Are we sure that's Mythal?  And not just a spirit?  I've only seen that scene once so far, and I could've sworn it was Quizzy (who drank from the well) that started to glow and activated the mirror, so I may not have seen that version at all.  Either way, I really hesitate to believe Mythal wasn't an elf without anything more concrete. 

 

Apparently someone on Reddit datamined the scene and it's naked Flemeth defending the Well but that does come third/fourth hand and the person who mentioned it in General didn't post a link so who knows if it's true or not.

I believe she was thinking about everyone she was responsible for that would be killed if they continued to be too stubborn to give in.  Most of the mages weren't interested in fighting, they were in a situation where a bunch of templars just wanted to kill them, and with the Chantry leadership gone, there was nowhere else for them to turn. Alexius always manages to reach Fiona before the Inquisition due to time magic. The Hinterlands was a mess, sending more mages out there to fix it would have just resulted in more fighting.  And more innocents in the crossfire.  Simply harboring mages was getting people killed.  This was all the more reason my Lavellan took the mages in as full allies.  There was no Circle, the Chantry was useless, and the templars had lost their minds.  Her Inquisition essentially became a temporary Circle to collect mages and offer them protection as well as protect others from them until everything could be sorted out.

 

She lead the mages in rebellion and started a war... but didn't want to fight? o.O That really doesn't help my feelings towards her.

To me it didn't even look like the current Flemeth, the hair was in a bun and she wasn't old. I think it was a mix of original Flemeth and Mythal, showing how their symbiotic relationship had effected even the Well. 

 

Which does put a hole in my Mythal was sent through the eluvian and Solas killed Flemeth and the power she'd been growing for just this event theory.

So there I was studying what could I do with Solas's pajamas, because after what I did for my Inquisitor's I'd have to try hard and get something nice done... Looking at some screenshots occurred to me that Solas's facial structure is actually very similar to Thranduil (Elf king from Lord of The Rings/Hobbit).

 

I did not only a pajamas texture inspired on the King for Solas, but also a face texture as well, because I decided I want him to be an elf king  (Adela I will really need a long hair Thranduil style for my Solas now!)

Oh, wow! This triggered a memory. I remember when people were originally putting up game files and one said something about "wet, naked Flemeth" and people were freaking out/wondering if it was a dev joke. IT MAKES SENSE NOW.
 
I'd forgotten about that until you brought it up.
 
Also, for the theory-crafters (I'm terrible at that), all this talk about the elves, the dwarves, Andruil and red lyrium... makes me think back to DA2 with that Primeval Thaig and The Profane. Any thoughts?

She led the vote for independence, the templars insisted on it being a war.  At least she was willing to try to find a peaceful solution.  I respect that she didn't want to lead a bunch of mages, including apprentices to their deaths because she was too prideful to stop fighting.
