Oh no, no, no.  Don't think like that.  @w@

We need blushy Solas ears- that's just as much him as any of this crazy theory stuff.

This thread is Solasy right down to the core.  His character is all about Balance, and I think all of us together make a good one.

Haha! I know, it's just when I pop in to make a comment and you guys are getting all in-depth it actually makes me feel like how it would if we were all just sitting at a table talking about it and I just said that in the middle of the conversation.

"So, Mythal/Flemeth/Andraste -"

"SOLAS' LIGHT FRECKLES ARE A PLEASING SIDE BENEFIT!!!1!!"

*blinks* "Um...Wut?"

In other news, I'm going back to school in a few days..which means that I am never going to be able to catch back up to this thread. *sighs for 5 years straight*

Hi guys, quick question.
Does anyone a video or a link to one of the post break up Solas and Cole banter where the "Please, Cole" choice was chosen, or no choice at all?
I'm burning with curiosity about what Lavellan says and how she sounds (sad, I bet she sounds really sad) and if Cole and Solas say something else.
I haven't gotten the banter choice yet, if I did I'd probably choose asking Cole to stop. I think it would fit my Lavellan the best.

No video and only half screencaps but Lavellan says, "I would rather not discuss it, Cole." Cole says, "I'm sorry." If Lavellan doesn't respond it goes to Cole's "I'm sorry." And Solas follows that up with, "It was my doing, not yours."

On the bright side, if the Anchor really is growing back Lavellan's fade-shadow and she's ancient-elfifying, then... sweet.   She gets dat ass for all time.

@w@

*Solas greatly approves*

What's the fade-shadow? I feel like I'm missing a theory.

What's the fade-shadow? I feel like I'm missing a theory.

In theory, it's the half of mortal existance that Earth-Mythal granted to Her first Children: the proto-elves.  The soul, pretty much.  A direct conduit to the Fade that allowed them to draw on it (like Cole does) to sustain their bodies, and was thus source of their immortality.  I haven't written up the whole theory yet, but it connects to the inheritance rules of magic, and elvish immortality and the Quickening and all that.

Someone had an HQ Eye texture. Not only is the texture higher quality, it is also brighter. This means the shaders that determine the eyecolor will be more vibrant. There aren't any eyecolor comparisons on the page so here's a couple before and after:

Totally random thought, but am I the only one who would kill to have some Dragon Age: Inquisition action figures? I mean, I know DA:O had some figurines released way back of Morrigan, Duncan, Loghain, and a Hurlock but really, just the thought of owning a Solas figurine....

Hell, Mass Effect has got some great ones (the Square-Enix Play Arts series). I just wonder if Bioware will ever release some for DA:I. As someone who collects figurines, this is important to me. :P

Hahaha! Nope. While I totally get why people are turned off to the idea of Lavellan or any of their Inquisitors heading down that direction, I am SO EXCITED.

Seriously, a character who rose from the ashes of the Elvhen's slaves, overcoming millenia of slavery, subjugation, forced migration and ignorance, rising through all the **** the other Gods/ Blight threw their way, and earning Dragon Age's ambrosia equivalent with every trial of their journey... It's oddly poetic to me.

Because as the descendent of a slave, technically they should or could have never been anyone important, but they do. Defying it all because of WHO they are and the choices they've made. Showing those very gods who would have sacrificed you with hundreds of others in a single ritual without batting an eyelash or even considering your individuality that YOU matter, that each of the people they killed for their petty fights for power mattered? Priceless.

And I know what choice my Lavellan would make - instead of being intent to sit on Elven-Olympus, she'd go back down the mountain to help the People until they didn't need her guidance anymore.

Totally get that that's not everyone's cup of tea however and I'm not going to even insinuate that it should be.

Awww, but I miss the near-violet inner eye color he had. it was so beautiful and unexpected!

HEADCANON accepted.

I don't talk about my Inky at all, but I def figure she would stay and try to teach the Dalish with whatever the well has taught her.

Loving all these texture mods. I haven't used any yet, but I intend to go crazy once there's a fair bit of them released. The fixes to Leliana and Morrigan's makeup alone are fantastic. Both of those bothered me ingame. [Who uses yellow eyeshadow professionally? Come on, Leli. That's for the club.]

Then I'm guilty, too. lol That's now my default deciding factor. Though I do like the drinking choice better since you can take Solas to the fight and Quiz mentions Flemeth in front of him. Since not being able to tell the Elven fade nerd I met one of the 'gods' kinda irked me. WHY NOT!? Ugh.

ME TOO! I ran to him thinking about nerding with him all over the rotunda ....aaaand nothing.

I also drank from the Well, supposedly Solas begged me not to drink...when did that ever happen!? All I heard him say was "Someone should take the power of the Well". Even so , I still would have drank from the well like:

Solas: Inquisitor, don't drink from the well pleeeeaase!

Lavellan: I'mma do it! Dives into the well like a graceful swan, spilling most of it.

I thought I should do it in the name of science,  and because Morrigan likes to take what she wants pack her **** and leave. What if I need that power later on? I'm not chasing after her again. Also I wanted the option to LOL in her face when found out that she's bound to her mum.

Well, I wasn't thinking about mind reading. More like he can see beyond her physical self and see the purity of her spirit/soul or something. And this is due to the link that developed from her having the mark.

Edit: Top of the page means I need to post a pic right?

