So much this! Solas is definitely my first choice, but considering how much unexpected characters have grown on me in the other games, I know I'm going to come out of my first playthrough with a completely different perspective on all of our companions and advisers. The voice acting always plays a huge part, and we've heard so little of it. Like, I already know that no matter what I think I'm going to do, I may well end up with Cullen for my first LI because of Greg Ellis's voice. I'll tell myself I'll resist and then FEELS WILL HAPPEN and I'll be done for.
I had the opposite situation from you in Origins. I fell hard for Alistair immediately and really didn't get the whole Zevran thing. But I made myself try it after my first couple of times through, and omg.
There's so much more to him than I'd expected, and I now love romancing him. It's such a sweet arc.
Yeah, it'll be interesting to see what sort of romance develops organically for me. I'll never forget that feeling the first time I played DAO. It was my first BioWare game, so I had zero clue there were even romances in it. Until out of seemingly nowhere Alistair hands my female Dalish elf rogue a rose and I died a thousand deaths of squee OMG.
Cards Against Humanity is AMAZING. It's evil, adult fun. It's been far too long since I've gotten to play it, too. It's always fun bringing someone new in and seeing how shocked they can be when they find out who layed down which cards. "WAIT! But YOU'RE the one who laid that down!? I was sure it was so-and-so!!" hehehe
See, I have the appearance and general demeanor of naivety and innocence. Not really sure why, but people just always look at me and think innocent baby angel wings and stuff. It's that way both online and in real life, guess maybe just an ingrained characteristic of me.
But I can be pretty raunchy/devious, so I just slaughtered everyone at that game last night on my very first time playing it. Because some of the things I did, nobody expected that from me. Nobody. It was <Cailan> GLORIOUS!

Conversely, I feel we should invade the Varricmancers and party over there, should we hear that Varric is a LI (and double party if we get Solas and Varric!)

I doubt bioware would leave out companion romances for het females. Only having an npc would be way unfair. Also, only having iron bull as a romance option is also cruel. I play for the romances. Why add 8 romances and only one companion for het girls?
There's still slots left and Patrick is writing a romance and I doubt his romance tweets are about iron bull.
Im almost positive Solas is an LI. Bioware wouldn't forget us like that.

I don't want to get you down, but I really need to address some of this...
Why would only having Iron Bull be cruel? Sure, I don't find him attractive and his described personality is definitely not my thing. But, there are plenty of people who think he's just amazing and hot and fantastic. So no, it wouldn't be cruel, just not to the tastes of some people in this thread.
There is also no indication that things will be equal. Many women begged and pleaded for Cullen, so now that he is in-game, it may be that the writers and developers felt that women would already be happy with what they had. I do not personally want Cullen--he's hot, but his anti-mage attitude means most of my characters will not like him. I would prefer if straight women could have a companion romance, other than Iron Bull, and I am sure we will--it will be among Varric, Blackwall, or Solas. I wouldn't expect this character to be straight, but rather bisexual. We may even get two of those three, though it is doubtful.
Iron Bull is confirmed as a romance. Why would Patrick Weekes's romance tweets not be about Iron Bull, who is confirmed as a romance?
Allan is coming in probably because he's noticed how up-and-down this thread is. He isn't allowed to reveal anything, though he may know when the next reveal is planned. Romances do not actually matter that much to him; he's said so repeatedly. He could be feeling bad for us because we won't get Solas as an LI and he knows we really want that. Or he could be trying to keep our hopes up because we will. We won't know until after the fact. I wouldn't read too much into his posts or his presence. He's in the QA department and, even if he wanted to, he is not allowed to tell us one way or another. That will most likely be handled by a writer.
Now all that said, I'm not trying to bring anybody down. Your post is right in one thing: There are two spots left. Most likely Vivienne is one of them. The other, I think will be either Varric or, less likely, Solas. But we may all be surprised and it could be Blackwall.
I just wish Weekes would reveal something so that we could all move on.

People do that with me in RL too. Not sure if the halo-effect, as it's called, comes into play online so much though. It's weird for me a bit. I'm just stuck with it though, I'm tiny (5'3") and don't look my age at all(thank you, genetics!) and so, I can understand it, but at my age...it's weird still getting relegated to "cute." Though, I'll admit the last several years I gave up and embraced it. lol I know own quite a few Hello Kitty shirts. XD

On the subject of Allan, I think we shouldn't read too much into him coming by game-wise. Considering the nervous breakdown the thread was having just before he posted. I think he likes all of us and cares to not see us run ourselves into the ground or get too worked up at this point. That's the only 'reading into it' I would do. I would not assume his coming by was in any way related to potential happy or disappointing reveals that may or maynot happen.
There's a quote from Patrick Weekes in the Twitter thread confirming that IB is pansexual and not technically bi....hmmm, what could this mean for Solas's chances? Or the chances of both remaining LIs being bi? Or am I reading too much into this?
