Oh, and one more silly headcanon because it is 2:30 AM and I am slightly delirious:

Bubble baths are one of the few luxuries that Lavellan really enjoys about Skyhold.  It takes her a while to come around to the idea; it seems, after all, a terrible waste to have people cart hot water up to her room.  It's Solas who changes her mind, sitting next to the tub and reading to her in his deep, even voice as she scrubs away all the dust and blood and exhaustion.  He even offers to rub her shoulders, though that often winds up with him getting hauled into the tub along with her.  Lavellan is at least considerate of the staff and mops up all the sudsy water on the floor afterwards.

No fighting, pleeeease? We're the Wolf Pack. We should be, like, one big family.

Here, have a grumpy Solas (speaking of tea...   )

Fun summer child tale: My boyfriend is still in the midst of his first playthrough and sends me this screenshot of a large statue of Fen'harel in some explorable zone. He then says to me "I swear its head moves. I think it's actually the god. He's watching me." He abhors any and all spoilers, so I could not even chuckle. I just had to say to him "Ya think so? Hm." All the while I am thinking, "Oh he's watching you, just not from where you think he is."

What is natural to some is not so much for others, I don't see why asexual people should avoid a thread that they enjoy and have contributed to for a while because they're made to feel uncomfortable.  I love that they can love the Solas romance because of it's lack of sex scene.  I'm a straight woman nearing middle age, the things that squick me here tend to be creepy, which it seems were touched on during the night.

I really just wanted to say that people are not broken just because they don't identify with/relate to sex. I understand that and I relate to them in many ways even though I'm not asexual myself.

I bet Solas likes pie.

Specifically this pie.

Certainly! :D But you'll probably be waiting a long time. He is a completionist to the extreme. He only just finished the Fade quest a day or two ago. Drives me nuts because I enjoy theorycraft with him, too.

Especially because I seem to be one of the few whose headcanon (is that the right word?) for the physical romance is that it was limited to what scenes are shown in game. Solas has such a difficult time making it through a kiss that it's hard for me to imagine they went much farther. Oh no, it's been 30 seconds, cue sad eyes and head shaking!

This is the case for me as well. The most I can see my Lavellan and Solas engage in is the occasional suggestive nudge, but nothing that they act upon in full. Solas has a lot going on that would keep him from indulging himself entirely.

Not to say that there isn't evidence to a more physical relationship between the two. There's certainly enough evidence to say that Solas and Lavellan are physically comfortable with each other (walking hand in hand during the final romance scene comes to mind), but that's just how I see it.

not avoiding whole thread no. Just skip the one message they don't like.

And I hope people won't start bitching me about that I stated my opinion ( you are not but I mean others ) because it was my opinion. I have not posted anything too offensive or too ... sexy here ö.Ö In my opinion at least. I don't even know who started to talk about this and why but I just wanted to state my opinion. It is not any more wrong than any other's even if you disagree with me but I still you gotta respect also those fans who actually like joke around a little. Obiviously if it doesn't go too far.

People are not broken. I just meant it should be something that they should not feel uncomfortable about because there is no reason to. I didn't say that you can't feel like that or that it is wrong. It is not. There are some people who find it disgusting which is a very weird thing for me to think but yet again.. I wonder why to play a game with such a lot of sexual things in it if you are so sensitive I wonder.

Spoiler

Anyways I still don't know how this topic began but I think we should end it here since some people are getting offended already.. I actually did end it already but since ppl keep commenting about it *sighs* sadly these days you cannot freely talk about anything anymore : /
Always gotta be careful about what you say

I really think everything has been said that needs to on the argument,  lets keep the blanket fort intact, everyone's welcome.

I wonder, how many people believe that they DID go to bed in Canon?

Going back to this,  they absolutely did in my Canon, I doubt that any of my Solavallen's will not go that far,  I kind of view the balcony scene as a crunch moment, and don't imagine that their interactions after that would be so conflicted, that is the starting point.  I think it is because I don't rp them as asexual (it is not something I have any experience of myself) so I personally cannot imagine a relationship going on that long without  developing that way pretty fast.

