Bless you!  I wish I could Like that more than once.  Think I have been a fan for 20 years now.  Only musician that has stuck with me since I was a teen.  (shhh I am still youngish, only 34!      )

Solas' unrequited love for Lavellan...how much effing sadder can it get?! I literally cannot do it anyway, but even if I felt that I could romance someone else as Lavellan I'd never do it, because of that. I'm sure we all know that pain...

 

Solas sits in the rotunda writing depressing poetry and listening to this on repeat...

What I was GOING to do was have Lavellan kiss Solas in the Fade, and then agree just to be friends because he seemed really hesitant about the whole thing.  I thought that Solas would let it go that way.  I wanted to go for Cullen with her, but have no self control and couldn't resist the Solas Fade kiss regardless O.o.  I don't have the heart to tell Solas "no way, get over it" after he brings up the kiss again so she can smooch Cullen, so here I am... even knowing how it will end.

It's a not-so-well-kept secret for me, but I am a hopeless romantic.  But more so the tragic kind. (Heh go figure, right? Solas wasn't an indicator of that, at all, nooooo)  What I should do is just put Still (CD 2 from And All That Could Have Been) on repeat until I've purged out all the sad.  

 

We're In This Together, now that's my kind of love song, hah!

Zev is one of my favourite DAO companions. So many people dismissed him as shallow, when there's so much more to him. As for Dorian, I didn't expect to like him as much as I did. He surprised me, in a good way; I wasn't interested in him at the beginning, but he won me over over the course of the game.

 

I love Zev, his character arc, and the devotion he has is really beautiful.  As much as I originally wanted my canon Warden to be able to romance Alistair, I felt like Zevran was better for him in the longterm.  And yeah, I was kinda "eh" about Dorian to begin with, but he's so damn charming.  And now he's working on ruining my plans with his charm, lol.

I was at my best then...from a creative perspective... Now that I'm older (41), I much prefer fluff tyvm!

Does anyone know if "What Lies Dormant" has ever been confirmed as a bugged quest?

 

It doesn't look like anyone has ever done this mission and the only details about it seem to have come from the Prima Guide. Just wondering if that mission might have been cut from the final game.

Yup, it's bugged.  It only exists in our myths and legends until whenever it gets fixed (hopefully).

So, I tried something new with Solas.  I had my Lavellan kiss him in the Fade and then agree just to be friends after she woke up and spoke to him (and I didn't go back a save).  This is what Solas had to say after he returned to Skyhold after All New, Faded for Her.  Err, I'm not sure what to make of it but yeah.  I picture my Lavellan being all kinds of confused (like me):

I think I got the same response from him with my human noble without any romantic prelude.

 

But I keep getting different options and sentences with new playthroughs, I start to get confused... For example, I always pick the sarcastic lines for Florianne when confronting her in the yard. But this time my inquisitor said something else than usually. Also, my human-noble-"I am the herald!"-inquisitor had the option to throw herself at Mythal's feet at the altar, while my Dalish "I see no Herald, fools"-mage could only say "Ah, cool, thanks for coming". It is curious how slight differences in my choices change things. And don't get me started on wondering why an Andrastian should readily worship Mythal while a Dalish will not.

Well... for the same reason a Dalish can ask "Who is Mythal?" and other such things?

he does call everyone shems, it felt like he was pointing at me personally. I can't remember the exact sequence, but after I tried to implore him to reveal himself to our people who need him and his companions, he totally shut me down that none of the "people" today are his people. I'd assume that with that attitude, regardless of what is said, he would still consider Solas to be just another shem in his eyes unless there is something special he sees.

I just played this part last night, so what happens (at least for me) is: Abelas tells me that I have the characteristics of those that "call themselves Elvhen" now. Obviously he does not consider "Elvhen" to be closely related to him. So calling Solas "Elvhen like you" later on does not necessarily mean he thinks "like you and me", but simply "like you" - "like you, Solas" or "like you two", both could be possible.

 

I do not mean to disagree about him seeing Solas as something special. In fact, I am not sure. He should notice Solas being special simply by learning that Solas really speaks and understands Elven, while Lavellan has grown rather distant to the ancient Elven culture. Also, why does Lavellan refer to Solas *at all* when meeting Abelas and his guys? She seems to think Solas is closer to them than she is, she assumes some further knowledge, understanding, or connection between Solas and Abelas. So, if I was Abelas and I see one elf asking another elf to speak to me, I would already assume the first elf does not feel too sure about her heritage. Starting from that point it is not too surprising for me that Abelas rather turns to Solas and disregards Lavellan.

 

So while I do not wish to disagree, I simply tried to point out that this cutscene is the same for both, Dalish and human, and hence I do not think it is supposed to imply to much about comparing Solas/Dalish inquisitor.

I think I hit a bug.  I just checked with Sera about Solas and I got the default dialogue instead of her "elven glory" comment.

 

Well, that was strange o.o ... I guess that throws my old comments out the window.  Sorry, guys.  It was a bug, nothing special about his romance XD

Did anyone find 10 or more artifacts before finishing All New, Faded For Her? Since it looks like that certain quest (or balcony scene after it) is responsible for at least some dialogue bugs (Solas not commenting on Inquisitor's specialization if getting it after it) and does not appear in the list of finished Inner Circle quests. I will do it on my next PT, but maybe someone tried that already?

Yes, he did. I took it as a "You shape the future of this world". And it did not strike me as odd.

But, I must repeat, I keep getting minor differences - for example (because somebody mentioned it a few posts ago) my current Dalish mage cannot ask "Who is Mythal?", she only gets options implying that she knows. I have no idea as to how their array of variables must look like to determine the options and lines we get.

Once I could even pursue a Solas romance though I had already committed to Cullen.
