Not to get too deep into theory, but even if massive amounts of lyrium are required in their construction (probably a very good bet) they wouldn't have had to dig for it: Mythal was right there, and more than likely willing to help.  Blood of the Earth and all.   Even if her physical presence had something a bit more like blood running in its veins, her original body would have been on the surface for the mining.

...as morbid as that sounds, now that I say it out loud.   owO

Oh crap no.  Her physical body - her corpse from the Fall - is the earth.   The veins of lyrium actual veins.  The dwarves-as-immune-system thing is suddenly... kind of... whoa.  I need to think about this.  I don't know what that would make the Stone, though- it's definitely Mythal, and yet it isn't.  Like her dead corpse's actual brain, but then why is it still... kind of active?   Still a little there?   The network is still somewhat accessible through her blood, like a combined nervous system and circulatory system in one.  But still- very dead.  Very much a corpse.

Ugh.  My head hurts.

And man, dwarves are kind of gross.  Sorry Varric.

When is someone going to explain to me wtf a Titan is? I asked a few days ago and I think I must have missed the explanation.

Ugh.

You guys are all so deep and thoughtful and shite and I'm just sitting here basking in all of the awesome theories with absolutely nothing of value to add to the discussion. My mind is all "I wonder if, when Solas blushes, his ears blush too. That would be so cute." Like, seriously. STAHP BECCA, is what I say to myself. Just stop it, you dumb bum.

But really, you are all amazing. Don't change.

What! If Solas wasn't race gated, I would choose the more beautiful and majestic race dwarf. Everyone should aspire to be them. They invented holograms.

Agreed, for the most part. Centuries of elven knowledge would be lost if a human apostate with a track record of disappearing without a trace drank it.

As Lavellan can tell Morrigan: "It's my heritage."

I had no idea what to do for Cole's personal quest, and only had Solas' and Varric's advice to go off of. While Solas is a general spirit expert, Varric seemed to come from a place of personal understanding. He made a compelling argument that becoming more human is something that Cole wants, and mentioned how he's been there himself (his own brother and all). I thought, "How can I deny Cole something he truly wants because I think I know better?" So I very tentatively allowed Varric to help. I felt bad when Solas was angry, but felt like, "What's done is done."

I was still fretting about it when I took Cole out to lunch, but when he said, "Gentle. You watch me walk into darkness over and over, and you always worry. Thank you." I thought: D'AWWWWW!! Totally worth it!

(Even better, when he admits that part of the reason he was afraid of letting people remember him was because he was afraid of hurting or losing people, because he had equated "change" to "losing friends," but can now laugh with relief over how silly that was.)

The writers went to a lot of trouble to make it seem like there's no "right answer" to handling Cole's personal quest; it can really go either way and depend on what you personally think. That was just the reason my Lavellan chose to make him more human, and I chose to save instead of redoing his personal quest.

EDIT: I still felt bad over how Solas reacted, but oh well. Chalk it up to different parenting  methods.

I prefer to turn Cole human. I think he'll be able to help better if he's able to learn and understands what it is to be a person.

No I agree with ya'll...in a way. It does seem he's happy with both paths but I think he's less burdened when he's a spirit.

Also I don't agree with everything Solas says I just felt horrible when he disapproved cause I do agree with him on Cole being a spirit I just wanted to choose the human path to see what will happen. :)

Oh no, no, no.  Don't think like that.  @w@

We need blushy Solas ears- that's just as much him as any of this crazy theory stuff.

This thread is Solasy right down to the core.  His character is all about Balance, and I think all of us together make a good one.

Will the ancient whispers give you date tips? Or will the inquisitor forever be romance gated for the rest of her days?

I am seriously spending the rest of the day going through all the Dwarven codex entries to figure it out myself. The only clues I picked up IN GAME in DA:I was Dagna's weird fade-lyrium-sample-drug-trip and Kieran's comment to a dwarven inquisitor. That's the only time I can think of that the word 'Titan' arises.

Yeah, my gut feeling is that there has to be some middle ground between our theories.  The titans are Mythal, and yet not.  They're part of her, while still somehow being their own thing.  Like, semi-independent structures within the greater body.  Bigger than the immune system particles of dwarves.

But... how would that work, really?

It doesn't seem quite natural.  Like it doesn't map, really, to any obvious biological idea.   My hunch here is June.   He took what was there- the basic defense system of the dead dragon-corpse that formed the world-prison for the Sun, and did something with it.  And that was titans.

But that's so tenuous.  I might join you in this codex-fishing expedition.  There's something we're missing.

Pffft not a problem at all! When Morrigan kinda hints that the Inquisitor could raise themselves to godhood, I was like...

TELL ME. TELL ME HOW. I've got an entire race of people to save, an anti-hero to rescue from himself, and an ancient darkspawn magister to squash. And that's just TODAY. Who knows what's going to fall out of the sky next to threaten us with the apocalypse TOMORROW? I GOT THIS.

Hi guys, quick question.
Does anyone a video or a link to one of the post break up Solas and Cole banter where the "Please, Cole" choice was chosen, or no choice at all?
I'm burning with curiosity about what Lavellan says and how she sounds (sad, I bet she sounds really sad) and if Cole and Solas say something else.
I haven't gotten the banter choice yet, if I did I'd probably choose asking Cole to stop. I think it would fit my Lavellan the best.

Ugh, Ancient elves. They have almost an eternity to court, the inquisitor has 80 mortal years to court an ass. And that ass loses it's elasticity over time. Ancient elves don't physically age, their bosoms stay perfectly 23. Ugh, ancient elves.

Then I'm guilty, too. lol That's now my default deciding factor. Though I do like the drinking choice better since you can take Solas to the fight and Quiz mentions Flemeth in front of him. Since not being able to tell the Elven fade nerd I met one of the 'gods' kinda irked me. WHY NOT!? Ugh.

On the bright side, if the Anchor really is growing back Lavellan's fade-shadow and she's ancient-elfifying, then... sweet.   She gets dat ass for all time.

It made me think of this old SNL skit:

 https://screen.yahoo...-000000006.html

That was... really disturbing. Hilarious but disturbing. I'm constantly glad my childhood wish of turning into a medieval princess never came true.

Ugh.

I bet... his ears wiggle too

They are also worked on, plied and molded, but I think in this case the lyrium just makes up the casing with the poor dwarf soul inside. It's just an alloy but the two metals doesn't meld properly, the just intertwine, so they wouldn't regain their fade connection I assume a titan would have.

Does this even make sense? I think at some point between listening to backmasking and scouring codex entries I think I left my brain somewhere and I can't find it.

My brain's pretty tired too right now, but it makes sense. We're probably on the same fried wavelength :))
