Lucky! I spent an eternity at Emprise du Lion earlier, reloading my save and hoping to get that armor schematic but so far, no such luck.

you can do that with random loot? Just keep reloading the same save for a schematic?

Well the quickening could have happened sooner, it just became obvious when they noticed it. It's the sort of thing I could easily see as not being obvious until sometime after it happened. Like I can't imagine all elves woke-up one day and were like "OMG we are aging and dying??!!" It was probably something that was realized over time.

 

And really what's 50 years to immortals? 

 

I do think there's a grey area where their lifespan slowly went from indefinite to 60-80 years, I don't think it was instantaneous. 

 

And if the Old Gods aren't the Creators getting revenge I'll eat my beanie.

Yup, but be warned, you'll do it all the time and until you make yourself want to vomit..

 

Although that's probably just me that does that, it's addictive...in a way, I've spent a long time just collecting any and all Mage schematics at all levels... I've driven myself quite bonkers.

 

Edit: And still not had a Seer Staff schematic drop, that is SO elusive..it makes me cry.

I love the idea of the Inquisitor thinking of Solas so much that she ends up in his room even in her dreams. 

It's no doubt my bias, but the situation Lavellan is thrown into as a Dalish elf (and apostate in my case) is so strange and terrifying that I figure it naturally drives her into Solas' company often. Not just because he's an elf and a mage but because he's got this calm voice of reason about the Breach.

The only other person who comforts her that much is Varric, oddly enough, and for totally different reasons. Down to earth and doesn't give a **** that he's the only dwarf in the company. I think it's funny that Varric tells her she ought to consider bolting. It's such a natural Dalish thing to do to run and hide that I picture her laughing about that because it's like this dwarf understands her better than anyone.
 

You're so lucky. T_T some of the artists I follow voice their opinion on political matters but you can't argue because tumblr isn't the type of platform for discussions. And because its not art related, they dont tag it correctly but use tag as inner notes so their post is unavoidable.

Yep I've unfollowed good blogs because they can't keep their noxious political opinions to themselves. The Dragon Age tumblr fandom is pretty toxic. I glance at tags occasionally, read David Gaider's blog and otherwise stay away from it.

Definitely. Not even a question in my mind, and not a big deal as far as I'm concerned. I don't think it's a focus of their relationship, but certainly a part and I couldn't imagine it any other way. So I enjoy the smutty stuff as long as it's not too fetish-y.

The Grey Warden fort in Emprise du Lion is the best place to farm T3 schematics.

You leave one item in a chest and the chest respawns.

I'm inclined to agree about his end goal being undoing (the results of?) something that happened in the past. We love theory here if you're inclined to share the Leliana/Dirthamen one. 

 

I haven't completely worked it out yet as it came to me at 4 AM last night heh, but alright. Nightingale would be Leliana, it's being referred to all through the game. Following is the entire song:

Who better to use than a master spy to get what he wants. (This sounded way better in my head last night at 4 am). This part however makes it all look intentional, Leliana is not who she seems:

If ancient elves were anything like the Last Unicorn movie, they will feel like their body is dying all around them... afraid of their mortal body... Retreated to their city...and then cry about it... And instead of singing "now that I'm a woman", they'll sing "Now that I'm a shemlen".

Yup, but be warned, you'll do it all the time and until you make yourself want to vomit..

 

Although that's probably just me that does that, it's addictive...in a way, I've spent a long time just collecting any and all Mage schematics at all levels... I've driven myself quite bonkers.

 

Edit: And still not had a Seer Staff schematic drop, that is SO elusive..it makes me cry.

It's a pain, really. I would have gladly paid 20.000 gold instead of reloading like an idiot all day

Yes, and as long as the chest has one item in it, you can take the others, save and reload. It will respawn different things. I farmed many schematics yesterday waiting for that sweet Battlemage mail.

I've been playing around with the idea that the loss of elven immortality might have been intentional. For example, we know that Falon'Din - the elven god of death - wasn't a nice guy, and that he apparently started wars just to get more worshippers. Now, as the elves were immortal, them dying in wars/accidents was the only way for him to gain weight, but if they lose their immortality? He wins all around. Additionaly, there might have been another reason some other god (or gods) might have decided that making elves mortal is a good idea. Maybe they didn't want competition. Maybe they needed their souls/spirits for... whatever. 

 

Just a random thought and another crazy theory.

I have a question. When you first start in haven as a rogue elf you have on a "hunter" coat, am I right?

It's not the long coat vest thing that you get as a mage.

But when I use the schematic of hunter coat it looks lIke the mage version?

I just want to know what schematic for upper tier versions of that very first outfit you get after the inquisition is formed and you officially start thearning game.

I've been thinking that the slaves of ancient arlathan willingly sacrificed their immortality to erect the veil. This for the promise of freedom. They used their combined will/faith to have death come to pass for the first time ever in order to raise the veil and be free. The skyhold codex 2nd entry leads me to believe this:

Skyhold has not just been claimed time and again, but sacked as well. We've managed to uncover some remnants, including a scratching under a pillar that mentions the name given by your witch. Old but still long after the place had been built over. But the author knew something of its first purpose, or at least, something of a legend.

Even with assistance from your elf, we managed only a partial translation. Elven is often a game of intents, not direct mapping of phonetic meaning. That means it's a mess.

Our belief transformed into everything. (assertation/problem? uncertain)
All time is transformed into the final/first death (uncertain),
inevitable/threatened victory and horrible/promised freedom in the untorn veils, (uncertain)
Where the sky is held up/back, where the people give/gain love that is an apology/promise from/to....(missing subject, uncertain)

Mostly complete, as fragments go. The rhythm is strange, not like others I've recorded. Perhaps less a poem than a statement? The elven language does tend to meander.

Edit: it's not much of a jump to suspect Solas put them up to it. Fen'Harel always demands a heavy price for his help does he not? And he's known as a rebel/trickster. He tricked the gods to be trapped behind the veil and as such set their slaves free....at a cost.

I heard that they patched it on pc. because client is owned by ea, its easy and cheap. For consoles, they are slower on patches because they do have to pay to patch their own game.

It's not patched on the PC.  I play PC and have been schematic farming since patch 2.
