What happens if you kill Lily in DA:O? Who is the spymaster?
Zombie Leliana. But seriously, they retconned that. She survives and kind of glosses over it.

People link a lot of fics! Anything about it you remember?
If it's Endless Journey that Brass_Buckles is writing this is the link: http://forum.bioware...ost-dai-fanfic/
Even if it isn't you should read it: it's awesome!
So, I'm curious about what is your canon reaction to the break up, as in specifically which line do you pick?
- please, dont' leave
- whatever you need we'll find it
- tell me you don't care
- banal abelas, banal vehnan
- we don't always get what we want
- we all make mistakes
For me, it's please don't leave, because it fits her, and also because I think the "in another world" line is very nice and it's the one that leaves me with a less bitter taste.
But "tell me you don't care" it's a second close, the scene turns out it even more intense, I like it a lot,
but it doesn't suit every Lavellan, I think (silly thing to say, no answer suit every Lavellan)
Tell me you don't care. I love how he says 'i can't do that'. it fit my lavellan a little more.
In retrospect I really like the Solas romance. Just because I see it more critically doesn't mean it has no appeal to me. It's just that I see many sides of everything, often contradictory and yet they make sense in my mind. I see Solas' gift of removing her slave markings as both incredibly sweet, cruel and kind of selfish. Sweet because it embodies everything he stands for: freedom/change and love. He frees her from ignorance, from the shackles of the past, she is no longer bound to the gods. Which includes him. He sets her free out of love. To love is to let go. But it's cruel of him to tell her so terrible a truth only to leave her to deal with the shock by herself. It's terrible timing but I think he didn't plan to leave her right then. And it's also a selfish gift because he kind of erases his own mistake from her face. As long as she has the vallaslin, he's painfully reminded of what he's done to the elves. Notice how he only says how beautiful she is when she agrees to have it removed? That kind of puts a dent in this sweet moment... it's still a great scene.
I don't think he did. The way it's written, it's open to interpretation. But if you listen to the latest Patrick Weekes interview, he gives some insight on what was going through Solas mind in that scene, and basically says he brought her there to tell her the whole truth about everything, but chickens out at the last minute because he's a step away from just forgetting everything. So that moment where he stops and his expression changes is him realizing he's at the point of no return. I know some people feel he was intentionally being cruel with the timing of it, but doesn't sound like that was the writer's intention.
Knowing that made the scene even more sad, because I had chosen dialogue to encourage him to help elves, and had Cole become more human because he "needed to remember". So I can't help but feel like Lavellan is (unknowingly) encouraging him to leave just as much as she is encouraging him to stay. Tragic. ![]()
I didn't know his line differed at the end based on which romance response was chosen. What does he say instead? Does it revert back to the respect line?
If you did the angry breakup he says "You were right to be angry. I hope, in time, you will understand."
If you did the sad breakup he says "No matter what comes, I want you to know that what we had was real."

This one.. oh gosh I go crazy reading it T_T too... much ah<3
which vallaslins did you guys take for your characters?

I picked Mythal's vallaslin, but only because I thought it looked pretty. xD (I didn't know which vallaslin represented which god at the time.)
I guess Andruil's would have been a more fitting one for her since she's the Goddess of the Hunt (and my Tala being an archer) but the "Protector" aspect of Mythal's is also kind of fitting in a way since as a hunter, one of her duties is to protect the clan. Also, since she eventually becomes the Inquisitor tasked with protecting the people of Thedas, this vallaslin is even more appropriate. ![]()

I picked the same line as you. Also for the same reasons. I might be a bit of a masochist since I love the drama and the heartbreak that those lines give me. ![]()
Plus, my heart crumbles to dust when she says, "I love you". It's soooo sad!
(I used Alix's voice btw.)

I just want to point out that even though Lavellan just kissed Solas in the fade in the first romance scene, that doesn't mean that she's being too forceful with him or whatever. She had no idea she was dreaming and that he was real. People do impulsive stuff in dreams all the time.
Edit: If anything, Solas is in the wrong by bringing you to the fade without preparing you.
Fluffy idealism does bite you in the ass in Mass Effect on a few occasions. I think it even gets you killed at one time. Paragon/renegade was a simplistic approach, I agree. But it served its purpose within the story. I too like it when I have to think for a while what to do and not be sure at all. And Mass Effect offers no hard choices. You always know what to do. It's not as straight-forward in DA and I like that.
DAO really punished you a lot for idealism. The philosophy in it was very geared towards utilitarianism, I thought. And ME is all about....the ruthless calculus in the end. Every ending is tragic. It's like finding out there's no mount doom in Lord of the Rings to destroy the ring. It's a complete subversion of that idea.
I got some guy calling be all kinds of bad things on youtube because I let solas kill the mages.
I thought the point of the scene was to see spirits as equals to mortals. They feel pain and suffer just like anyone else. And her life was worth justice to me.
I don't think they learned their lesson though. I still think they don't think her (the wisdom spirit's) life mattered. If those mages had tortured and killed a mortal woman for blood magic, i think a lot more people would have killed them.
That's exactly what i think! If his friend is not a spirit but a human/elf, tortured and murdered, I believe more people would let Solas kill them.

I don't follow Patrick Weekes, but that's how I interpreted it too. The change on his face is nicely animated. I wrote elsewhere that you can actually SEE the realization dawn on him that he needs to end it now. It's really heart-breaking. The scene is cruel but not by intent.

so, we did a photoshoot today, and our Inquisitor (gravitydoll on tumblr) was kind enough to take some photos with me. this is the first one that came out.

My canon Lavellan hasn't actually gotten there yet, but I went through it with Chesha before I lost her saves. To be honest, I'm very indecisive about which should be Tiger Festival's final answer when she does get there.
Without a doubt, "I'm not giving up. Whatever you need, we'll find it!" fits her the best. However, there is no satisfactory follow up when he insists that she truly should give up and that she'll see why. I really need a foot stomp, a stubborn expression , and a chance for her to say with great determination, "No, you'll see. There isn't anything we can't do, together!"
But since that isn't an option, I will probably settle on, "Don't leave me. I love you!" It's still true to her feelings and he calls her Vhenan in reply. That one word is reassurance that his feelings for her aren't diminished, and as a season ticket holder for team expect-the-worst, I am greedy for every tiny bit of hope I can find that this isn't the end for them.