At the breakup my first (and only complete) Lavellan went the 'I love you' route, but I have a mage that I know is going to go full on angry.  I'm not yet sure how my dual wield rogue is going to react.

All the while I am thinking, "Oh he's watching you, just not from where you think he is."

I'm an evil person.

My significant other and I started dating when she was just starting DA2, and we've been playing most of our games together ever since. I was explaining my utterly insane theory born of anagrams, wolf statues, Solas's facial expressions, and snippets of party banters that this adorable Fade nerd was actually the Dread Wolf. We both agreed that it seemed like a possibility, and then we hit 'Claim Landmark', saw 'Shrine of Fen'harel' pop up, and 'Solas Slightly Approves'. Cue dropped jaws and hysterical laughter.

Later on, after we did the Temple of Mythal, I got a very serene text message from her explaining that she realized Mythal=Flemeth, and that she was sure that reveal was going to happen soon.

We're both people who take great lengths to avoid spoilers and try to go for the best, completionist playthrough.

Those are my redeeming Bioware-player qualities.

I have this friend who's new to Bioware. He asks me for advice while also avoiding spoilers. For Mass Effect, I didn't give him any hints. But he seemed to relish his own misery at some of the tragedies that played out in his ME playthrough.

So, the wonderful friend that I am, I decide to set him up for pain.

I managed to convince him to romance Morrigan the first time he played Origins. That the 'City Elf' Origin was a fun, memorable, and wholesome start.

I congratulated for figuring out that Branka had turned her House into golems and sympathized with his horror. I cackled for hours at his absolute panic at meeting the Broodmother.

Then, at the end of Origins, where he let Alistair sacrifice himself because he volunteered, then sobbed throughout the credits, and redid it, killing off his own Warden, he thanked me for all of the advice.

I was telling my significant other about this. She gasped, "You're a horrible person! You're a terrible friend! I'm ashamed of you! ....You should get him to romance Anders in 2."

Before release, I was so giddy that I told him the very basics about Blackwall and Solas, who both were characters that would be right up his alley. He declared that as a strictly heterosexual man, he was going to romance them on his first two playthroughs.

That became much, much funnier after I played Inquisition.  :D

Currently, he's fussing over all the side-quests in Awakening, convinced that any one of them he doesn't do will pull a ME2 on him and kill off his bestie, Anders. And saying that, "Well, the talking darkspawn are creepy, but at least there are no broodmothers."

Last message I got from him was about what order he should do the quests in.

I convinced him to do Kal'hirol first.

Silly Dwarf. Learn to walk the fade.  -_-

Uh! Why I never! I am most certainly not a silly dwarf thank you! I am a homosuperior! *Cue X-Men music* Doo doo doooo daddadada do dadadada dada DA!
What!? I'm sleep deprived!

I always felt like this was untapped potential for dwarf PC's in previous games.
Like Alistair explaining the Archdemon as a nightmare from the Blight.
For elves and humans, it sucks. It's a godawful nightmare from a corrupted Old God that notices you specifically as a threat. Urthemiel does not like you. He wants you sleep-deprived.
For a dwarf, though?
Imagine that being your first experience with a dream. Ever.
Poor Aeducans/Broscas.

Most definitely! I'd freak out!

You've made batman cry.

I think maybe people (myself included) from the rock on the top of the world have a hard time understanding what's the big deal about talking openly about sex. Said that I think we benefit from also taking into consideration that not all people are comfortable with sex as a topic at the dinner table. I don't think anyone would bat an eyelash if they found me watching smutty pictures at my institute, I could be researching porn for all they knew. I don't think that is a norm most places in the world and I think we should be respectful of other cultures and personal feelings on the topic.

Now I want pie. Rockpeople don't make pie. It's a cultural flaw that should be rectified!

More sensual than sexual myself but I don't claim to be asexual neither. I get alot of crap for appreciating physical form without sexual attraction. May be why I like studying anatomy? So they point at people and say, is that person hot? Then I get analystic about what could be viewed as attractive. Seeing sexual things is common enough and your peers will talk about it at times. But rather than sit through the cringe, I prefer to joke about it towards them. Make light of it and move to the next conversation.
