder on the romancers. He wanted to leave it up to the player to decide whether or not they had. In my headcanon, they did - just based off their body language and how they acted together in the last scene, and how attached they were and how hard the breakup hit both of them (plus Solas's "getting you into bed is a side benefit") comment.
I think the Solas romance did lack content - but it had more meaning. It had more intensity. Cullen = warm, fuzzy, safe. Solas = getting struck by lightning, consuming, deep
Totally agree with this. Although I admit I would've liked a sex scene with my Lavellan and Solas the romance was incredible (except the break up) and I like that PW left it up to the players.

Yes, she left a few months ago to pursue some other opportunity. I saw a random blog post in Twitter, so it seemed like a really quiet departure.
I read somewhere I think that one of the reasons she left was because her mom is sick and wanted to move closer to her mother,I could be wrong though.

I was wondering if there were perhaps any parts (big or small) in the main story and narrative of Inquisition that were changed over the writing period or if you were 100% certain about how the main story would progress from the get go. Also what would you say was the best thing to write in Dragon age.
As I’ve said before, every game I’ve worked on goes through an extended period where things get cut and/or iterated upon extensively. Inquisition was no exception. In fact, Inquisition probably had more of that then even I’m accustomed to by virtue of the fact that it was structurally very different from what we’ve done before (in terms of how the plot was progressed, and how it had to exist in conjunction with the massive exploration elements).
So, yes, the first draft of the Inquisition plot looked quite different from how it eventually ended up — which is both good and bad. Good in that first drafts of anything usually suck pretty hard. Bad in that there’s an element of narrative cohesion that gets progressively harder to maintain as the elements change while you’re still writing. It would be like trying to write a novel while constantly changing the outline and re-writing the parts you’ve already worked on — with both a committee of editors and a group of other authors. It can be done, but it’s a difficult juggling act to make it work.
I’d say that, overall, we ended up cutting about a third of what was originally planned (good thing, too, considering how big everything ended up being), with the beginning and ending probably changing the most radically. No, I won’t go into detail on how.
As for what was the best thing to write? Personally? Without spoiling too much for those who haven’t reached it, I’d say the encounter between Morrigan and Flemeth. It was difficult to manage (due to having three different version in which it could occur), but it was something I had a vision for right from the get-go, and it was great to finally get it out and then watch two great actresses turn in such excellent performances for it.

I mostly agree with it. The top is definitly accurate and so is the bottom. The middle is a bit muddied, but I guess it's because it's full of a lot of characters I didn't have strong feelings about.

I agree with you. He and I shared some words back on a fanfiction site for BG back in the day when I used to actually write some. That was about 15 years ago, but I see the same sort of thing from him from time to time, which I find unfortunate.
That character sorter is funny. It gave me Flemeth, Cole and Solas as top 3 which is pretty close I think. After that it gets very inaccurate.

(Didn't let Solas take my vallaslin and didn't take Cole with me afterwards, so there's no way to trigger that party banter.
I didn't know about the second one - maybe it'll activate now that the final battle is won? - but it is interesting to hear more of Solas' POV.)
The second one is very buggy because Cole is buggy. It will start automatically 90% of the time, but there's also a chance Cole may fail to load.
You'll still get the banter with Cole and Solas if you keep the vallaslin, it's just slightly different.