To creep Tielis out hehe

I'm living with my sister and her three children under the age of five, so no valuable collectables that can be mistaken for playthings for me.
With that said, BioWare definitely needs to start creating the Solas merchandise. I want a Solas romance T-shirt! Or better yet, a blanket!! Then when people ask me what it's from I can be like "This is my pixel boyfriend from the video game Dragon Age. He broke up with me so now I'm going all stalker ex girlfriend on him! No I'm not weird!!!!"

I feel like it's missing alot of funny stuff from being an assquisitor.

Introduction of All new, fade for her quest:

Inquisitor: "I thought you didn't have any friends"

Solas: "I don't"

Later at the scene:

Solas: My friend!

Solas: Groans

Inquisitor: Wisdom Spirit my ass.

Okay, so this video quite eloquently summarizes what we actually know specifically of Solas: and shows clips of his convos referencing it.
https://www.youtube....h?v=WkT8Pza89MA

  1. Wiki clarifies Solas is a dreamer: http://dragonage.wik...om/wiki/Dreamer

  2. And also that the ancient elvhen caste system/ hierarchy is such that dreamers were at the top and considered the most powerful of mages. Before the ages were named or numbered

    http://dragonage.wik...m/wiki/Arlathan

Before the ages were named or numbered, our people were glorious and eternal and never-changing. They felt no need to rush when life was endless. They worshipped their gods for months at a time. Decisions came after decades of debate, and an introduction could last for years. From time to time, our ancestors would drift into centuries-long slumber, but this was not death, for we know they wandered the Fade in dreams.

—From Codex entry: Arlathan: Part One

"Take the richest district in Val Royeaux, and add the magic that was part of our everyday life. Every statue fountain could speak through the water that poured from her mouth. Every column glowed with runes the fools in Tevinter copied by rote like children tracing letters. When night fell, the roads were lit by stones like these, bright enough to find your way safely, but soft enough that you could still see the stars." -Felassan[5]

Elvhenan had, however, a far more complex--and sometimes troubled--society than may be imagined from the outside. As an empire, Elvhenan relied on a class system, one that often elevated its nobility at the expense of its servant class; little different than the societies and cultures (and even, potentially,Slavery) of any other race on Thedas.[7] Indeed, the lower classes of elves were treated little different by their fellow elves than City elves are treated byhuman nobility in modern-day Orlais.[8]

It appears possible as well that Dreamer mages comprised the top of ancient elven society, and that this may have created some resentment among the lower classes, particular as the empire fell and Dreamers were perhaps seen as failing to help. Some Dreamers have been discovered to have been murdered while in Uthenera[10]

  3. This is also how the pre-tevinter humans began the tevinter empire: http://dragonage.wik...om/wiki/Dreamer "The first known dreamer was Thalsian.

    circa - 1595 Ancient

Thalsian is the first Neromenian dreamer and First Priest of Dumat, one of the first among the humans said to communicate with the Old Gods in visions of a "Realm of the Gods" (assumed to be the Fade).

He came from the Neromenian tribes and claimed that he ventured to the Realms of the Gods where the Old God Dumat taught him blood magic.[3]. The Old Gods are said to have taught many members of the Neromenian tribes magic and over time, the Neromenian Dreamers become both priests and kings.[4]"

  4. Start of the Elvhenan fall:
    http://dragonage.wik...m/wiki/Elvhenan

roughly 1900 years before the Dragon Age = 1 TE? (did I math this right?)

Presumably elves had already existed on Thedas for some time, but the elven calendar dates events from the founding of Arlathan 8,400 years before the Dragon Age.[13] The start of Elvhenan's fall can probably be dated to the crowning of the first Archon of the Tevinter Imperium nearly six and a half millennia later in what came to be known as 1 TE.[13]
rather than fight, the elves chose to flee and that with
magicdemons, and even dragons at their behest, the Tevinter magisters used their great destructive power to force the very ground to swallow Arlathan whole, destroying eons of collected knowledge, culture, and art.[14]

  5. On Andraste & Shartan:
    http://dragonage.wik...m/wiki/Elvhenan

    and centuries pass.

As the Tevinter Imperium continued to spread over Thedas, Elvhenan fell and the elves were enslaved, losing their lore and supposedly losing their immortality. It was to be centuries before the elves were freed by Shartan andAndraste and found a new homeland in the Dales.

  6. When the empire was destroyed, the servant class of elves rose up and killed any Dreamer mages they could find.

  7. Lastly - this alternate story seems relevant:
http://dragonage.wik...ne and unaided.[4] An alternate version of this tale has both camps of gods seeking out a weapon in their respective realms that Fen'Harel promised would bring their war to an end.[5]Whatever the reason, the Forgotten Ones' hunger for destruction made them easy prey for his manipulation, but did not detract from their malice and their allure.

I hope all that helps, sorry I'm so far behind on reading the theories going around. :}

Totally why I made my "Screw Morrigan" world state that I'm about to finish. It's been GLORIOUS. The next one for her is all sunshine and rainbows to make up for it. But seriously, after her crippling Mother-Paranoia and vilification, Morrigan's discovery that she was the one who willingly bound herself to Flemeth in the end? Priceless. Seriously, those feels tasted so good they might as well have been whipped cream and strawberries on french toast.

I like the sassy reply by the Inquisitor "Forced to obey your mother, huh? Ouch." XD Rubbing salt in the wound my dear!
